This beamed fisherman's cottage is over 200 years old and beautifully renovated in keeping with its authenticity!

During the Spring of 2013 the kitchen was totally replaced with new white units and appliances all topped with black granite surfaces. The two bathrooms have been tastefully refurbished and the inside of the property was repainted. (see photos)

The ground floor of the cottage has beamed ceilings and consists of a galley style white Ikea kitchen topped with masses of black granite work surfaces. The electric goods are also brand new. These are an induction hob, fan assisted oven, extractor fan, integral dishwasher and washing machine and a large preparation / serving area all covered in black granite. The kitchen has an excellent selection of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses. A substantial fridge / freezer provide ample cold storage, even in summer. The sitting area includes a satellite TV, Blu-ray CD player and radio, and a selection of books, DVDs and CDs. The dining table seats 8 comfortably, and the open plan arrangement provides easy access to the rear patio walled garden.

The bathrooms and beautifully refurbished, one a wet room with two showers, red glass sink and vanity unit with lots of storage facilities. Upstairs the shower room has ample storage too with a vanity unit and large glass shower unit.

There are three bedrooms upstairs, 2 with double beds and 1 with twin beds. On the ground floor there is a further twin bedroom.

Collioure is nestled amongst the rocky coastal coves, close to the Spanish border where the foothills of the Pyrénées meet the sea.

The town boasts cobbled streets of amazing colour, countless art galleries, wonderful restaurants and cafés and numerous markets and shops.

And for those seeking sand and surf, there are no less than four beaches.

But Collioure is perhaps best known for its artistic heritage.

One very special point is the garage. It can accommodate 3 cars, which is handy because in the summer it is very difficult to find parking in Collioure.

We have left Collioure after a wonderful week. The weather has been very kind

and we have managed to do some good walks, a boat trip and even had a swim!



We are presently on the train to Sevilla. It was very straight forward catching

a train to Perpignan, then another to Barcelona to connect with this one.



Your home was perfect for us, a great location, in a lovely street and very

comfortable. We had another couple join us for four nights and we all fitted in

comfortably.

Delightful townhouse a stone's throw from beach

We stayed for 2 weeks this August. House very well equipped, with new kitchen and bathrooms and good instructions for Wifi, appliances, household maintenance etc. House well-positioned next to a delightful beach with great views to the historic castle walls, and adjacent to a wide variety of restaurants, serving local fish, traditional French and Catalan tapas food. Town has an excellent market twice per week, and beach loungers can be secured with relative ease. Village feels very authentic, not showy like other more obvious destinations (eg Nice, Cannes), could not recommend more highly and will try to return.

lovely cottage, great location

A delightful cottage, well equipped, and very close to the centre, the beach, and shops. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week.

The courtyard is great - doesn’t get too hot, even in midday sun, and we spent many hours there over relaxed family meals

Lovely holiday!

We have just returned from a great holiday in this charming cottage. The cottage is charming, well equipped, clean and offers the additional perks of courtyard and garage ( both rare in Collioure!) The location is perfect, close to beaches, restaurants, shops, castle and excellent public transport links. We can certainly recommend it and look forward to returning!

Perfect pied-a-terre

We spent almost three months escaping the Canadian winter and exploring this fascinating part of France and NE Spain by car, bus, train and on foot from this delightful cottage. Just as advertised, with thoughtful extras, in a great location. A short stroll down to the beach and around the castle wall to the harbour with a variety of restaurants, cafes, small shops and art galleries, the market, boulangeries and patisseries, wine caves and seats to just watch the world go by. People friendly and helpful. Too many highlights to mention, there is so much to see and do and public transport is excellent if you want to leave the car in the garage. (The garage must be a huge plus in the summer when parking is at a premium.).

You could not find a more ideally located cottage

Collioure is my idea of a perfect French holiday village and this cottage could not be better located, within a few minutes of a safe beach, boulangerie and shops. I took my daughter's family with two small boys who absolutely loved their first visit to the Mediterranean, eating out in the cafes and swimming in the warm sea. The cottage is full of character and has everything you could wish for. We can't wait to return soon!

Andrew and I had been looking for property in France for a little while. A friend suggested that we go to the Vermillion coast; it was not an area that we had been too before. On our first visit we travelled along the coast from Perpignan and arrived in Collioure one lunchtime. We both loved it at first sight. Travelling down the mountains to the charming town we were struck but the organisation of the houses nestling in the hills. All the rooves of the houses were perfectly matched and the colours of the houses blended perfectly. But it was the town that we adored. Four beaches, cobbled streets, blue, blue sky and sea a pure artistic delight! However, it isn’t a big town you can walk everywhere and find everything that you need without ever leaving Collioure. Like us so many of our guests, have a car, but never use it and leave it standing in the garage for the whole of the holiday.

From the Owner

Our home is one minute from the sea, but it is a very quiet home. In the summer that town can be buzzing with visitors and the beaches will be full. However, just a stone's throw from the sea is Rue du Soleil, a little cobbled street. Our fisherman's cottage with its painted beams is a haven. The pink walls and blue shutters are in total keeping with the rest of the houses in the street. As soon as we opened the door to our house on the very first visit, we could see ourselves living there, and very happily for us, we do, as often as we can. We have many family holidays there, and all ages enjoy it. We find that having a bedroom and bathroom downstairs is perfect for our grandson who is disabled. It’s a perfect combination.
