Lovely retreat close to amenities and east-side attractions
We had an absolutely lovely stay at Casita Naranja. If you want good value accomodation in Tucson without compromising on facilities, and you like a bit of space and a view this is the place for you!
The 4 of us fitted in nicely with plenty of space (mum & dad in the double and 2 teenage kids in separate beds in the huge spare room, using an extra air bed we took). The Casita living room is quite a bit more spacious than it looks in the pictures. The only thing I'd say is the bathroom is accessed via the main bedroom, this was fine for us.
Marilyn is an excellent host, she told us about the bathroom ahead of time, provided extra sheets for the air bed and welcome nibbles plus local information. The Casita is beautifully decorated, has lovely relaxing views and stunning sunsets with desert vegetation all around. We're from the UK so the December temperatures were perfect for us, we even had a barbecue!
The Mount Lemmon Highway and Sabino Canyon are nearby (as well as Safeway and some good restaurants). We eat at Sachiko Sushi 10 mins away which was excellent and took advantage of the kitchen the other nights so we could enjoy the location. The 50 minute drive to Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum was easy and we got to see the center of Tucson on the way.
Thanks Marilyn for a lovely stay, if we visit Tucson again we'll be in contact!
