Charming And Spacious Trulli with private pool, tastefully decorated - Trullo di Sopra

Overview

Property

Updated: 27-Nov-2016
Charming And Spacious Trulli with private pool, tastefully decorated

Tenuta Acquarossa consists of two separate properties, which can be let separately or together. Rented together they can provide ample space for large parties up to 14 people. When rented separately they are however completely private as the houses are ca 70 meters a part . They only share the access road, but each house has its own separate and private entrance, parking, gardens and each property has its own private pool.

Trullo di Sotto can accommodate 8 people. It is approximately 120 sq.meters and consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 living areas, one of which can be used as a bedroom, open kitchen with adjoining dining room and 3 bathrooms with shower and toilet, two of which are en- suite. Two of the bedrooms have double beds, while one bedroom has two twin beds that can be converted into a double bed on request. The living room has a sofa bed and can be used as a bedroom for two people. On request a cot can also be provided for any of the bedrooms.

Trullo di Sopra can accommodate up to 6 people. It is about 100 sq.m. and consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet , both en- suite, open-plan kitchen and living area . Both bedrooms have double beds and two single beds in the living area can be made up for up to two people . On request a cot can be provided int the master suite.

Both house are surrounded by paved terraces and right outside the main entrance there is a large dining table under a covered pergola where you can enjoy delicious food cooked on the garden grill. In each garden garden there is a swimming pool (apprx: 30/36 sqm ) with a terrace overlooking the valley , equipped with 4/6 sun loungers under covered pergolas, where the sun shines from dawn to dusk . The house, garden and outdoor areas are nicely lit so that you can enjoy long summer evenings outdoors. The garden is filled with olive trees and fig trees (just eat straight from the tree in August - figs like you've never tasted them!), pear trees, almond trees and of course hundreds of lavender bushes that give the garden a lovely scent.

There is parking within the property gates for 3/4 cars.

Both properties are tastefully decorated to a high standard ensuring you a comfortable and luxurious holiday experience. Up to 1.5 meters thick walls ensure a comfortable indoor temperature day and night , even in the hottest months. The kitchen and bathrooms are well equipped and there is also a Nespresso machine (but remember to bring coffee capsules ). The property is connected to the public water network , so you can safely drink delicious water straight from the tap. In addition, there is also a wi - fi connection, but keep in mind it is not a landbased line, so the speed will vary. .

About the services offered

Included in the rent is a welcome service, undertaken by our English speaking Italian partner. She will meet you in the city and take you to the property at the agreed time. She will give you a brief introduction to what you need to know and will also be your contact person on the spot if anything should happen you need help with. The rental price also includes linens , shower and bath towels and beach / pool towels for all guests, changed weekly for stays of 2 weeks or more . Final cleaning is included in the price for all stays, while for stays lasting two weeks or more, there is a light weekly cleaning of the property in connection with the change of linen and towels. If desired, additional cleaning can be purchased for an hourly rate of 10 Euro. This must be agreed in advance. Underfloor heating available at additional cost. English speaking babysitter or chef to come to your home and cook are also available but must be arranged in advance, price on request.

About the weather

Puglia has stable dry and lovely weather, and summer starts in May and lasts until October. July and August are the hottest months and temperatures can reach over 30 degrees. However, the property is approximately 340 meters above sea level, ensuring a gentle wind and a dry climate, even in the hottest months. The swimming pool is not heated but will usually have comfortable bathing temperature from mid-May to September. Beach season is also from May to September

How to get there

The location of the property is such that a car is necessary. Cars can easily be rented at the airport or in train station in both Bari and Brindisi .

The nearest airport is Brindisi (about 40 min) while Bari airport is about 1 hour's drive away. Ryanair, Lufthansa and Easyjet fly direct routes from many English and other European airports. Alitalia and Ryanair fly domestic routes from either Rome or Milan to these airports 10 to 12 times per day.

A stunning property finished to a high standard

We were looked after very well by the local agent and had a fantastic stay. The property is within a short drive of many lovely historic towns yet offers a very tranquil setting. I would love to stay there again in the future.

Absolutely perfect! Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures online don't do Trullo di Sopra justice. We were pleasantly surprised the entire two weeks we were. We have never had such a relaxing family vacation and our girls are 8 and 12. Everyone had room to spread out, places to explore and a beautiful pool! None of us wanted to leave when it was time to go.

