Great location, wonderful cottage

  • 5 of 5

Doon House is a hidden gem of a Connemara cottage near the village of Moyard off the road between Clifden and Letterfrick. This made it convenient to visit the colorful town of Clifden and the Connemara National Park, the Killary Fjord and points beyond. The cottage is adjacent with the owner’s property and their large green garden. The two level apartment has both bedrooms upstairs, one with ensuite bathroom with tub, and a shower-bathroom downstairs, off the main living room area. There is a well-stocked kitchen (with dishwasher and washing machine), a sun room eating area and a comfortable sitting area complete with a wood or peat burning fireplace. The owner was accessible for any questions which came up and offered useful suggestions for entertainment and sightseeing activities in the area. Don’t miss the Ballynahinch Castle Hotel Estate walks and the interesting experience associated with Omey Island!

Lovely cottage, we'll prepared and presented.

  • 5 of 5

Our cottage was comfortable and cosy, and Dave and Janet were friendly and welcoming hosts. The cottage is well positioned to explore Connemara, with the National Park Visitor centre very close. The scenery is truly spectacular, amazing land and seascapes. We particularly enjoyed a boat trip on Killary Fjord, and the food on the boat was as amazing as the scenery!

Thanks Dave & Janet for the opportunity to stay in the heart of Connemara.

Parfait petit cottage pour découvrir le Connemara / Perfect little cottage to discover Connemara

  • 5 of 5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The house is simple and very comfortable. The main bedroom is spacious and very pleasant. I slept very well, it was totally noiseless.

The house is very well located to discover the area, it's really in the heart of the Connemara.

The house is attached to the house of the owners, but they are very discreets, and in the same time, they are very available to advice about places to visit, or if it's needed, about the house.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. Lovely homely house on a great location in the middle of Connemara. The home-owners gave us some great suggestions to visit. In Letterfrack and Clifden were enough shops for food etc and nice restaurants. If we visit Connemara again, we will return to this home.
