The perfect base for a family holiday in Normandy
Thank you for making our break in Normandy so memorable. The house is perfect for a Normandy holiday, very comfortable and everything we needed. We loved spending an evening on the patio with some wine and walking in the nearby woods and the small villages in the area. We would recommend the local markets in Avranches and Villdieu. This is a great house and location and we would love to return one day.
We have stayed in lots of Gites in France, but this was our first trip to Normandy and it was fabulous. Starting with the house; it is perfect if you are looking for an authentic French cottage, decorated tastefully with lots of period features - we prefer this to modern bland houses. The beds are super comfortable and the peace is outstanding, quiet and dark at night which gives a perfect sleep. The orchard surrounding the house is rich with wildlife and a particular little woodpecker that kept us amused! We took a lovely day trip to Dinan, Mont Saint Michel and the market at Villdieu Les Poeles, the area is rustic, traditional and clearly rich in lovely produce. Brecey is a charming, working Norman town with all you need and certainly not overflowing with tourists. The local Boulangerie makes gorgeous pastries for the morning and the bread is divine. All in all this house tops our list for recent holidays, it is great base to explore from and relaxing to have the wood burner going whilst cooking the food from the market. The wifi really helps us plan and the comprehensive information pack from the owners provided us with vital house info and some local ideas - well done folks you have a great house!
The owners sent us a really good pack with lots of information - a good idea and we hadn't had that before. The cottage is clean, well presented and the bedrooms are really sweet and well stocked. We enjoyed the wood burner fire as we don't have one at home, but remember to get logs. My children loved playing in the orchard, and there were some kids DVD's and books to read which saved space for us. Overall a lovely house, cosy and decorated with some lovely French touches. Make sure you take a trip to Mont Saint Michel - outstanding. We will return to La Tullerie thank you Mr Tuck.
Beautiful farm house that has all modern conveniences but still retains its original character and charm.
Large bedrooms, comfy beds and heating in each room. Plenty of pillows, doonas etc.
Loved curling up on the couch in front of the wood fire at night times!
Would definitely love to have another stay here.
Normandy is so beautiful place. This holiday house of La Tullerie was a perfekt base for my family to make a holiday in this region. This house is very cute with many things to like very much. There are many good things for the cooking and for the washing of the clothes. It is great to sit in the outside with some wines and food. We are receiving good informations for things local to this house from the manager. Please visit Mont Saint Michel, so beautiful place.
What a fab place! Cozy, traditionally French with all the modern stuff folks need for a great stay. The beds were comfortable and we loved sitting by the fire with a glass of wine. There is real peace here and it helped make our Normandy pilgrimage a real pleasure.
What a delightful spot. Tucked away off a small lane, La Tullerie is rather special. There is lots we loved, the wood burner that's so cosy, the sweet bedrooms and the orchard. We have two little ones who loved going into the orchard and picked the apples - the owner suggested that we cook with some of them and we made an apple pie with Calvados! The owner (Mr Tuck) was really helpful with information on the local markets and Mont Saint Michel, and we loved both. We will definitely return next year, so it's highly recommended - but bring an alarm clock as the total peace means oversleeping!
