About this property

Villa Risa means Home of Laughter. This beautiful Modern Spanish luxury home will provide the perfect vacation for a quiet get away, or a fun packed adventure. Villa Risa has 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms downstairs, a large living space upstairs with 3 high end sleeper sofas and a half bath. We had the option of a 3rd bedroom, but purposefully chose to make a larger living space to create awesome memories with friends and family. We placed high quality sleepers in the living area so everyone will sleep comfortably. There's also space on the master floor to sleep some kids on comfy pads we provide.

A beautiful outdoor space for grilling and relaxing is right off the main area. You certainly don't have to (you are on vacation!), but the gourmet kitchen will tempt you to stay in and cook while enjoying the view of the central coast mountains.

Wine tasting, biking and hiking trails, beach fun, excellent restaurants and coffee shops are all within just minutes of walking. A great park for kids with an adjoining basketball court is also close. The fall is a great time to visit for apple picking and tasting.

Day excursions to Hearst Castle or Big Sur are very doable, and will expose you to some of California's most stunning cliffs and secret beaches. Morro Bay, Cambria and San Simeon (where the elephant seals live) are all fun to explore.

It's just south of San Luis Obispo (SLO was voted one of the top 5 happiest cities) and nearby dozens of vineyards. SLO has the largest farmers market in California every Thursday night of the year, and Avila Beach has a lovely one each Friday night of the summer. Great shopping is all around as well as yummy seafood and all types of restaurants for every taste. If you like antiques, Arroyo Grande will delight you.

Kayaking in Shell Beach is a thrill as you paddle through caves and along the cliffs. Or, you may want to hike up Bishop's Peak or go whale watching, or deep sea fishing out of Morro Bay or San Luis Bay (near Avila Beach). Several public golf courses are nearby.

Or, you may want to just grab the beach chairs, towels and umbrella and walk down to the beach and read a good book. The options are really endless.

All of your basics will be provided. If you're renting for a week and would like a mid week cleaning that can be arranged upon request. We also have connections with a great home chef if you'd enjoy some in home gourmet food.

Do not flush anything but toilet paper down toilets. Our sump pump will break. No wipes or feminine products. Please help with this!

Beautiful and inviting

We loved every part of our stay in Villa Risa de Avila. The location was a quick walk to town. The beds and sofas were comfortable and inviting, and the hot tub was the perfect end to the day watching the sunset. We didn’t want to leave.

Our second stay was excellent again

We rented Villa Risa last year and came back this summer to meet family and friends in SLO. Perfect condition, everything well-maintained. Villa Risa is very tasteful decorated. Great spot to go to the beach or for visiting SLO and the Central Coast. Very friendly contact. We will come back again :-) Frick family from Germany

We Loved it!!

The only issue we had was that in the email it said check out is 11:00, but then at the house it says check out is 10:00. Other than that it is a gorgeous place and such a great little town and beach. My daughter and I had a blast. Thank you!

Our family has enjoyed the central coast for years. We took vacations there with our kids when they were young, and now we are having a blast with our grandkids. Four of us have graduated from nearby Cal Poly and have longed to return there ever since.
We love spending time there with our friends wine tasting, biking, hiking, or just sitting on the beach. And, of course, eating at yummy restaurants. We are two semi retired adults who are thrilled to share this unique property with you.

Why they chose this property

We love this location. It's within walking distance to all the action, but quietly tucked away if you want to get away from it all. We love the central coast because it's not overrun (especially during the off season) and still maintains it's original charm.

What makes this property unique

We love the layout of this home. The great room and kitchen and wide open patio lends itself to wonderful memories together. The style is beautiful, yet peaceful. It's uncluttered design is an easy entry into feelings of relaxation, fun and peace. There's so much to do in the area, but at the same time, it's a great house to just stay in and enjoy the atmosphere all around.
We also love that it's tucked back and quiet so if you need a quiet retreat, it serves that purpose perfectly even during the busy summer season.
