Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4

Sherri’s Terlingua Cabin is a wonderful place to relax and an excellent home base for exploring the Big Bend area. You will have quick and easy access to Big Bend National Park, the Rio Grande River, Terlingua Ghost Town, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. The cabin in within easy walking distance (1/3 mile) to the famous La Kiva Bar and Grill.

Enjoy all the conveniences of home. There is a bedroom with a full-size bed, a sleeping loft (watch your head - it is a low ceiling) with two twin beds, a bathroom, living room, and small kitchen.

The living room area has a full-size futon that can be made out as a bed. There is a small TV with a built-in DVD player. We do have a few DVDs. Feel free to bring your own but you’ll probably spend more time on the porch watching the stars and Terlingua Creek.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, bread maker, small convection oven and coffee maker. The stove works but the oven doesn’t. There is also plates, silverware, glasses for your use. Pots and pans are also provided.

The bathroom is small but has a shower, toilet and sink with hot running water.

The cabin is cooled and heated by two mini split air conditioning systems.

Sherri’s Terlingua Cabin is located on a bluff above a spring fed section of Terlingua Creek. Most of the time there is just a foot or two of water in this section of the creek. But when it rains it can become a raging torrent in the canyon below the cabin. Be careful near the edge of the cliff. The ground can shift dangerously and unexpectedly.

No pets or children under the age of 12 are allowed at the cabin.

Sherri's Terlingua Cabin overlooking The Terlingua Creek
average rating of 4.8461537 based on 13 reviews

The Cabin was cozy, quiet, and conveniently located for access to Big Bend National Park.

My wife and I loved the cabin and the town of Terlingua. We would definitely recommend Sherri's cabin and would rent it again if we return to the area. We heard a lot of good things about restraints in the area but perfected to cook at home in the vabin. There are several small stores in the area that carry everything we needed, and Sherri's provided all the necessary tools ad utensils.

The neighborhood was interesting and there were great views from the cabin at anytime of day.

Loved Sherri's Terlingua Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Sherri's Terlingua Cabin was a wonderful, convenient place to stay while visiting Big Bend National Park. The cabin was clean, homelike, near a fun restaurant and a relaxing place to return to at the end of the day...sit on the porch and enjoy the view.

Thank you!

A Great Place to Start Your Adventure

  • 5 of 5

Sherri's cabin was a great greeting to our trip out west. It was super clean, well stocked with EVERYTHING you might need or forgot to bring. The AC units worked great to keep us cool in the hot afternoons and the kitchen met all our needs. It took us until day 3 before we understood how to LOCK the door when we left. It was tricky, but we got a good laugh at how we happened to get it locked. Note: the loft upstairs is really best for kids. I am 5 ft tall and could only partially stand up in the peak of the loft. I volunteered to sleep upstairs but decided against it when I hit my head twice on the ceiling. I ended up downstairs in the bedroom and my friend slept on the futon. We were both very comfortable but were glad we didn't bring 2 more adults with us. The star gazing was amazing - bring zero gravity chairs to do your best viewing. You can set them up out front. Had we had them, I may have spent the majority of my nights out under the sky. This place is fully stocked with everything you need and beautiful quilts accent the decor. It is centrally located to everything. We ate steaks at the Kiva - they were delicious. We drove up to the bar at the El Dorado and heard some GREAT singer/songwriters perform. (note, only beer and wine there) We visited the Terlingua ghost town. Didn't see any ghosts, but the Harley riders were aplenty along with some fun shopping and poking around the cemetery. All in all, everything is close here, the accommodations were great lodging for adventures! Kudos to Sherri!

Great little cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Sherri's cabin was the perfect place for our needs. Plenty of room for two and very quiet area. There aren't too many places to stay in the area, and this was by far the nicest looking place that we saw! Very close to the entrance to Big Bend and the local restaurants. Would not hesitate to stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Clean, quiet, well-equipped

The cabin is small, but it had everything we needed. Good location for exploring Big Bend National Park. Bring lawn chairs to watch the sunrise and sunset.

The cabin was clean and conveniently located in Terlingua for trips to Big Bend and surrounding areas. We loved sitting on the porch watching the sunset and star gazing. Very quiet location away from the crowds.