The Trullo itself is a dream! The inside has been lovingly restored with attention to the smallest of details. We found plenty of room for all of our things with lots of hangars in the closets. The entire outside area and roof are things you can't capture in a picture. The pool area and patios are so relaxing. From the roof you only see the tips of a few surrounding Trullis, olive trees and fig trees. Almost every evening we watched sightings of the ISS and looked at the stars. You don't hear a single car or plane or any kind of people noise. Just the smell of lavender in the air and the high summer sound of locust. The next neighbor is Trullo di Sotto which is far enough away that you don't hear them.

Even though we were there in August we didn't us the air conditioning even once. You always have a cross breeze. The screen doors are very sturdy with locks so you can leave the doors open at night too. Our girls loved Red Water Ranch just a few minutes' walk away and visited the horses and dogs at least once a day. On the other side of Red Water Ranch are horse trails to wander down and explore nature. You can walk for hours through olive trees and vineyards. In Casalini/Panza a few kilometers away there are small grocery stores with lots of local cheeses and meats. Very friendly people, even with non-Italian speaking tourists.

Communication with Nina (owner) was wonderful! We booked in November 2014 for August 2015. After deciding on Trullo di Sopra for many reasons, Nina was nice enough to keep us updated during the upcoming months! For example, there was no terrace by the pool when we booked, so she sent us pictures in whatsapp. She also personally let us know when our deposit cleared and so on. Nina's great!

Angelita is the property manager in Italy. We drove from southern Germany and the planned 12 hour drive turned into 17 hours due to traffic. We kept in touch with Angelita on the way and let her know when we finally reached Bari. She picked us up in Cisternino and even helped us get dinner organized! Ask her for a tour of the olive oil mill she works at!

Sehr schöne Woche im Trullo

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful stay in Trullo di Sopra, Puglia

  • 5 of 5

This was indeed a very charming and well-functioning residence with unique interior as well as exterior solutions.

We enjoyed ourselves from day one in this beautiful and peaceful environment.

The surrounding and exciting small villages and lovely beaches also made our stay a most memorable one and we shall definitely like to come back.

Wonderful Vacation Home

  • 4 of 5

The Trullo offered a fun and new vacation rental environment. Clean, updated, peaceful, nicely appointed. Pool and covered outdoor living area delightful. Had difficulty with hot water, but told it is being fixed. TV very small and not in area good for watching movies. Service was outstanding by both owner and property manager.

On the Adriatic coast on Italy's heal exists a vacation paradise, called Puglia. The area is a favourite destination for Italians on holiday in their own country, and is only marginally affected by international tourism. Here you will find white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters in addition to a number of picturesque villages like Alberobello, Cisternino, Ostuni, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Polignano a mare and Ceglie Messapica to name but a few. The area is also known for its unique round trullo-houses - like our house for rent.

About the location

The holiday house lies undisturbed in a lovely little valley filled with by olive-trees and figs. There is no traffic passing through, but the property is by no means isolated. With the exception of the last 100 meters up to the property, there is a paved road. It is a 7-minute drive to Cisternino, while the nearest small town, Casalini, has a grocery store and a handful of trattorias, only 2 minutes by car or a short walk away ... The Adriatic sea and the beaches are just 17 km away and there is ample parking along the coast . There are a number of free beaches in addition to beaches which offer rental of sunbeds and parasols.

The days in Puglia are well enjoyed by the pool, on the beautiful beaches and of course visiting all the picturesque villages nearby where you can go in for a walk in the afternoon and have a delicious ice-cream, attend a concert in the piazza at night, visit a beautiful church or eat dinner at a nice outdoor restaurant.

But there is far more to do for those who get restless after a while!

Horseback - riding: In walking distance from the property there is a riding centre offering riding lessons and excursions in Valle d’Itria.

Golf and spa: offered in Savelletri ( 20 mins drive ) in connection with a number of 5 star hotels that have been established in recent years.

Amusement Parks : Also in Savelletri where there is an amusement park, zoo safari and aqualand

Shopping: Puglia has a long tradition of ceramics , and there are outlets all across the region. On the outskirts of Bari there also is an outlet village. There are also nice markets on selected days in the different towns where you can find everything from local produce to antiques .

Visiting a Winery : Puglia is a major producer of wine and grapes like primitivo and negroamaro are well known all over the world. Visits to vineyards may be arranged.

Day trips: For those who like to get around a bit when you 're on vacation, we can recommend day trips to Baroque Lecce or Bari, a harbor town with a charming old town and bustling night life . Alternatively you can travel to the Ionian Sea (bottom of Italy's boot) , but remember swimwear, here too there are wonderful beaches. If cities are not what attract you most, you can drive a little further south and visit the nature reserve of Torre Guaceto, with incredible beaches that give the feeling of being on a tropical island. And even further south, you will find Otranto , with a lovely beach right in town and a charming old town.
