Superb, central, yet private location, walking distance to beach and Praca
Lovely villa which is both modern and traditional, in a beautiful setting down a quiet tree lined lane surrounded by canopy pines and its own fruit trees. We purchased this villa in 2013 primarily because of its quiet location, large garden and yet it is very close to the Praca and beach. We have extensively renovated over the last year and have had the garden re landscaped and planted with figs, olives and citrus fruit. There will be no need for guests to buy their own lemons! The early reviews of our property are pre renovation and when it was quite a basic villa. Post renovation we have had 5 star reviews.
Using a local well known architect, we have added a new master bedroom suite, large kitchen, swimming pool and BBQ/ outdoor dining room. The large gardens have been re landscaped with the addition of fruit trees and a Mediterranean Garden. We have also added a new carport, fountain and electric entrance gates. This is a superb position to be in Vale do Lobo, situated on the other side of the 17th Hole from the Donna Filipa Hotel. It is a only a 10 minute walk to the Praca and beach. The villa sits in a steep valley surrounded by other luxury villas.
The interior has been planned and fitted by a local interior designer. All the beds are new, large and superior hotel quality. The soft furnishings are mainly natural colours and Include Sanderson fabrics and Jane Churchill. The tables and outdoor furniture are Point and Provence, (hand crafted wooden furniture from Northern Portugal). We have aimed to keep the traditional feel of a Portuguese villa, whilst making it modern and fresh. All the kitchen appliances are new.
The L shaped kitchen is large, light and modern with black marble worktops and newly fitted Bosch appliances. There are bar stools to sit at and an American Fridge Freezer with ice maker. There is also a dining area furnished with Provence table and chairs. A flat screen TV has been fitted which offers Uk channels. This villa is truly a home from home. Having bought four young children to Portugal over the last 12 years, we have tried to think of everything. We have therefore ensured that a travel cot and high chair are available to guests and free to use.
The new master bedroom is double aspect opening onto a large balcony furnished with sun loungers and overlooking the pool. It is a perfect place to watch the sun go down listening to the sea.
The new BBQ has a two charcoal grills and a large outdoor dining area. It is furnished with Point outdoor outdoor furniture.
There is a large lounge, comfortably furnished with a fireplace and flatscreen TV.
THe utility room is large and has two washing machines, a tumble dryer and wine cooler/ storage. It is well equipped with iron, ironing board.
All the rooms have air conditioning and electric shutters. We have installed Lazer TV and internet which offers lots of channels including UK channels and BBC, Sky Sports etc.
There is also a covered terrace overlooking the swimming pool furnished with comfortable seating and table. We supply pool towels and bathrobes to guests. We also have two high chairs and two travel cots available at the villa and free to use.
The swimming pool at the villa is over 5mx11m and newly completed. It can be heated in the cooler months and has a rigid solar powered pool cover. The seating areas around the pool allow for good sunbathing, supervision of the pool and outdoor dining.
The gates are electric to provide extra security and the villa is enclosed by hedging and fencing.
We are members of Vale do Lobo and guests get the benefit of VDL security, 24 Hour Reception and membership cards( small extra cost) giving discounts to Gym, Spa, Tennis, Restaurants , free use of Circuit Bus and entry to swimming pool at Praca.
Our rental rates have stayed pretty much the same for 2017. Home Away and Owners Direct from July 2016 now add a Service Charge which is paid to them (not us). In order to counter this charge and be competitive, we have reduced our deposit and removed extra add on fees such as maid and pool heating.
We have visited Vale Do Lobo as a family since 1979. We have four children and it is perfect for family beach holidays, eating out at fabulous beach bars and relaxation. This villa is set in the heart of the resort on Rua Dos Pinheiros, a tranquil one-way lane with exclusive villas tucked away under the Umbrella Pines. The situation of the villa is typical of the original vision of Vale do Lobo as a five-star family resort; it provides easy, safe access to the bars and restaurants of the Praca and the glorious beach, in a short 10 min walk.
Two Championship Golf Courses, Tennis Academy with 14 courts, pool, gym, sauna, steam and massage facilities, Cultural Centre and Auditorium, Physiogym and Royal Spa area, Kangaroo Club for children, pristine beach with water sports, two resort pools, night club, bars and restaurants.
The outside areas are comfortably-furnished with relaxing sofas and chairs. Outdoor dining is a pleasure with your local fish grilled to perfection on the poolside BBQ...
What to do.....
The villa is a 10 minute walk to the Praca and 2km beach at Vale do Lobo. We have teenage children who enjoy the large pool overlooking the Atlantic and meet the friends there that they have met in previous years. The nightclub is also an attraction for them; there is 24 hour Vale Do Lobo Security and a Circuit Bus which is free for people using our villa. As we are members of the Proprietor's Club at Vale do lobo, there are valuable discounts in golf, tennis, wellness and bars. It also has the benefit of 24-hour reception facilities at the Resort Centre. Having had four children, I understand the need to be child friendly. The pool itself has no fencing around it, although it does have a rigid pool cover which offers some security. Children will therefore need constant adult supervision around the pool and must not be allowed to walk on the pool cover. There are DVD'S, books and some toys (including pool toys) for children to use during their stay. There is also a travel cot and high chair.
Vale do Lobo is a perfect place to get fit! There are superb jogging routes with hill work and beach runs straight from the front door of the villa. The tennis, golf, beach and Praca are all almost equal distances away from the villa, so it is perfectly situated for those wanting to make the most of Vale do lobo as a resort with no need to drive.
Out of season Vale do Lobo is lovely. Many of the beach bars remain open serving fresh fish and superb wines. The beach is empty and the temperatures are good. It is a perfect time for relaxing, playing golf and tennis and enjoying quiet Vale Do Lobo as it used to be in 1979: highly recommended! See link below for video.

