About this property

The Shippen, traditional granite barn in the heart of Treen

Formerly a cowshed on what is still a working organic dairy farm The Shippen has been tastefully renovated to provide very comfortable accommodation in the heart of Treen.

Built of granite with some high ceilings, exposed beams and wall ties all helping to retain the barn's character. Whilst slate floors with some under-floor heating as well as oil-fired central heating add a modern touch.

The latest addition of a morso multifuel stove, with initial supply of fuel included, will ensure a cosy atmosphere.

Accommodation includes 2 bedrooms (1 king-size , 1 super-king / twin), 1 with en-suite shower room and TV, and 1 with bathroom adjacent incorporating a spa bath.

The light and airy family space includes a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave etc.

There is a washer/drier available in a shared outbuilding.

For those ‘not so sunny’ days there is a smart TV where you are welcome to use your own Netflix, Prime etc.

Outside is a private and secure 'suntrap' terrace with seating, outside dining and a barbecue (on request).

All towels and bed-linen are included (except beach towels) as is electricity, oil and initial supply of stove fuel.

There is off road parking for 2 medium sized cars or 1 large people carrier.

Chicken / cow friendly dogs are welcomed.

Please note that adult supervision of children is required on the farm at all times. You are welcome to come and watch the milking and help to pick up the eggs! - fresh pasteurised certified grassfed organic milk and eggs are available from the farm daily.

There is some disabled access as there are no steps into or stairs inside the property.

Out of season short breaks available.

Lovely week at The Shippen
Excellent accommodation in a small village within a short walk to the coast, and a good pub just across the road. Ideal location for walks from the house, and only a few miles drive to Penzance, Land's End, etc. Very friendly, helpful hosts (thanks Paula!), and the property had everything we needed, and was warm, comfortable, quiet, etc. Would definitely stay there again, and it's a great area for coastal walks and general outdoor activities.

A Delightful Quirky Gem On A Working Farm
Had a wonderful opportunity to rent The Shippen (Cow Shed) for the continuation of the South West Coast Path. (Close by) The proprietor Paula, on hand to welcome our arrival, to a perfect 1st class accomadation and first impressions that with leave a smile on your face, tastefully converted, furnishing with everything that is required for a comfortable day and night stay away. Off road parking, with a local pub serving the finest of ales, wines and the quality of meals you would expect. Very highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

Great Location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the farm. Across the road from the pub (no noise or anything - just very convenient!) Tea and cake to welcome us and milk and eggs in the fridge - we would certainly book again.
