Decorated to a high standard, Sandbanks is a luxurious maisonette apartment, which sleeps 4-5 people, situated right in the heart of the rural village of Crantock. It is close to the village amenities of the local pubs, bakery, tea rooms, grocery store and village post office. Situated on Beach Road, it is just a short walk down to the wide sweeping sandy beach of Crantock. Guests also have the use of the award winning beautiful garden which surrounds the property.

Sandbanks offers truly flexible accommodation. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, one double room, one twin room and one room with a bunk bed (double bed at the bottom and single bunk on top), therefore offering a very flexible set up with flexible sleeping arrangements for your group or family. The property also has two brand new shower rooms, one of which is positioned flexibly so that it can be ensuite with the twin bedroom if desired, which again offers flexibility to suit your needs.

It is important to note that although it is possible to sleep 6 people at the property, the living area is designed to comfortably accommodate 4 people, therefore there is a maximum of 5 people in total including children. We also limit the property to 4 adults, so that the property is not overcrowded, as I think 5 adults would feel a little crowded downstairs!

Downstairs there is an open plan well equipped kitchen, equipped with combination microwave oven, fridge/freezer, 2 ring hob and a washing machine. There is a breakfast bar which seats 4 and a living area, complete with soft seating for 4 people, beanbag and TV and DVD. The entire property is newly decorated to a high standard and is bright and airy.

The house has free wifi for guests to use. Bed linen and towels are provided. Please note there is no cot/high chair at the property.

Guests can also enjoy the award winning colourful garden which surrounds the property. With all day sun, you will always be able to find a place to enjoy the sun, whether relaxing in the evening with a drink by the pond, or settling down with a good book in a sunny corner during the day.

Other outside facilities include use of a washing line, tap and hose and space for 2 cars to park on the driveway.

Prices include continental breakfast items for your first morning. (Bread, Milk, cereals, orange juice, tea, coffee and sugar)

Very nice apartment and good value

Just returned from a very enjoyable week at Sandbanks Cottage with our 2 young children.

We received a warm welcome from Alison on arrival, who despite living next door was never intrusive throughout our stay. We were pleased to find a few essentials in the apartment to get us going, together with all the beds made up and lots of spare towels.

The apartment is comfortable, clean and everything well maintained. Bedrooms and bathrooms all great. Kitchen and dining facilities are perhaps best suited to basic meals as there's only a 2 ring hob and microwave oven (no conventional oven), and dining is around a breakfast bar rather than separate table.

The apartment is ideally located in the heart of Crantock, just a minutes walk from the well stocked village shop and a couple of nice pubs. Crantock Beach is spectacular and only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the apartment.

In summary, a really good apartment in a great location, and good value. Would recommend.

Everything we needed, even several days breakfasts, tea & coffee & lovely garden.

Fell in love with Crantock, what a gem! A picturesque village with everything we needed, good pub/restaurant, tea garden, friendly shop with hot pasties & takeaway pizzas. 5 mins from beautiful beach with good surfing, surf school, sand dunes & coastal walk. Perfect for active teenagers & middle aged parents & 10 mins from the business of Newquay if you really want that. Apartment, really semi detached house, had everything we needed, clean & generously equipped, you really could just hop in the car & come here.

Fabulous apartment

Immaculate apartment in fabulous location . Amazing garden with perfect suntrap beside the pond. Owners are very welcoming and friendly. Towels and bedding changed mid stay because we were staying for a fortnight. Would very happily stay again!

Good quality, home from home, nice location

Good quality, spacious property. Nice quiet location in Crantock, only 5 mins walk to beach, 10 mins drive from Newquay.

Friendly owners live next door should you need anything.

The property itself sleeps up to 6 however there were only 3 of us. There is a second bathroom and further bedroom if there are 6 people.

There is free wifi which is a bonus, and owners provided milk, bread, etc ready for our arrival which was a nice touch. The kitchen is stocked with essentials (fridge with mini freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, hob, microwave, etc - However there is no oven but we managed well enough with hob and multi function microwave).

Crantock itself is a small village, with 2 pubs, a tea room, post office / shop, and bus stop all within 30 seconds walk. Also there is a Morrisons about 10 mins drive.

I would definitely recommend this property, ideal for families or couples, and hope to visit again soon.

Located in the rural village of Crantock, our apartment offers the perfect setting to explore the stunning North Cornish Coast. The apartment itself is just a 5 minute walk to the wide sweeping sandy bay of Crantock. The bay is lifeguard patrolled and perfect for swimming, surfing (inc. lessons) and body boarding. Crantock beach was rated by the BBC series 'Coast' as Britain’s number 1 beach.

The BBC’s description of Crantock: “This quaint hidden cove is the place to escape the rowdy hordes in nearby Newquay. Set at the bottom of a quintessentially English village with two charming pubs, you’ll find it by wandering through the National Trust car park. Scale the looming dune and you’ll be rewarded with a goose-pimple inducing view. To the right of the bay, the tidal River Gannel offers ferry runs from the beach to Fern Pit. Here you can order a cooked lobster, caught that morning, or opt for a stunning cliff top walk along the headland overlooking the bay”.

This beautiful coastal area forms part of a National Trust Conservation Area and is great for both coastal cliff walks and inland moorland rambles. To the North of Crantock Bay lies the Gannel estuary which separates Crantock from the fishing town of Newquay. The estuary has created a beautiful sandy haven for countless seabirds. Why not enjoy a leisurely evening stroll along the rivers edge at high tide and see what you can see, or alternatively take to the water to try your hand at kayaking or Stand up paddle boarding trip, both available locally.

The picturesque village of Crantock, with its lovely thatched cottages, offers a tea room, a 400 year old thatched pub serving good quality food, a bakery, a beach café, a grocery store, a post office and a cliff top restaurant overlooking the sea.

Nearby is the secluded beach of Polly Joke, without a car park and only accessed via a footpath - it is perfect for relaxing far away from it all.

Also nearby, is the vibrant fishing town of Newquay, which can be accessed by foot, ferry or road from Crantock. Newquay has excellent attractions for both adults and children, including a zoo, aquarium, indoor fun pool with flumes, boating lake and a theme park. Newquay also boasts 4 large beaches, which offer a variety of water based activities including, surfing lessons, coasteering, paddle boarding and fishing trips.

For Golf enthusiasts there is Newquay’s Golf Club - an 18 hole course with magnificent sea views which is part of the Reciprocal Golf Network. Or you can walk across Cubert common to Holywell Bay’s golf club.

Crantock is also a great base for visiting the cathedral town of Truro (13 miles away), which has excellent shopping, museums and restaurants. A little further is the harbour town of Falmouth (23 miles away), with a fantastic maritime museum and plenty of opportunities for windsurfing, kayaking and sailing.

Other local attractions include the world famous Eden Project (Botanical Gardens) (21 miles away) and The Lost Gardens of Helligan and other national trust houses and gardens. Similarly children will have plenty to do with many local activity centres and theme parks.
