Beautiful Scenery
The Accommodations was very clean and the scenery was beautiful Especially the sunsets. My husband & I really enjoyed the beaches just a 2 min drive away. Although shopping was very limited and closed early. My family was upset about not knowing that the wifi is really bad but the owner did say he was changing providers to Starlink which would fix that problem. All and all I really enjoyed our stay!

Another great stay at Port Hood Place
This was our second time staying at Port Hood Place and it was just as comfortable and well-appointed as the first time. The sunsets and views of the ocean and Port Hood Island are unbeatable and it's an ideal base for a family group. We'll be back!

Port Hood Vacation
This is a stunning, gorgeous property. Extremely clean, everything you possibly need is in the house to make your stay stress free. Excellent layout, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds and efficient bathrooms/showers. The view is stunning, the trails in the back are fully accessible. Lots of parking. Very quiet, serene area. Would definitely come back! 👍😀

Beautiful View, good location
We had a wonderful time at this property. The beds were very comfortable - top notch linens. Somehow there was a beautiful sunset over the Atlantic. Spotless. Well appointed kitchen - only complaint is the "consumables" - 1 bar of soap for 2 bathrooms, no shampoo, there was coffee but no sugar or creamer or tea.

Fantastic accommodation!!
Very clean and comfortable accommodation with stunning views of the Port Hood harbour. Great gateway to the Cabot Trail and other adventures. I would definitely return to this home again when travelling to Cape Breton!

About the host

Host profile image
Hello my name is Rick Gillies and I currently live in Windsor, Ontario with roots in Port Hood, Cape Breton. I have spent many a summer, spring or fall in Port Hood and I can say it is my favourite place on earth. The rolling hills, smell of the sea breezes and the friendly people, all make your stay memorable. My father purchased this property just after the war and we spent summers at the small cottage at the bottom on the hill. Now my family and I have built a four-plex with spectacular views of the ocean to enjoy and share with others. This luxury condominium complex is a home away from home. I have many family members in the surrounding lands who will welcome you and assist if you need any support with your stay. Best wishes and have fun!
