Antigua's very stylish ocean front villa, nestled in an elegant tropical garden, perfect for families & large groups, special rates for couples. The setting is seaside and rural, yet central for English Harbour, various favourite beaches, not too far from town.

The master suite, level with the spacious dining room, living room and modern, fully equipped and re-furbished kitchen allows apartment style living, with two further double bedrooms and a den suitable for sleeping, on the lower level. The living room opens onto the veranda, overlooking the elegant 14' by 24' pool, unspoiled beach and ocean. Songs of the sea, picturesque views, strong but not overpowering breezes blow away the cobwebs and refresh the mind. Tan on the pool deck, which now has a permanent sun shade, wander tranquil hills and peaceful beaches, cast a line & collect treasures of the sea on the quiet beach beyond the gate. Enjoy the party atmosphere of nearby English Harbour, star-spot at celebrity get-away St James's Club, or simply enjoy the astral cinema from the verandah by night. Walled round, with monitored security system, lights and safe - for peace of mind.

Before you arrive:: Please contact the owners with your specific enquiries. For best maintained cars, we at Willoughby recommend J&R Rentals. You should also request owner's hand-drawn route and written directions from airport to Willoughby to ensure you end up on the right side of Willoughby Bay, but J&R Rentals will assist new guests in their journey from the airport to the villa.

On arrival, you will find your Welcome Hamper, grocery items chosen by you for your arrival snack.

We're pleased to reserve you a table at a local restaurant. On the other hand, at Willoughby you may use the phone to make all your bookings at no extra charge. Wifi is also complimentary.

About Jean & Rolston Michael

The photo above is of Jean Michael standing in the TV area in Willoughby villa. I was born in Trinidad of an Antiguan mother and a Dominican father, grew up in England, spent 10 years in Germany, returned to England and emigrated to Antigua with Rolston in 1995. Rolston (I'll put up a picture of him later) is born of Antiguan mother and father. Our parents grew up together and met up again in Trinidad. During the years between UK and Antigua, they kept in touch - good friends forever.

Great for families

Spacious accommodation with all conveniences for a comfortable vacation. I deal for families.

Jean and Rolston are great and nothing is too much trouble. the bay is great to look at but the beach is all stones and the sargasso weed was in when we were there (Late June) so not good for swimming, but you have the pool and there are 365 other great beaches in Antigua to choose from. Lovely quiet area, with nothing around so you will need a car to get about.

English harbour is only 5 minutes away and the st James club even closer.

Fabulous Family Vacation

We had an altogether great holiday on Antigua.

Although our inbound flight was delayed we we're greeted, as arranged, at the airport by a friendly representative of the car hire company that Willoughby's owners had recommended to us. He then drove us to the Willoughby property. His service was most helpful and uncomplicated. Do ask the Michaels for his service.

Willoughby is situated directly on the waterfront of a peaceful bay. The views are unspoilt and second to none. The garden has been lovingly kept and offers practical spaces for bbqing, hanging out the laundry, and relaxing in the sun or shade.

The pool was lovely! Salt water, no chemicals! There are sun loungers too.

There is a constant refreshing breeze which helps keep mosquitoes at bay. Although the temperatures are high we had no need of the AC which is installed in every bedroom.

Willoughby is fully furbished and the kitchen is very well stocked. We had everything we needed for our family vacation. There were even some great toys for our toddler and a baby's cot. We felt immediately comfortable and at home.

Many thanks Michael family for this wonderful home from home. We would certainly book again.

A lovely relaxing stay overlooking the ocean!

We are just back from a relaxing stay at Willoughby in the Antiguan sunshine. The house is in a perfect location overlooking the ocean, and is a short drive to some lovely restaurants and beaches. Our favourite beach was half moon beach and our favourite restaurant Cloggy's in Falmouth harbour.

My son, Josh, loved swimming in the pool, and his mum & dad loved having sundowners on the deck!

Thank you to Rolston & Jean for arranging everything so well and letting us enjoy their lovely house.

Stunning view, quiet location, fantastic home away from home!

Hosts are welcoming, very friendly and helpful! Location offers a quiet and beautiful spot to base your family or group away from the cruise and tourist crowds and vendors on the other end of the island - a short drive to English Harbour, or Half Moon Bay / Antigua Paddles and Stingray City in the other direction. The pool is a great spot to cool down after a day out exploring. The balcony is breezy, with comfortable seating and a spectacular view! Everything in the house worked well. We enjoyed cool breezes and air conditioned rooms for sleeping. This would be an excellent home base for an extended family group or a group of adults. Very spacious. Gas stove is helpful when the odd power outage occurs.