I have been coming to Vale Do Lobo since I was a child. Then, as now, it was a safe place to enjoy a superb beach holiday with lots to do. The 24 hour security is reassuring now that my children are growing up. At the Praca there are bars, restaurants, a pool overlooking the Atlantic and a nightclub. There is a courtesy bus which runs all night and will drop you at your front door. Invaluable after a night out, but also useful for people who might be less able to walk to the Praca. There are lots of activities in and around Vale do Lobo including water sports, horse riding. tennis and of course golf.
Vale do Lobo is truly a home form home for us and we enjoy it at any time of the year. It is particularly beautiful in May and September when the weather is good and the beaches are empty. The beach bars are still open serving fabulous seafood and delicious wine. The restaurants and bars outside of Vale do Lobo are superb for seafood and steaks. Portuguese wine is excellent and there is plenty of variety in price and quality at the local supermarkets.
My husband is a partner in a law firm in the City and I am a qualified nurse. We both have busy lives and our villa gives us the perfect escape! We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

We bought this house because it is traditional and close to all the superb facilities in Vale do Lobo. We can walk to the Royal tennis Academy, Golf Club, bars and restaurants. It is set in a mature and beautiful part of Vale Do Lobo. Each time we visit the villa I feel that I am at home in a familiar and friendly place. The houses around the villa are exclusive, the lane is pretty and quiet with mature plants and trees. There is an exercise park at the top of the lane, it is perfectly situated for joggers and fitness enthusiasts.

Stunning property in stunning gardens
An amazing property living up to the photographs displayed on the site. Well maintained and in a peaceful location. Within walking distance of many amenities. Clean and tidy. Fantastic customer service from both the owner and the maid and gardener. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to family and friends as excellent valuer for money. Fantastic days spent on the beach and using the bars and restaurants (favorite being The Beach Bar with good food, excellent service and a wonderful place to watch the sunset and sea the dolphins.
Outstanding accommodation, spacious, fully equipped, beautifully maintained, PERFECT!
We couldn't have asked for better accommodation, the villa was beautiful, set in lovely gardens with its own pool. It had everything equipment wise that you could ever need. Everything was maintained to a very high standard. In actual fact apart from going shopping you never needed to leave the villa. We stayed there for a week with 8 of us but the villa was that spacious that you never felt on top of each other. Location wise is was well situated for the restaurants and the beach.
All in all we would highly recommend it and would love to return.
A well equipped villa in Vale do Lobo
The villa is newly refurbished with good accommodation, spacious comfortable rooms, high quality finishes and a well equipped kitchen. The garden and pool area is well maintained with a large barbecue area including a table and chairs for outdoor eating. A/c not really needed but seems to be effective. Vale d Lobo has good golf courses and various facilities for eating, shopping and dining. Good supermarket at gate. The estate is well maintained, secure and quiet. Minor interruption to this with a karaoke party in a nearby villa that lasted for an hour. Otherwise very peaceful. Nearby beach is good. Many restaurants if not wishing to eat at the villa.
One minor problem locating a cot dealt with quickly and efficiently by the owners after Owners Direct were unable to help. After two long confusing conversations on the OD customer support line we were eventually returned to the start of the long and futile 40 minute process at which point we gave up and phoned the owners directly. OD focused on misrepresentation and relocation unable to respond to a the request for resolution of the minor problem or provide contact details of the owners which we eventually located in emails.
All can say is WOW !!
From the moment we walked through the private gates of the villa we could not believe how amazing everything was.
We visited the villa in August with our 2 children age 2 & 5 and my step daughter and her boyfriend. We had the most fantastic time, whoever designed this villa thought of everything. The outdoor area was huge and very child friendly. There are lots of places we could relax and a beautiful area that was covered over to have our lunch and the most well equipped bbq area too. The swimming pool was just the right temperature too and the perfect size.
The Villa inside was out of this world, flat screen TVs, huge breakfast bar in the kitchen area and all of the amenities you need, including a great coffee machine. The laundry room was huge with great washing machines & dryer.
All of the bedrooms are of a very high standard of decoration all with large ensuit bathrooms too, the cleanliness..... you just could not fault and this is down to Maria who came and cleaned for us and changed bedding and towels too. The master bedroom had a huge terrace with beautiful views and wonderful sun beds to relax.
A huge thank you to Fiona & Charles for letting us use their beautiful home, they have though of everything to make your holiday just perfect, we could not have asked for a villa in a better location, so close to the golf club, restaurants and very close to the supermarket too.
I can not wait to book to stay here again next year.

Can't really say more than above.A cooler box and Beach umbrella would have been great but I suspect this would get lost over the season. The housekeepr everyday would have been great. Overall an excellent property and the owner communication and service was fantastic. Would love to use it again next year.

The outdoor area surrounding the pool was stunning, and the heated and generous size pool was an added bonus for the swimmers, children included.
