2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom Apartment with a Lift In An Historic Building

The apartment is on the top floor (5th) of a traditional building two streets back from the famous Promenade des Anglais in the beautiful Old Town having views both onto Place Massena, Nice's main square, and the Sea. There is a lift direct to the 5th floor.

The apartment comprises of a sitting room, a kitchen, two double bedrooms (1 Double, 1 Twin) both with en-suite bath or shower rooms. It comfortably sleeps four and in addition there is a put-me-up bed for a fifth person if necessary. The style is simple Côte with tiled floors and beamed ceilings. It is very light and airy.

In the sitting room there is a compact stereo with an ipod link, flat screen television and a DVD player. There are a number of DVDs for your use in the apartment. There is a wireless broadband Internet connection throughout the apartment. Facilities in the kitchen include induction hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.

The Apartment is situated in Rue Alexandre Mari which runs between Place Massena, Nice's main square, and the Place du Palais which is the main square in the Old Town.

The sea, the market, the shops, the restaurants and the opera house are all within 2 minutes walk from the apartment.

The Airport is a 20 minutes bus ride round the bay and the bus stop is 2 minutes walk from the apartment. The buses travel every 20 minutes.

The Nice Tramway comes through Place Massena making it extremely convenient. The main Railway station is 15 minutes walk (or 5 mins on the tram) up Avenue Jean Medecin, the main avenue running up from Place Massena. From here one can travel in both directions along the coast.

There are car parks in Rue Alexandre Mari as well as the Place du Palais. Cars can be hired from the airport as well as just across the gardens from the apartment.

About the Owner

I am English and have connections with Tuscany in Italy. I wanted to have an apartment by the sea where I could go around the coast to Italy or indeed the other way as far as Spain. It is also great to travel up into the mountains behind Nice. I wanted to be able to walk everywhere with all the conveniences of the old town at my fingertips. 100 years ago the high season was in January and February because the climate and the light was so wonderful. I love to be in Nice as I feel rejuvenated!

Perfect location

We have just returned from our second visit to this comfortable, ideally located appartment, and enjoyed our stay every bit as much as the first time. It is exactly as described by the owner, and is well equipped and maintained. There is lots of helpful information on where to go and what to do.

It is in an ideal location close to the promenade and to the market and old town. The Place Masena is excellent for people watching and there is a great view from the second bedroom window.

We used public transport which is inexpensive and easy to manage to visit Antibes and Vence. There is plenty of choice of where to eat with so many restaurants close by.

We would definitely recommend it to friends and hope to return again ourselves.

Excellent Location

This was our second 10 night stay in Nice and my husband and I enjoyed it every bit as much as our first holiday there. There is just so much to do and see that you are never bored. The wonderful coastal scenery can be accessed by bus for 1 Euro. We went to Villefranche and the Rothschilde's villas and gardens by public transport and can really recommend them. Prior to travelling to Nice we had organized a tour of Cannes/Antibes/Cap Ferrat and St Paul De Vence - all places we had not seen on our first holiday. The apartment's outstanding location allows you to enjoy the sea as well as many restaurants/bars/etc. Place Messina is an excellent spot for people watching and we were able to soak up the atmosphere of Euro 2016 and view the excitement of the fans from our window. Nic replies promptly to any queries you may have and Madame Horel is very helpful (she even lent us a really large umbrella on the one evening it rained during our stay). We still feel that we have only scratched the surface of Nice as a city and have no hesitation in saying that we will be back.

Perfect location, lovely apartment

A perfect apartment for two independent travellers, with two good-sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Great location in the old town and close to transport. A well set-up kitchen (with basics available) although we didn't use it apart from breakfast as there are so many good restaurants and cafes close by. We particularly enjoyed the pizzeria opposite and La Merenda just half a block away. Madame Horel was a great host with plenty of good information, and lots of great information from Nic in the apartment.

April review!

This was our seventh or eighth visit to Nice but the first time in an apartment. We were two couples travelling together and the accommodation was ideal. It is decorated to an excellent standard, has ample space including a large lounge, spacious bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Although it overlooks the Place Massena, the apartment is very quiet with no traffic noise. It is ideally located on the edge of the Old Town but is also only a step away from the main shopping area, with access to bars, restaurants and public transport. The boulangerie on the same street does wonderful croissants for breakfast!

Nic has left plenty of information on the local area, and also operating instructions for all the appliances.

Visits to Nice, Antibes, Villefranche, Monaco and Eze were all on our agenda and worth visiting. For eating out at night you are spoiled for choice. In 8 visits we have tried many of the restaurants and this year was the first time we had a disappointing meal - and we had eaten in the same restaurant before so can only assume it was an off night. We particularly like O Palermo, Atmosphere and La Ville de Sienne. Late in the evening we like to finish at Mori's bar for coffee and a digestif!

The weather at this time of year has always been lovely and was about 24C when we left on 26th April.

We would not hesitate to return and will recommend the apartment to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in NIce.

5 night break in Nice with friends.

We had a wonderful 5 nights in this apartment right in the old town of Nice. Really the best position for the promenade, trams, square and all things central to Nice.

The apartment was really clean and well appointed. Lovely bedding and towels, with a really good welcome with the neighbour who provided keys and essential information (in French!)

We would certainly recommend the flat, and hope to revisit.

Cosy apartment

A cosy, airy and homely apartment situated near markets, beach, buses, trams and trains.

This is a good place to be if you want a central position close to all amenities. Next to

the delightful Place Massena with its fountains, walks and planting. Old town on doorstep

with its authentic Nice cuisine. Quiet and peaceful. Flat has all you could need for your stay.

Location, Location, Location!!! Alexmari is perfectly situated between Place Massena, the main square in Nice and the Place du Palais, which is the main square in the beautiful Old Town. When you walk out of the front door, you are within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, fabulous shopping, the spacious beaches, the sumptuous markets and the beautiful Opera House. Nice, the Queen of the French Riviera, is at the very heart of life on the spectacular Côte d'Azur.

At the centre of the Old Town is the Cours Salaya, the daily morning market bustling with flowers, fruit and vegetable stalls which make way in the rest of the day to cafés, bars and restaurants.
