Luxury house for nature lovers 2 bedrooms , 3 bathrooms 2 with jacuzzi
Wonderful house for nature lovers who want to disconnect from the stress, panoramic views, incomparable, the mountains, the people, the sky. 10 minutes from the beach, the best restaurants on the island. Sandy beaches, rocky beaches. Very near the Golf Pollensa `Ca'n Bregat in 10 minutes. An enchanting reformed farmhouse cottage in an idyllic private location, set in the very heart of the Colonya Valley, surrounded by green woodland and pretty olive groves.
It's a villa full of lovely surprises. The house is extremely private and peaceful with the most amazing views down into the valley. A tranquil spot for a quiet nature holiday but with Pollenca Old Town just a short drive away for fantastic restaurants or for the bustling Sunday morning market.
The villa is at the very end of a quiet lane and has a large gravelled parking area with a pretty mirador that has a small table and chairs from where to enjoy the fabulous views.
The pool area has surrounding sun terraces with a low balustrade wall next to a covered barbecue casita with bench table and chairs and corner sofas.
Three steps up lead to a large covered terrace that runs the full length of the villa. There is a solid distressed wood dining table here with wrought iron backed chairs, antique farming implements, stone seating with pretty cushions, beautiful plant pots and a comfy wicker sofa and table to relax with a book and a glass of wine. Arabic lights give an eclectic bohemian feel and a calming atmosphere.
There is also a 'chill-out' covered area at the side of the terrace furnished with a white mattress with a canopy and seating. There is also a luxury exterior shower bathroom with a large walk-in shower, wc and sink unit.
The entrance to this stunning villa is through a mallorcan low-beamed solid wood door on the terrace and leads into this delightful villa that has original open stone walls and beamed ceilings. There is a solid wood and glass dining table with a large chandelier hanging above. The design is a fusion of traditional Mallorcan farmhouse with a contemporary interior and the effect is amazing.
The kitchen is open plan and is to the left. It has white units with an island for the sink and storage units. There is a modern vitro hob with a large stainless steel cooker hood, a split level oven and microwave, a large fridge freezer and a small dispenser with mallorcan wood door.
The lounge is to the right and is decorated simply with open stone and neutral walls, a cream sofa and a distressed coffee table. There is a flat screen TV here with a DVD player and wood-burning stove. A door with small glass panes leads onto the front covered terrace.
Between the lounge and the dining room is a stairway leading to the upper level bedrooms. On the left is a fantastic twin bedroom (beds pushed together) that has sloping beamed ceilings with spotlights, deep red painted walls and striking bedside tables and arabic wall lights. There is a large picture window that looks out over the valley across rolling fields towards Pollensa. The bathroom is completely inside the bedroom and has a wc separated from view by a small dividing wall. There is a large modern sink unit and a large corner jacuzzi bath.
To the right of the stairway is another bedroom that has two beds pushed together decorated with distressed white wood furniture. This bedroom also has the bathroom integrated into the bedroom with the wc hidden from view by a small dividing wall. It has a rectangular jacuzzi bath and both baths have a hidden pull out shower attachment for showering. There is also a glass sink on a pedestal here and pretty small paned windows overlooking the front of the villa.
There are air-conditioning units for hot and cold air in the bedrooms.
The Casa Rafalet is a hidden jewel which is something different and special from a lot of other villas set admist beautiful scenery. It is pefect for families or friends who require a quirky property in a peaceful location.
It's simple, sure there are bigger house, more luxurious, more modern, but none is located on this site. At the top of a mountain, La Penya of Rafalet, our property, with stunning views, you feel the master of the world just 10 minutes from the nearest town, and to round out this gift of nature, a remodelled home with exquisite taste and love. house that originally was for 6 people, we remodelled for 4 people, to be very comfortable and spacious, has 2 Jacuzzis, spacious rooms, 30-meter room, dining kitchen very comfortable and current. A large porch to do 'siesta' , with a chill out. The house has a sufficient pool to cool off and enjoy on hot days and summer and all the year . Another great proche with barcacoa. There are three large tables, sofas on the terrace, in the dining room sofas, hammocks, etc. and all this only for 4 people maximum.

About the Owner
Hello, my name is Mariangels, I am the daughter of the owner of the house. This house is originally from my grandfather, my mother was born here and my aunt. My grandfather Peter, was a farmer and this house was one of the most important in the area, with sheep, olives, etc.. Now my mother, a lover of art, decoration and tourism, remodelled the house, to make it more current. (We have made many reforms in 200 years).

Paradise in Pollensa.
Beautiful villa modernised to a high specification but keeping the traditional feel. Idyllic location in the mountains with fantastic scenery. Villa well equipped and spotless. Would highly recommend a stay there.
