RECEPTIVE STRUCTURE. In the unique landscape of the Val d'Orcia, lulled by the embrace of gentle hills that surround the countryside of Pienza, stands Casa Andrei, on a discreet panoramic hilltop. A rural house completely restored with salvaged materials in the typical local tradition, the exterior is in open-face sandstone and the cosy, rustic interior is enhanced by comfortable modern amenities. The house is located in the middle of a well-established farm estate of 50 hectares: guests will appreciate the genuine products of a fertile land that produces a great variety of cereals, an exquisite extra virgin olive oil and nectar made from Sangiovese grapes boasting the esteemed label, Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. The best part of this property is the amazing view seen from the house and swimming pool, a veritable palette where the main colour, green, alternates with the vivid yellow of the broom to create a suggestive and unmistakable scenario on the landscape of the Crete Senesi, where the typical gullies are interrupted here and there by expanses of vineyards and olive trees. From the house, located just one kilometre from the Renaissance borgo of Pienza, well-known places like Monticchiello, Montalcino, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Siena and Cortona can be easily reached, following a route combining art, tradition and nature without neglecting the pleasures of good wine and food.


The house consists of 4 units with independent access, two downstairs and two upstairs. The main entrance on the ground floor leads into a single space with fully-equipped kitchen and dining area with fireplace. From here you go into a small hallway with two bedrooms, one double and one single, a bathroom with hydro massage shower (suitable for the disabled) and the laundry room. The second unit, accessible through a French door next to the main entrance, is composed of sitting room (with fireplace and satellite TV), a double bedroom and a bathroom with hydro massage shower. The unit is completed by a kitchenette. An external staircase leads up to the first floor with the other two units, both with a kitchenette with fireplace: the first unit consists of two double bedrooms (one with divisible bed) and a bathroom with whirlpool tub and the second with a double bedroom (with divisible bed) and a bathroom with hydro massage shower.


Around the house extends a park of about 8000 square meters. The garden, with well-kept lawn, is dotted with cypress and olive trees and is adorned with colourful rose bushes and flanked by a dwarf boxwood hedge and Mediterranean herbs, such as rosemary, thyme, mint and sage that form natural boundaries along the paved internal paths. A line of broom borders the private road leading to the parking lot. In front of the French windows of the house a dining area has been set up (with a barbecue nearby) for alfresco meals. Guests can relax in the cool shade of a wooden gazebo or wallow in the large Jacuzzi tub that dominates the garden. The park is completed by an play area for children at the back of the house.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool, south-facing and in a super panoramic position with a 360 ° view over the hilly landscape, is located on a large flat surface at a lower level with respect to the house, which is about 70 m away. It is reached by a short flight of steps and along a path inside the property. The rectangular pool measures 7x14 m with a depth varying from 1.20 m to 2 m. Lined with an iridescent green glass mosaic, it blends in perfectly with the colours of the surrounding nature. Hydro massage jets are by the Roman steps. The pool is purified with salt and is equipped with both internal and external lighting. Around the pool is the 1000 sq m lawn of the sunbathing area, equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs and umbrellas. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October.

Our Tuscan treat

Lovely farmhouse villa set in beautiful Tuscan hills. Great location to experience the culture of Tuscany and all its history. Take a jeep to help on the tracks that are just off the main roads.

Pienze, Montechello and Montepulciano are three towns to go and visit. We will be back.

Part of the “Parco Artistico, Naturale e Culturale della Val d’Orcia” (Artistic, Cultural and Natural Park of the Val d’Orcia), along with the other beautiful villages of Castiglion d'Orcia, Montalcino, Radicofani and San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza, the most precious pearl of this exclusive corollary, is the perfect example of a Renaissance borgo, designed by the great architect Rossellino at the behest of Pope Pius II. The historical centre, surrounded by large walls, is a true open-air museum: around Piazza Pio II stand the principal and most famous buildings: the Cathedral, the old papal residence of Palazzo Piccolomini, Palazzo Borgia and the soaring tower. Exploration continues outside the walls as well, along paths that offer superb natural landscapes, dotted with numerous Romanesque churches; famous that of Corsignano, a few kilometres away. Pienza is well connected and easily accessible thanks to the excellent network of roads and highways that connect to the motorway exits of Valdichiana, 24km away (for those coming from the north) and Chiusi, 32km away (for those coming from the south).
