Beautiful Key West Condo

The condo was perfect for two couples. Some people might have issues with steps as there are a lot to climb. The kitchen, garden and pool are wonderful and the location in the Truman Annex is the best place to experience Key West. Close to the beach, Mallory Square and Key West fun.

Needs some tlc

Disclaimer: We were relocated to this location less than 24 hours prior to our arrival due to a major maintenance issue at our original location. We were grateful to have another location in the same general area. There are plenty of things we liked at this location but unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. Ok let’s jump in: For our week stay the receipt say it was $6891 about $3000 more than our original booking at a similar size place in nearby location with many of the same amenities. Vacasa picked up the difference. The location is quiet and gated. The beds were really comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets! There was a fire extinguisher on each floor and light blocking curtains. There were plenty of cooking utensils and plates. The pool was close enough we went almost every day. The pool was always clean and most of the time we had it to ourselves. Additionally, the wifi and cable worked well, even if we had to connect the cable to the tv ourselves. And now for the bad: When first arrived we needed to move a chair out of our way to enter the home. We immediately found 2 sets keys/key fob and a hand-written greeting and a reminder to water the plants. We later discovered that was an old note when the unit was rented prior to Vacasa. As mentioned in a previous review the keys were not labeled and NO instructions were left as to what these keys were for. Someone in our party went back and found the review from Josh and we sort of figured it out. You need those keys to enter the gated community after 6pm. The key fob opens one of gates for the car. A dead rat was off the back porch. We called Vacasa and someone came and removed it within 12 or so hours. We had a dead local lizard in the main bathroom. We absolutely understand that these animals exist in Key West. But the outside area is too cluttered and inviting to these animals; with lots of dead potted plants, broken pottery and old rusty beach chairs, trash cans and fridge. The fridge and freezer drawers inside the unit do not accommodate 4 adults for one week. It was difficult to keep a gallon of OJ and some water. The refrigerator outside worked well (unlike in another review) but it was such an inconvenience to try figure out what was where when cooking. The AC kept shutting off and after several nights of waking up hot and sweaty we changed the batteries in the thermostat using batteries from one of the extra random remotes in the house. That seemed to do the trick. That brings me to mention many drawers a full of junk; old remotes, empty dvd cases, paperwork for the house, receipts, lightbulbs and other random things tossed in. The clothes dryer is so loud it is impossible to be in the main bedroom at the same time it is running. Forget about sleeping with it on. The washer needs a deep cleaning, it smells quite musty. In general, Truman’s Garden needs some love and decluttering especially if a nearly $7000/wk rental rate is expected.

A week in paradise 🌴

Location, Location, Location. I can’t say enough about this beautifully property. It was spacious, well-appointed and serene. We will return in the My only complaint was the washing machine needed a really good cleaning, so we did but it harbored a moldy smell.

Home away from Home

This was a very nice VRBO. It was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The beds were also very comfortable. The only thing I would recommend it that they supply more trash bags. Other than that, everything was amazing. It's also so close to all the fun things Key West have to offer. Great location. Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the beautiful Keys.
