About the property

2 Bedroom apartment with free WiFi in the heart of Dorsoduro

Perfectly situated between the Salute and the Accademia, Ca Venetia has undergone a complete renovation turning this traditional Venetian building into a beautiful modern retreat. It has two spacious bedrooms, a sitting room and a kitchen with dining area. Set on the first floor, access is gained through a shared hallway and stair case.

On arrival, the apartment is easy to reach. From Marco Polo Airport, the Alilaguna Blue Line will take you to Zattere, which is a very short walk from the front door. If you arrive at the Piazzale Roma or the railway station, it is very simple to take a Vaporetto to Accademia, which is also a very short walk from the apartment.

San Marco, Rialto and all of the major sites in Venice are within easy walking distance. Dorsoduro itself is a very lovely area - full of interesting shops and atmospheric squares, it is less crowded than the very busy centre and is quiet at night. However, a ten-minute walk from the apartment gets you to Campo San Barnaba or Campo Santa Margherita, where you will find plenty of lively bars and restaurants.

The Peggy Guggenheim Gallery is a five minute walk away, and of course the Accademia is also very close; there are several galleries and art shops in the area. The university is also in this part of town, so there is no shortage of bookshops.

There are two supermarkets within easy walking distance - one at the end of the Zattere and another in Campo Santa Margherita. A floating greengrocer can be found in Campo San Barnaba, and you can buy very good fresh fish from a stall in Campo Santa Margherita in the mornings.

The master bedroom has a beautiful wooden double bed ideal for a romantic night in; the second bedroom has twin single beds. Both bedrooms are fitted with mosquito nets at the windows and the apartment has central heating and air conditioning.

The sitting room has a comfortable sofa for relaxing after a long day sightseeing. It has a flatscreen TV, DVD player and iPod/iPhone dock. There is also free WiFi.

The Kitchen is well appointed and includes a full size dish washer and washing machine, a microwave, fridge freezer and coffee machine. There are plenty of things for chopping, slicing, sieving and cooking!

The Bathroom has a full size bath with shower, toilet, basin and bidet.

Ca' Venetia has been carefully restored with the aim of providing relaxation, comfort and practicality. It is in a fantastic location and we hope that it will provide an excellent base for your perfect Venetian experience.

The rental cost includes all cleaning, but there is an additional fee for 'meet and greet' which is payable in cash directly to the person who meets you, shows you the apartment, explains how everything works, and issues you with your keys. This fee is currently 43EUR between 10.00 and 19.30, and 61EUR between 19.30 and 23.30. This is standard practice in Venice. The greeter will also ask you for your card details to act as a security deposit when you arrive. We also ask guests to sign a short-term contract which we will email you as soon as you book.

If the dates you have enquired about are available we will hold them for you exclusively for 48 hours. I after this time you have not booked the dates are booked on a first come first served basis. Your booking is not secure until payment has been received.

Beautiful Venetian Retreat in the Heart of Dorsoduro very close to Accademia
average rating of 4.2352943 based on 17 reviews

Great place with easy access to everywhere!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful stay! Enjoyed the apartment so much! There was a wonderful cross breeze so we didn't even need to use the air conditioner. The grocery is a little bit of a walk so bring the red cart by the door. We loved Venice so much and will come back to this apartment for sure. Thank you so much!

Great value for families visiting Venice!

  • 4 of 5

This apartment worked well for our family's first trip to Venice! While we didn't spend a whole lot of time inside, there was enough room for all five of us, and the location in Dorsoduro was good. The apartment was clean, and the only trouble we had was figuring out how the clothes washer worked, but we managed to get it working! The greeter met us at the Accademia Vaporetto stop, and showed us the apartment. The kitchen was great, with enough pots, pans and utensils for us to make dinner one night. There's a well-stocked grocery store within a 10-minute walk. We really didn't need to use the A/C at all, but if we had that might have been an issue since we turned it on once and it was very noisy. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay and consider this place a good value for our family of five!

Beautiful Location, well equipped just like home.

  • 5 of 5

Ca' Venetia is a beautiful 2 bed apartment. There were only three of us staying but the place could have easily taken 5 as there were 3 single beds and the huge double. The place is quiet but still near enough to walk to all the attractions and there were many bars and eateries close by. We also put the well equipped kitchen through it's paces and didn't feel anything was lacking. We will be back!

Wonderful place to stay in Venice

  • 5 of 5

It is fantastic location, easy walk everywhere. The Academia Bridge (Ponte dell'Accademia) crosses the Grand Canal and links the San Marco district with the Academia gallery. It offers two of the best views in Venice, looking alone the Great Canal in each direction. On one side lies the dome of Santa Maria della Salute, and on the other is the San Marco district, and is around ten minutes' walk to the Rialto and St. Mark's.There are street signs to the Academia which will lead you to the bridge. There is a vaporetto stop right next to the bridge, on the Dorsoduro side.

We were met by the assistant of manager named Julia who was really friendly and showed us everything in the apartment. It really clean and bright had everything we needed for our short stay.Very nice accommodation with a decent bathroom. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely apartment, great location.

  • 5 of 5

Apartment was great for our family of four. Separate bedrooms and good kitchen/dining. The Dorsoduro neighbourhood is perfect for exploring Venice. Far enough away from tourist crowd to enjoy some serenity but close and convenient to wherever you wish to go. Can walk or catch vaporetto. Supermarket 10 mins walk away if you wish to prepare meals. Local cafes and bars nearby. Our first time to Venice but definitely not our last!

Great location, difficult communication

  • 3 of 5

We had the opportunity to stay in Victoria's apartment two weeks back. It is a great flat, with a nice location off of one of the canals. Great reccomnedations in her binder as well. The Dorsoduro is quite nice, and although just across the bridge from the St Marks side, it is much more low key and quiet, filled mostly with locals.

Communicating with Victoria has been quite challenging. In planning a several week trip to Italy from the US (during high season) I wanted to make sure everything was confirmed. Multiple times I had issues. The first time I paid the deposit, but it was rejected because it was never confirmed by the owner. Stated it was internet issues - finally resolved after 5 days or so. The second time was about 5 weeks before the trip. My other 3 rentals had all provided me all the details necessary. Sent, one, two, three emails over the course of 10 days, no response to any. Finally, I asked to cancel. She then replied the very next day stating she was moving across country, and apologized for not replying. If it wasnt for the other positive reviews, I would have thought it was a scam at this point.

Regardless, we did get the details from the local greeters, which were great. Great communication, and met us promptly when we arrived at the vaporetto stop. Showed us to the property, and we had a great stay. I must say that the lack of communication was stressful to say the least.

Dorsoduro has the benefit of being a quiet area of Venice within very easy reach of all the principal attractions. The apartment is within a few minutes' walk of the beautiful church of the Salute, The Academia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Nearby are the lively squares of San Barnaba and Santa Margarita. St Mark's Square can be reached on foot within twenty minutes, as can the Rialto Bridge.

Dorsoduro has plenty to offer in terms of bars and restaurants and there is a supermarket within easy walking distance of Ca' Venetia if you feel like eating in.

The famous Zattere promenade is less than two minutes walk away, and this offers incredible views over the Guidecca Canal, often with sensational sunsets.