Stunning location with absolute privacy
This was our first villa holiday away from a villa complex with the hustle and bustle which that provides, so we were a little nervous of venturing into new territory. However, as soon as we arrived at the top of the hill, at the last house at the end of a dead end road, we realised that this privacy and isolation was exactly what we had been looking for and we completely relaxed into our holiday straight away.
The villa is so picturesque in traditional Mallorcan style and so cool and comfortable inside. We spent the majority of our week outside in the numerous seating areas and in the gorgeous (clean) pool, and only went inside to sleep! The bedrooms are air conditioned and one in particular had the most amazing view over the valley!
We had not appreciated the villa's proximity to the beautiful Pollenca and enjoyed several evenings out in local restaurants, returning to our secluded villa for late night swims and to sit on the comfortable viewing platform to watch the sun disappear behind the hills.
I cannot emphasise the incredible views from this villa. All you see are hills and trees and the valley and lights from villas far off in the distance. You do not hear anything other than the sound of goats' bells and cicadas in the trees, there are no passing cars, no noisy neighbours, just you.
So, if you are after total peace and quiet and no disturbance in a beautiful traditional villa in stunning surroundings, this is one for you. If you prefer a bit more life around you whilst you soak up the sun then you will have to make do with the daily visits from wild goats who visited for a drink from the pool (whilst we were in it!).
On a practical note, the villa was as described, although I didn't find the washing machine until day 3 and there was no 'manual' on the villa or surroundings. For some reason I had expected wifi but there is not, but that was actually a blessing! The villa owners were always at the end of the phone if we needed help (in particular when there was a power cut one evening, we were rescued by the owners bearing torches at 9:00 at night!). Having read previous reviews, we made sure to take bin bags and dishwasher tabs, but cloths and washing up liquid were there when we arrived. We would have preferred more than one tea towel, but actually, who wants to spend their holiday drying up the dishes?!
Four big thumbs up from myself, my husband and our 7 and 8 year old children!
Wonderful little villa with amazing views
The villa is very true to the description. It's an amazing place to spend lazy days reading and playing in the pool. The views are stunning from sunrise to sunset, and yet you can get to Pollenca in 10mins and Puerta Polleca in 20 mins. Although the villa is small, it is easily large enough for 4 people and couldn't be better supplied with different areas to sit outside.
Some suggestions for improvement:
- missed not having a visitors book which is always useful to see recent visitor suggestions;
- there was no table tennis table which is advertised and we were looking forward too. We would prefer to the bed next to the pool as there's plenty of seating already;
- the drawers, plates and cutlery we were not as clean as they might have been. This was probably due to the dishwasher we had to give a major clean and service to get to work properly. The water seems to be very hard, and so the dishwasher needs lots of salt. May be worth leaving salt there and instructions;
- there's a bit of an infestation of ants in the kitchen no matter how clean you keep it.
- there were a number of safes but they weren't usable. We would have liked to use them as even though Majorca a safe I think this villa would be easy to break into given its location.
These are fairly minor things in the grand scheme of things, a for us would make a wonderful place perfect! We certainly plan to return again.
Thank you Mariangels.

A wonderful place for rest and relaxation!
We arrived at El Rafalet late at night, the lights were lit outside and we jumped right into the pool! The next day we woke up to birds singing and a wonderful view. This was just a wonderful space with seating throughout, two bedrooms with whirlpool and air conditioning. A place for rest and relaxation. We were visited by wild goats every day and rabbits at night.
The only thing we missed was a little more kitchen utensils and dish soap, dishwasher powder and wipes.
I didn't want to leave
Quite simply one of the best holidays I have ever had.
I have holidayed all over the world and Eu Rafalet demonstrates that you don't have to travel far to discover beauty and tranquility.
I stayed with my husband, sister and brother-in-law for 13 nights. Our flight was delayed and my research on Google street view came in handy as we had to find the villa in the dark, which we hadn't anticipated. Mariangels said the villa would be lit up and waiting for us and the most wonderful sight met us. The outside lights were on and had attracted geckos to catch the bugs, the cicadas were singing, goat bells were tinkling in the valley and the stars were twinkling. Despite arriving near midnight we sunk down in the comfy chairs on the veranda and polished off the bottle of red wine we had bought, along with milk, in desperation at the airport. Thankfully a bag of muesli in a suitcase could be tomorrow's breakfast.
The next morning the full charm of Eu Rafalet and it's surroundings was revealed. The sun was just up and everywhere was basking in a warm golden glow. Wild chicory had burst into a cloud of blue flowers (which caused a double-take later in the afternoon as they all disappeared, to return the next morning). Goats were climbing the trees in the field (yes, really). The birds were singing. The pool was rippling. (Honestly, I don't talk like this!! This is the bizarre affect of Eu Rafalet!!)
