Sleeps 4, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom
Piso Pallera is a great apartment for 4 people located in very scenic and beautiful surroundings. The apartment is part of a large house, Casa Ruralera, where there are two other holiday apartments. This large house shares a huge garden where there are two swimming pools, football and volley. This authentic apartment and location will lay a solid base for an unforgettable holiday in the Catalan hills.
The surroundings and the garden are the big plus at Piso Pallera, and it is something that especially children will find wonderful. There are nice animals that freely walk around on the property, some of which can be hand fed: Sheep and lambs, rabbits, geese, peacocks and horses. These animals are not part of a farm - they are there mainly for the guests and the owner’s pleasure. Furthermore, there are two shared swimming pools on the property, one small and one large, where you, with a breathtaking view of the mountains, can cool off in the sun and heat. The two pools are equipped with sun loungers. Around the garden, there are seating arrangements, where a lunch can be enjoyed.
The hilly landscape and the surrounding trees provide a private and relaxed atmosphere. Also in the area, there is an idyllic river with small waterfalls, where you can bath and maybe try to catch yourself a fish. The owners' camping site is situated just 10 minute’s walk from the apartment, where you can buy ice cream and similar. Here, there is also a huge swimming pool that you can use.
The apartment is very authentic and spacious. Firstly, there is a nice living room with comfortable sofas, located by a large fireplace. Behind the sofas, a rustic dining table stands where the homemade meals can be enjoyed. In front of the sofas, there is a direct access to a beautiful terrace / balcony, where you with impressive views can consume meals. This is very nice in the evening hours when the temperature is perfect. The bedrooms are like the rest of the apartment very spacious. One of the bedrooms has a nice double bed, and the other has two single beds, which is perfect for a small family. The kitchen in Piso Pallera is a typical country kitchen, where you can try cooking the local dishes.
Just 2-3 km from the cottage, there is a cozy little village, where there is a supermarket, small shops and cafes. Piso Pallera is located near the French border and 20 minutes from E15 (France-Barcelona motorway). Furthermore, there is plenty of activities in the area. The delicious sand beaches of Costa Brava are just 20 km away, while cultural city of Girona, which is only 45 km away, certainly deserves a visit. Barcelona, ??only 110 km away, is also a must to visit.

Apartments in Barcelona or just a visit
The advantage of the geography of Catalonia is that Barcelona is situated in the middle. You can reach Barcelona in 1-1½ hours from most of our holiday homes, so it is easy to visit the city during your stay. In addition, many choose to combine a stay in the country side with an apartment in Barcelona before or after the vacation in one of our Spanish villas.

Activity and Interests
Description of the region:
If you wish to absorb the lively local life in one of the smaller villages in the Girona region, go swimming on the stunning beaches of the Costa Brava. Go hiking in the Pyrenees or see some of the most interesting museums in Catalonia. If you want everything in a week and within your reach, we highly recommend the Girona region - one of the most beautiful regions in all of northern Catalonia.
The city of Gerona, near the French border. It is a beautiful city where you get a real feeling for its history just by walking through its ancient streets. Its a walled city which dates back to the Roman period, the old quarter is located within the city walls. The city of Girona has a rich, detailed, and dramatic history. The first inhabitants of the area were the Iberians. Then came the Romans who built a fortification there, which was named Gerunda. After having been occupied by a number of cultures, Girona finally fell under control by the Holy Roman Empire. In the 12 th century, the Jewish community flourished in Girona , and a major Kabbalistic school was built. However, the Catholic kings drove the Jews away from Spain in 1492. Later on, in the 17 th to 18 th century, Girona fell under siege by the French, and it was conquered by Napoleon in 1809. The walls of the city were destroyed in the 19 th century. Today, the city is a rich heritage site full of historic and cultural beauty.
The most striking characteristic about of the province is undoubtedly its great diversity. From a tourist point of view it can offer a magnificent coastal area -the internationally recognised Costa Brava- as well as a fine mountain region, which is ideal for both tourism and the practice of a wide variety of sports. This balance between coastal and inland scenery, along with a mild climate, helps attract tourists to the province throughout the year.
The coastline north of Barcelona, the Costa Brava, is one of the busiest coastlines in northern Spain. White sand beaches, lifeguards on duty, and one restaurant after another makes it a perfect spot for an easy day on the beach. To the north the town of Roses, provides rental of windsurfers, diving equipment etc. However should you prefer something a little quieter, we highly recommend the small village of Cadaques a to the north. This beautiful village build on the rocks around a small bay, is virtually untouched by modern day mass-tourism. And although the are no sandy beaches the water is clearer and perfect for a small snorkelling-trip. Cadaques is also the birth town of Salvador Dali, and was a reuge for painters and jazz-musicians. The small and central square is a beautiful little place for a lunch. The town also has some small very good and cosy seafood restaurants.
Figueres - Dalí
The hometown of one of the worlds most influential surreal artists Salvador Dali- Figueres, is also home of the official Dali museum. This spectacular is a must-see for all visitors in the area. Designed by Dali himself, the museum is a piece of art in itself, on the outside as well as the inside.
