This apartment has been rebuilt from the ground up throughout 2016 after being damaged by the Ballater flood of December 2015.

All new kitchen, bathrooms, flooring and furniture.

2 bedrooms: en-suite bedroom with double bed, bed has top quality 5000 pocket sprung mattress with a memory foam top, Egyptian cotton sheets and 100% cotton duvet covers and pillow cases. 2nd bedroom has zip-link beds which can be arranged as either a king size or 2 small singles at renter's request. These beds have pocket sprung mattresses which can be zipped together. Cotton sheets and damask duvet and pillow cases.

Both bedrooms are equipped with iPhone / iPad docking / charging stations with Bluetooth connectivity.

En-suite shower room with electric shower

Bathroom has full size bath (no shower)

Fully fitted kitchen with microwave, electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine / tumble dryer, coffee maker, fridge with small freezer compartment.

43" smart TV with Netflix and BBC iplayer etc, with free unlimited internet access.

DVD player with selection of films.

Bluetooth speaker for connecting to your own music device.

The apartment has a lockable storage cage in the basement suitable for storing bicycles, ski equipment etc.

The lawn area outside is shared with the other apartments in the building and has spectacular views of the River Dee and surrounding hills, mountains and forests.

There is free off road parking on site.

High Quality Riverside Apartment

We had a amazing stay in Ballater. The Apartment is finished to a very high standard and is an excellent Base to explore the surrounding areas. The weather hampered us doing as much as we would have liked but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.

The village has a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, along with a co-op supermarket all within a few yards of the apartment.

We would love to return and are already looking at dates for next year to what is a beautiful part of the British Isles. We would definately recommend staying at the apartment.....First Class.

Lovely quality self catering apartment.

Exceeded expectations. Lovely homely touches provided by the owner. From fruit bowl to toiletries and bathrobes. This apartment is immaculate. And very very comfortable. Everything is provided, quality bed linen, comfy bed, towels......and a variety of hot drink pods for the coffee maker including coffee, tea, hot chocolate. A wonderful place to come home to after a day walking round Loch Muick. Can't recommend highly enough. It will be my first choice accommodation for my next trip to Ballater. You will not be disappointed. Excellent communication with owner.

Fantastic Welcome

We had a fabulous few days in Ballater. The Monaltrie is a lovely apartment which has been beautifully furnished to make a comfortable and welcoming base for exploring this wonderful part of Scotland.

Lovely apartment along the River Dee

This apartment is located in a building right next to the River Dee and a lovely stone bridge. It has a garden on the property as well. A couple of things to keep in mind if considering - one of the rooms has a double size bed which is small if you are used to a king or have a husband who is 6'3". Also, the washer and dryer are made up of one machine that does both jobs but it does not do the job as well as separate machines. (If you are from the U.S. this is something new we had not seen before.) One bathroom has a shower and the other a bath, neither are a combo. None of this information is negative, just something to consider depending on your group. The rental was very nice, as was the owner and we were able to walk all over the village and the countryside. We were given one set of keys, but in retrospect would have asked for two as we were not always together. Would recommend to those visiting the area.

Lovely apartment in great location on River Dee

We were looking for last minute accommodation which was in a nice location but within easy reach of Aberdeen. It was no trouble to book the day before. The flat was very comfortable and furnished and equipped to a very high standard although it would have been good to have a freezer compartment in the fridge for ice. Location was spectacular on the banks of the Dee which gave easy access to the village shops and restaurants and also for walks in the surrounding countryside.

I'm a keen cyclist and last year I cycled to Ballater for the first time. I was struck by what a lovely town it was; clean, friendly and well kept. On the way home I cycled past this building and thought what a great location, and then noticed a for sale sign in one of the windows.....the rest is history.

The property is located in Ballater alongside the River Dee in the Cairngorms National Park. Ballater is the nearest town to Balmoral Castle, the summer retreat of the Royal Family, and boasts many speciality shops and numerous cafes and restaurants. It is an excellent base from which to tour the area and take part in the outdoor activities available; golf, skiing, walking, cycling, fishing, shooting and stalking are popular or simply just relax in the tranquil surroundings.

Although there are quite a few apartments in this building, it's extremely quiet. The apartment looks out onto the river and lawn and you could easily believe you were the only ones there.