Aside from some sightseeing and visits to Cala Vicenc (there are three little coves there, two with sandy beaches, cafe's etc. Don't look for a beach called 'Cala Vicenc' as there isn't one), much of our decision making centred around what to eat, when and where to sit to eat/play games.
Mariangels and her mother and aunt came to greet us and were obviously bursting with justifiable pride when we told them how much we loved their old family home.
The mirador is beautiful at any time of day or night. I recommend sitting by the pool for evening meals because you get a marvellous flying display from the bats as the sun drops behind the mountains.
I could go on and on.
On a practical note, the house is well equipped for 4 people, the beds are firm but comfortable, the air conditioning a godsend.
We would have appreciated some washing up liquid, dishcloths and bin bags. We left some, so hope they remained to benefit the next guests.
Thank you Mariangels, Francesca and family, from the bottom of my heart, for a magical time at Eu Rafalet.
Amazing Finca with stunning views

Activity and Interests
A very special house in the middle of the mountain. At night you can see the starry night with no light pollution. For lovers of astrology, amanates of nature, tranquility. You can spot hawks, wild goats, etc.
The most beautiful and picturesque area of Mallorca is the Pollenca region which has a unique charm and beauty, and is the ideal destination for quality, family villa holidays. Pollença Old Town is a peaceful and tranquil town that remains very typically Spanish. It is four miles from the coast, nestling between two hills at the eastern end of the Tramuntana mountains. Pollença itself is indisputably pretty. Historic buildings with ochre roofs, sun-baked walls and wooden shutters line the narrow and twisting medieval streets. There are pastel-painted houses in the centre and Moorish water mills on the outskirts. It's also a haven of sleepy Mallorcan traditions - café life and the siesta roll on here as they always have. The heart of the old town is the central square, Plaça Major, where there are many café-bars and fine restaurants. Pollença also has lots of galleries of Mallorcan art and design, and a town museum. The most famous walk in Pollença is up the 365 steps of the tree-lined 'Calvario' - the Calvari Hill. There is a tiny church at the top with amazing views over the town and across wooded valleys to the sea
Puerto Pollensa is host to long sandy beaches that curve around the bay and are divided by breakwaters and so are ideal for children. There are also a number of small, natural, sand and pebble beaches to explore. The atmosphere in Puerto Pollensa is relaxed with no loud discos or nightclubs, but a fine variety of open-air cafés, restaurants, boutiques and shops.
The countryside around Pollenca Old Town and Puerto Pollensa is amongst the most stunning and picturesque in the Mediterranean. Lush green dramatic valleys, litterered with grazing mountain goats and sheep and beautiful rural famrland hillsides dotted aournd picturesque monasterys and farms are the typical view from your garden here. The great advantage here is that you are only within 5-10 minutes drive of supermarkets, restaurants and bars of the old Town and Puerto ollensa shoudl you wish to drag yourself away. Choose one of our private villas or farmhouses here to appreciate this stunning location and be the envy of your friends.
Taste: Pollença old town boasts some of the best restaurants on the island. From traditional Mallorcan to international cuisine, each has its own blend of atmosphere and tradition.
Weekly Market: It's especially lively in Pollença on market day, every Sunday morning, with stalls selling fruit, flowers, local crafts, clothes and household goods.
Discover: Pollença is nestled between two hills. One of these hills is Puig de Maria with an 18th-century monastery perched on the summit - a walk to the top is well worth the effort for spectacular views over Pollença and down to the sea.
Supermarkets: Large SYP/ Eroski Centre situated just off the main Pollença to Puerto Pollença, plus two in the town centre.
Cala San Vicente, another of the best-kept secrets in the North of Mallorca. It's a quiet and relaxed resort surrounded by mountains with pine-covered slopes that run down to the sea. The sparkling blue waters and the three sandy coves are very child-friendly. The spectacular countryside here is also ideal walking country, popular with ramblers and painters.
Bonaire is an exclusive residential area on the peninsula around the bay of Pollença towards Alcudia with a pretty marina called Puerto Cocodrilo and a lovely sandy beach called Mal Pas. Son Serra de Marina with its appealing marina and sandy beach is 8km from the larger resort of Ca'n Picafort which shares the same sweeping bay as Alcudia. Ca'n Picafort's lively but friendly and relaxed atmosphere is ideal for families and couples.
The regions of Pollença
ternelles valley: a lush green valley to the north of Pollença old town, and has a lane eventually running through to the ruined castle, Castell del Rei, high up in the mountains.
la font: an upmarket countryside residential area on the outskirts of Pollença old town within walking distance.
puig maria: the 18th•century monastery with its' tiny restaurant of 'our lady of the puig' dominates Pollença old town. The famous walk is well worth trying one morning or late afternoon.