We are grateful the hosts helped us find our car rental. We rented our vehicle from Egen at J & R rentals. We had a great experience with Egen, who met us at the airport and guided us to the house. Otherwise, I anticipate we would have been lost. Navigating roads requires a willingness to stop, ask locals, and laugh when you take the wrong route. Following Egen from the airport also helped our first drive through traffic circles driving on the left side of the road - yikes! Road crews repaired some of the worst pot holes the last day there, though I'm sure there will be plenty to keep you on your toes in a short while.

I wish I had brought some games or cards for the evening wind down time. WiFi worked reliably, which was helpful. Phone lines in the area haven't been working well, so we used Skype to place calls when needed.

We highly recommend this beautiful vacation rental. We hope to return. Thank you, Jean and Rolston, for a great stay!

Lovely house and great location

This is a lovely house in a beautiful location with the beach literally at the end of the garden. It's probably not a beach you would want to swim from, being on the less sheltered side and with so many wonderful beaches to choose from in Antigua, but the view from the house and garden is stunning and there is a decent, well maintained, pool. There was a good refreshing breeze during our stay which kept the house cool and airy, but there is air con throughout the property if needed.

We were a party of six needing four rooms, and the house accommodated us just fine. There were a few minor niggles and things that needed updating, but the owners were on the case immediately and very responsive to feedback.

The location is excellent, close to English and Falmouth Harbours and within good reach of shops and restaurants, although a car is essential. The owners can recommend an excellent car hire firm. Thoroughly recommended.

A Little Slice of Heaven on the Bay

You'll begin and end your days at Willoughby Villa sitting on the verandah, breathing the sea breeze and drinking in the incredible beauty of Willoughby Bay. It's truly a million dollar view and makes this property worth every penny.

Hosts Jean & Rolston will make you welcome in their clean & spacious home, equipped with everything you'll need to be comfortable during your stay. You'll feel like a millionaire lounging around the large pool in the private back yard, just 10 or 15 meters from the shore. The colorful gardens attract hummingbirds and songbirds, green and brown lizards scurry along the walls and pelicans, osprey and frigate birds soar overhead. At night the moon and stars light the sky in spectacular fashion. Life is good here.

To be clear, this isn't a mansion or even a fancy place. It's not priced like one, either. The decor could stand a bit of freshening, but after a day you'll hardly notice because it doesn't really matter. Everything functions properly and it's clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything except a dishwasher, which we seldom use anyway. The refrigerator is huge, but the icemaker wasn't working (bagged ice was provided). The clothes washer worked nicely and we dried the clothes on the large line out back. The showers worked well and we had no issues with lack of water (it rained most nights). Though the beds were a bit firm for our taste, we slept well without using the A/C, the breeze and/or ceiling fans were all we needed. The location is quiet, but still only a few minutes drive from English Harbor and Falmouth, where we did most of our shopping, drinking and dining out. We felt perfectly safe here and the house is equipped with deadbolt locks, an alarm and motion-sensing lights. The yard is fully fenced also. Parking is tight, on the shoulder of the road outside the fence. There is a steeply angled driveway down to the garage, but I'd guess only an off-road vehicle could make it up and down. Our rental sedan couldn't come close.

I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Willoughby and would absolutely recommend others considering it to call Jean and then go ahead and book it! You won't be sorry.

Owner's Response: We'll try to work on those aspects that distract from the perfection of the villa, and we shall always ensure we're on hand, that appliances work and your needs tended to promptly. We have already changed the clothes line, the new alarm key pad has been ordered, and there are new curtains in the Dolphin bedroom. Standing fans are undergoing maintenance. We long for all our guests to return to us and enjoy Willoughby's ongoing freshening up.

'Willoughby' is situated at Red Hill, Willoughby Bay, the bay next to Marmora Bay, home to world famous St. James's Club, where our guests are made welcome for restaurant dining. It is across the bay from Crossroads Drugs Rehab Centre, founded by Eric Clapton and friends. Top restaurant The Hideout is within walking distance of Willoughby. Peaceful Willoughby Bay - ideal for walking, angling, wind-surfing, snorkelling, beach combing & watching the wildlife. 'Nowhere is far' as they say in Antigua; in 1/2 hr you can be at the golf course. A 10 min. drive to English Harbour reveals a world of shopping, water-sports & exciting night-life, esp. in high season. Learn to sail at the Yacht Club; visit the romantic setting of Nelson’s Dockyard & other famous historic sites. Enjoy local popular music? Shirley Heights is the place with steel pan and reggae. The capital St John’s, 25 mins. drive away, has a wealth of shopping and restaurant facilities. It's a 30 min. drive to the airport.

The end of the low season is often very quiet. This year, I've decided to offer a 10% discount on bookings between 27th August and 25th November 2017. Bigger discounts are a problem, since September and October nights tend to be very warm, and air conditioning is a must.
