Overview

About the property

4 beds. 1 bedroom, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom. Panoramic view!

The Eco-Lodge (60m ²) is built on a hill with an unobstructed view of the Ebro Valley and consists of two levels. Upper part there is the authentic casita (20m2) which serves as parental room and an extension stay and in the lower part you find the kitchen extension.

Finca Buenavista Eco-Lodge details:

The master bedroom (20m²): 1 double bed, buffet, Ikea chair and a tap for cold water.

The kitchen: large fridge with freezer, large worktop with double sink, oven / stove 4 gas burners, cold water faucet, storage space.

Living room: dining table and 4 chairs, 2 seater sofa bed, 2 Hifi speakers, 12V power socket connector + 230V converter, TV with French TNT channels + FTA international channels via Astra 19. 2. 9 Mbps internet access, wifi, wardrobe, coffee table and relaxing chair Ikea.

The bathroom with shower, water heater, sink, mirror and dry toilet is located in a side annex building. The bathroom is completely tiled.

Bed sheets, pillows and pillowcases, mattress pads, bath towels and kitchen are provided and included in the price.

Patio equipment: chairs, large table, mobile gas barbecue, sunbathing, arbor removable garden.

The finca: Beautiful olive grove of 20 000 m2, well maintained without chemicals with terraces, beautiful stone walls and hundreds of olive, almond and carob trees. The access to the finca is made by paved and concreted road. It is a small narrow road that goes up, with some hairpin bends and with some potholes here and there, so it's not a highway with street lights.

The limits of the finca are indicated with red paint on the stone walls. The distance to the village with all amenities is 3.5 km away.

The Lodge is situated in a conservation area, ideal for rest and for those who seek a wilderness place to be 100% private without nuisance. Therefore ideally suited to people who appreciate unspoilt nature and know comply.

Water and Electricity: As the lodge is off-grid, rainwater is collected in tanks and cisterns and used for showering and general cleaning. Electricity (12V) is produced by solar panels and so the pump for hot water, lamps, multi-socket TV, internet, computer etc. operate thanks to this green energy. This allows you to charge laptops, computers etc. You can cook with bottled gas (supplied) on the 4 burner stove in the kitchen or using the gas barbecue. The rainwater collected and distributed by the taps is not drinkable (attention to young children!)but in the village you can fill the jerrycans present with drinking water or you simply buy bottled water in supermarkets like Aldi or Lidl in Tortosa.

Warning: This is not a standard accomodation. If you can not stand to meet little geckos, it is better to abstain. Be careful with young children (risk of falling because the ground is not flat)

Rustic property equipped with all you need

  • 4 of 5

The property was rustic with everything that you need but there are a couple of problems for health and safety that need sorting out, there is a red door to a well which has a catch on it but I think it should have a lock on it so that nobody opens it and falls in it is a large door and children would definatly open it to see what is there, 2 light switches that should have covers on them they are exposed to open wires one is in the lounge and the one in the bedroom it is ok in daylight because you can see where the button is but in the dark it is easy to touch the wires, the "steps" to the shower room need to be made safer to walk on easy to fall on them, and on the description of the property you should say about the road when you turn off of the main road if you are not a confident driver this 3klm drive up the hill would not be possible there are 2 very tight bends for us not a problem as we both have no problems driving on difficult roads but lots of people would not be able to do it, but everything else is good and equipped for anything you need would suggest the fridge is turned on ready for use.

Owner's Response: Thanks for leaving a positive comment. Just some remarks about the health and safety and access issues for a better understanding. The Lodge is equipped with a solar powered 12-volt system with some lamps where you should push a button to switch it on and off. Even if you would touch the wires nothing happens, they are insulated. Yes, if you try to switch it on e.g. with a pair of scissors in the dark though, in a worst case scenario you might wind up with a devastating 12 volt shock. They were deliberately left uncovered for educational purposes and can't be reached by young children. The fact that children may open the door of the restored cistern (not a well) does not imply that they will fall in easily. The step is 50 cm high, but I agree, with a lock it would be 100% safe. If security is an issue, don't bring young children up here since a rustic finca in the hills with panoramic views comes with open terraces you can jump or fall off since they are not fenced in. (no rustic finca with terraces is fenced, thank god). The information about the access road is as accurate as can be. It's advertised as an isolated property on a hilltop with easy access by winding tarmac road for normal cars so Ferrari drivers, please refrain from booking! Lucien

Lovely spot & tranquil

  • 4 of 5

Property was fine. Access was good considering how remote the property is (not for the feint hearted). Kitchen quite well equipped. An electrical extension lead/car charger was handy. Toilet facilities were adequate!!! Would stay there again.
