Breathtaking View Even Better Than The Pictures !
When we arrived Guido was most helpful in carrying our suitcase down the 44 stairs to our apartment. The apartment was just as depicted on VRBO. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the terrace off the bedroom was more than spectacular. Guido surprised us with wine that was homemade and was better than any light sparkling wine we have ever tasted. He later shared a bunch of grapes from the vineyard that were delicious and quite unique with the shape of the grape pointed on the ends like an American football. Let us not forget to mention the homegrown figs that also were deliciously sweet. Guido was as mentioned in other reviews very accessible and on the property. There is a free shuttle that runs a couple times in the morning from Furore and returns a couple of times in the late afternoon/early evening(we did'nt use as we drove everywhere for the few days we stayed-In hindsight maybe we should have used it). Guido was helpful in suggesting an excellent restaurant in Furore just 5-10 minutes away. We also discovered a small local restaurant about 15 minutes north on a bend in the road frequented by the locals and no wonder why as the food was incredibly inexpensive and delicious. We could go on....One last note for those of you who have not driven in the Amalfi Coast, you may want to talk to someone who has , as it is not for everyone.
Wonderful Italian villa on the Amalfi Coast set apart from the crowds. Loved it!!
We can't say enough about our stay at Tenuta la Picola. It was exactly what we were looking for on the Amalfi Coast! The views are amazing and the property is exactly what you think of when picturing a villa on the coast. The terrace is amazing and we enjoyed the views immensely. Guido was the perfect host and was available for transportation as needed. We would highly recommend this property for a wonderful and relaxing stay. Thank you Guido!!
Relaxing Home Away From Home
This was our first time traveling to the Amalfi coast area and this was a perfect place to stay. My husband and I has such a wonderful, relaxing time here. It is most definitely away from the hustle and bustle of the other big cities such as Amalfi and Positano, however very accessible to the other cities. I would highly recommend renting a car if you are going to stay here. While there are bus stops available, it is a little bit of a walk on very narrow streets with no sidewalks. My husband and I were going to just try to walk and take the bus since we enjoy the walking and hiking aspect of Italy, however after reconsidering things, we rented a car and are very happy for our decision. There is plenty of parking here and was never an issue. Being a small town, there is a grocery store, bank, tabbachi shop, and a restaurant. The grocery store was small but had everything you needed. This is also where the main bus stop is located.
Guido was an excellent host. He was always available either on the property or by phone and was very helpful. His property is very large and a great place to explore. We walked around his garden and explored both on our own and then again with Guido. It was nice to have fresh fruit and vegetables available whenever needed/wanted. His home made wine was also excellent and helped relax us on our first night at the place. The apartment is also very quiet - away from the larger city noise and population. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The balcony was nice to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine and look over the cliff to see the other cities on either side of the apartment. We could access this from our room, however the main area was also open to enjoy a beverage or dessert. Guido was very accommodating, helpful, polite, and overall a wonderful host. We have discussed coming back to this area again on vacation, hopefully sooner than later, and will most definitely look up Guido.
We will definitely be back! This was the perfect place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. The location provides easy access to Amalfi and offers a phenomenal view!!!! Guido is an excellent host. There is a small store just down the road for easy snacks and drinks. This place is even better than the pictures. It is simple and beautiful and very private and quiet. We stayed in a four star hotel in Naples and by comparison this place would be a 10.
We were worried about renting a car, but we are so glad we did. the roads are narrow, but the experience was wonderful and it was definitely good to be able to go wherever we wanted. We took a private boat along the coast and to Capri - this is a MUST do! It is so beautiful to see the homes and the landscape from the water and the color of the water is amazing!!
The property is an amazing villa with all the comforts and own parking
Our experience was wonderful. Guido went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and provided us with all the comforts of home. The grounds filled with fruit trees cultivated down the cliffs were a wonderful addition. One of the best reason to stay here is the parking. Having rented a car for our stay in the Amalfi Coast, parking is a luxury as the houses and hotels are higher off the main path and involve many steps. We are looking forward to visiting and staying in this tenuta again soon and look forward to seeing Guido and all the additional surprises that he's looking to add to an already great location
We love this place
As stated in the website, the entire place is remodel based on an old farm house, owner did a very good job keeping the rusty looks of the original farm house. There is are still growing the grapes vine for the wine. It is very interested to have grape vine next to the room. It added the farm house feeling to this property.
Guido is also always around the property in case you have question or any issue. The property itself has been maintained under Guido’s family, it is in very good condition. However, this is not your typical American hotel, you will needs some directions around the property to get everything you needed.
One noted for people has issue with step stair. This property like most Amalfi coast properties. It is built around the hill side, so it has a lot stairs that are both long and steps. You cannot get around this property without those stairs, if you have an issue with stairs, then, this is not the property for you.
The location of the property is in Furore, which is about 8 miles away from the Amalfi coast marina and city center. There few restaurants and pizzeria near by in case you just want stay in and enjoy the view of the room. There is also a grocery stores about half miles away and bus stops is located the same place. However, their operations hours are quite different than what US might be costumed to, so check the store before you making the plan.
The parking around the property is free, if you have a car, please noted that among the locations Amalfi Coast that parking is always an issue, the feature along on this properties worth the rental.
it would take about 20 minutes driving plus time for parking to get the town square in Amalfi coast. The driving among the Amalfi coastal road is not the easiest things in the world, however, once you get used to it, it is not bad. There is also bus and taxi available, but they service time is very limited and I won’t counted on them to be the only transportation method if you are going to stay in Furore.
As for room, the best part of is the views, all of their rooms have the same ocean face views. The difference is only about the balcony size. The rooms itself are spacious, although not luxury, as the farm house should not be. It is equipped with all of the modern amenity such as AC
Activity and Interests
from early July to late September, the property offers a shuttle with 18 daily departures guarantee trips throughout the Amalfi coast giving the possibility to leave the car in the structure and not having any parking problems.
