PRIVATE STRUCTURE. Elmarina is a typical farmhouse built entirely in stone whose origins date back to the beginning of the 20th century. Over the years it has been modified and extended and now, in its present form, is the main building of the property, characterized by terracotta flooring and traditional ceilings with tiles and exposed beams. The recent, accurate renovation, respecting the original design, has created a cosy, refined home that has maintained the simplicity of the typical country house immersed in the green Umbrian countryside, to offer its guests a comfortable and relaxing stay. The house is part of a 33 hectare estate composed of vineyards, olive groves and a dense wood dotted with paths. The large garden which surrounds the house, in a hill position, looks out over, on all sides, vast green expanses that stretch as far as the eye can see. Elmarina offers its guests a complete and unforgettable holiday in pristine natural surroundings together with the rich cultural and artistic patrimony that characterizes the numerous localities of Umbria and Tuscany, all easily reachable.

Interior:

The house has two floors. The main entrance on the ground floor leads into the well equipped kitchen, to the dining room and, from here, through two openings into the sitting room with fireplace and satellite TV. All the rooms have large French windows which open out on to the two porticoes in front of the kitchen and sitting room. Also on this floor is a bathroom with shower and the laundry room. An internal staircase leads up to the sleeping area with two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a bathroom with tub.

Park

The park around the house extends for about 2000 square metres. It is formed by a luxuriant garden adorned with lime trees and covered by a well-kept lawn inviting guests to spend their days outdoors, organizing pleasant alfresco meals in the well-equipped portico outside the kitchen, close to the barbecue. On one side of the house is a rich orchard with apple, peach and apricot trees at the guests’ disposal.

Swimming Pool

Open from the first Saturday of May until the first Saturday of October, the pool is situated in a panoramic position overlooking the surrounding countryside. It is completely enclosed by a thick hedge and by two small wooden gates to guarantee the safety of children. About 25 m from the house, it is situated on the same level. It is rectangular in shape and measures 6 x 13 m with a depth varying from 1.30 to 3 m. The pool is lined in PVC with chlorine purification. The border and the area around the pool are paved in terracotta and porphyry for 1.5 m whilst the large solarium area all around it, provided with tables, chairs and sunbeds, is covered by a well-kept lawn. Finally, a comfortable gazebo, set up on one side of the pool and furnished with table and chairs, allows guests to relax in the shade and enjoy the beautiful panorama. The pool has an outdoor cold-water shower.

Property was very clean and well maintained.

Customer service by both owners and manager was excellent.

We would recommend this property to anyone.

We enjoyed visits to Orvieto . Interesting history and many good restaurants . The countryside was attractive. Rome was an easy trip and well worth our 2 days of tourism. We had no dislikes.

The only suggestions we could make is to put insect screens on the ground floor windows. Install a larger fridge for 6 people.

The swimming pool was the focus of most of our time. It was perfect for us. Very clean. The views are enchanting from the house.

Our holiday gave us total satisfaction .
