About Sallie Jeeves

I bought this old 1 star (10 bed ) hotel and spent 3 years restoring the property back to its 18th century origins. Furnishing it with possessions from 20 years in Provence. It has been featured in several European Interior magazines.

Sallie Jeeves purchased this house in 2007

Why Sallie Jeeves chose Fontvieille

I had always stayed here in the past when it was a hotel and the chance to buy it came along just as I had sold a previous property in the nearby village of Paradou. It has been a labour of love and now it is a tranquil home form home for me and my family who live in London.

Gracious and relaxed home

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is very beautiful, and yet welcoming and relaxed. The beds were very comfortable, and there are plenty of bathrooms, which was extremely convenient for our family group. The terrace off the kitchen could not be more delightful.

Fontvieille is a pleasant market town with plenty to offer in terms of market, bakeries, small shops, and restaurants. (American visitors take note: you need reservations at a restaurant!) We had some lovely meals out of the markets: amazing local produce (strawberries, asparagus, olives) and delicious roasted meats, potatoes, and paella. We took day trips to the Camargue, Arles, Avignon, Les Baux and Nimes. There are many more lovely places to see than we had time for this trip. We also enjoyed walks in and around Fontvielle itself.

Our host made us feel very welcome and communicated freely. I would happily return and recommend it highly.

Beautiful Provencal villa in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

Our group felt like locals staying in the beautiful villa. A great, central location to enjoy all that Provence has to offer.

Very Pleasant.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The house was well located for visiting Provence.

I am more concerned about receiving a refund of the damage deposit.

Thanks, John Banks

Beautiful Home in the Heart of a Beautiful Town

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful. As beautiful as the photos suggest. And as grand. And as comfortable. We were 4 adults. Having 4 bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, was absolutely perfect. The village setting is charming. It proved to be a great location for day trips, including visits to Montpellier, Les Baux, Avignon, Arles, Saint-Remy-de-Provence. There are far more restaurants, and good ones at that, and boulangeries in Fontvieille than one would expect in a place of this size, all within walking distance of the house. We began and ended our visit at the same restaurant, La Table de Meunier, just around the corner from the house. It was lovely. The other nights, we cooked dinner in the comfortable kitchen and ate in the dining room overlooking the front terrace. Parking in front of the house was never available, but there was a free public parking lot very nearby at the end of the street that had over 50 spots (just a couple of doors away from the restaurant and on the same side of the street). Not sure what it would be like in peak season, but we were always able to get a spot. Definitely, the place to park, rather than searching for a spot on one of the narrow streets. Sallie was very responsive and very helpful, providing answers to any questions I had. A couple of small observations. For those who like to drink lots of coffee in the morning, there is only a French press coffee maker. It makes good coffee, but not enough at one time for four people. The internet signal was not as strong on the main floor as it was on the upper two floors (the router is on the third floor). Very happy to recommend this lovely house.

Gorgeous French home!

  • 5 of 5

This house is impeccably decorated with French antiques but at the same time very comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, 2French presses, and wine glasses -- the only thing missing was a big pot for pasta. The house easily accomodated myself and 3 friends, with each of us having our own bedroom with a private bath. You will definitely need a car to see the surrounding countryside. Wifi wasn't very strong but there are many places in town with free wifi. Loved it!!

A attractive comfortable " De Provence " property.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed an excellent holiday in this fine property that is situated in a quiet location within the attractive village of Fontvieille. Its two patio areas allow all day access to the normally brilliant Provence sunshine.

The Village has a good heart beat with several restaurants and bars together with markets two days a week.

The location is excellently placed for exploring the many attractive villages and towns of the region.

We are happy to recommend Maison Laetitia for all wishing to enjoy the delights of Provence.
