Masia la Traxa is your opportunity to stay in an authentic holiday home dating back to 16th century, formerly used as base when cultivating the almond plantation, but in 2013 it was completely reformed into an authentic, high quality holiday home with natural swimming pool and a fantastic view over the Tarragona province and even with the Sea visible in the distance.

The property is very spacious and is still full of almond trees, although not cultivated professionally anymore, so in the almond season, you can eat all the almonds you want.

The swimming pool is fantastic, as it is constructed in a way that it receives water directly from a spring in the mountains. The water is led through the swimming pool and by a small fountain to a lower level, where it is collected for watering. Hence, the swimming pool has the cleanest mountain water, and an organic cleaning system add to the natural experience. It is made by natural rocks and is excellent for children as it is between 75-95 cm. deep.

By the swimming pool, there is a terrace area, so you can relax there, and if it gets too hot, just move the table under the almonds to find shade. The situation of the pool, makes the view impressive, with fields, almonds and wine and with the Mediterranean Sea visible on clear days.

On the other side of the parking lot, the house is situated with an equally nice view. In front of the house, there is a big outdoor terrace, connected to the house by big sliding doors. The ground floor of the house is open and has a dining area with a beautiful wooden table and a sofa area with flat-screen TV and DVD. There is also WIFI-internet in the house.

A lot of effort has been made in preserving the authentic atmosphere of the house, they have for instance preserved the original walls of the house and also the original oil-deposit below, which is visible, since a part of the floor has been made of glass.

On the ground floor too, you find the cosy open modern kitchen equipped with all facilities you may think of, for instance ceramic hotplates, oven, fridge, freezer and Nespresso. Finally on the ground floor, you find an extra toilet and also the smallest double room of the house with a small double bed and bathroom ensuite.

On the first floor, you find the remaining 3 double rooms, two with double beds and one with two single beds. All bedrooms have bathrooms ensuite. If you are more than 8 persons, there are two extra beds for children. The limestone walls keep the temperature pleasant in the summer.

The area is has also wine production and when staying in the Masia la Traxa, it is possible to visit the neighbouring ”bodega”, which is the spanish word for wine producer. Here, it is possible to have a tour and a tasting.

The nearest village is 4 km. away, and is very cosy with its narrow streets and arches. It has a few restaurants, a bakery and a pharmacy. For bigger supermarkets, you will need to go to Valls, 10 km. away.

The house is a perfect base for excursions, as you can reach Barcelona in 1 hour by motorway or, in 30 minutes, Tarragona , which is a very interesting city with its Roman amphitheatre and a cosy town centre. Here is also an excellent beach. Just outside Tarragona, you find the amusement park Universal Studios Port Aventura.

Stay tax £0.42 per night, per person. This amount will be due to the manager upon arrival. Does not apply to children under 16 years.

The price includes: VAT, use of electricity, heating, water, bed-linen, towels (for each guest is one for the bath and one for the hands - please bring towels for the pool and beach (there is a washing machine in the house) and cleaning at departure.

The price does not include: Catalan tourist tax: € 0,5/adult (+16) per night.

Deposit: When booking the property, a deposit equal to 40% must be paid within 8 days to secure the booking. By cancellation more than 2 months before arrival, half of the deposit will be refunded. By cancellation less than 2 months before arrival, the deposit is not refunded.

Remaining payment: For this house, the remaining payment must be transferred 1 month before arrival.
