RECEPTIVE STRUCTURE. “Le Volpaie” is a country house in the middle of the splendid Valdichiana landscape, 10 minutes from Cortona, a characteristic historic Tuscan centre capable of hosting a great number of foreigners during the summer time. Our holiday house is set on a rather isolated site, in fact, a country road for approximately two km, before you will reach a breathtaking scenery. Le Volpaie is a 180 sqm splendid stone-built country house recently restored, excellently refined (hand-made terracotta floors and beamed ceilings) and furnished by the owners with taste and elegance.

Interior

the house is built on two levels. On the ground floor there are a large lobby, lounge, dining room, well equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and tub, twin bedroom. An internal staircase leading up to the first floor with a livingroom/study with additional single bed, double bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom with shower. A laundry room has been created outside in the annex, provided with all necessary fittings.

Park

1.500 sqm of garden, excellently maintained and embellished with flowering plants. Here you will find the swimming pool from where you have a wonderful view on the landscape of the Cortona hills.

Swimming Pool

Open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October. The swimming pool measures 4 x 8 m, from 1 to 1,90 m deep, is fully furnished (beach chairs, regular chairs and a table).

A DREAM!!

We have rented through this agency two weeks, one at this villa and the other at Le Grillaie. The service has been perfect, in both properties!! The owners were very friendly and helped us visit this magnificent area! It is not easy to make many people agree, fortunately the quality of properties and the Tuscan perfection helped a lot!

Authentic taste of Tuscany

The property is perfect, we loved every single details: pool, terrace, spectacular view, forniture and the large amount of available books! We went to visit beautiful cities like Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulciano and Pienza, which are quite easy to reach from the house. We will never forget our time there, highly recommend

Breathtaking views

Le Volpaie is a very nice cosy house, the view over the valley is absolutely fantastic, especially during sunset. We spent as much time as possible on the big patio and we appreciated that different kinds of books were available. We will definitively book next year

Stunning getaway villa in the Cortona hillside!

Stunning beauty from the minute you drive up the private driveway. Gorgeous villa set way up in privacy, with stunning views over Tuscany and out to the wine country.

Our caretaker was fantastic and helping us with every need - suggestions to Cortona and local restaurants, help with the rental car and directions and much more. The location is so close to the Terontola train station, we took a day trip to Florence until 7pm one day.

The villa was a perfect size for a couple, with plenty of room for another to join as well as 2 small children. Cooked dinner at home 2 nights and they have all the supplies and amenities one could require. The view is breathtaking over coffee to start the day, and a glass of wine at sunset. Location was key and easy to hop a drive all throughout Tuscany down to Perugia, Deruta, Orvieto, and back up to Siena. Local market and restaurants are fabulous and the friendliest people to get to know. Day trips and dinner in Cortona village were beautiful and so close. WE LOVE THIS VILLA and will definitely come back for a longer stay. The best thing of all is that Emma Villas steamed me to the right villa for the two of us and our specific needs. They will do the same for you!

The perfect holiday destination

From the moment we arrived, there was genuine excitement from start to finish. The villa is quiet, peaceful, comfortable and beautiful. We loved the pool area, the beautiful garden, and the hundreds of books available. The grounds and villa are breath taking and very well tended to. If you want the ideal Tuscan holiday, this is the place to do it. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

LOCATION

The Location is an ideal starting point for who wish to have nice daily trip and sightseeing all over South Tuscany and Umbria as well: being the city of Cortona located not far either from the motorway A1 (exit Valdichiana) and from the freeway Siena-Perugia. Very well known sites like Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Perugia, Assisi and so on can be reached in less than hour driving as well as the hidden and maybe most beautiful corners of this 2 regions. Big cities like Florence or Rome can be easily reached also by train ( and we suggest to use it in high season to avoid traffic roads) being Cortona served by 2 train railways stations. Above all we are quite sure that you will fall in love with the ancient atmosphere of this beautiful town. All shops and facilities in the big village of Camucia, nice restaurants, bars, cafes, shops in Cortona. Supermarket are open also on Sunday morning.

1 km for partly paved and partly gravel road which is steep and very narrow, the width is not suitable for vehicles over 2.20 m, and for vehicles that are low or sportive or with automatic drive. Mountainous road with a couple of elbow curves. We recommend vehicles of small or medium size (no BMW, Audi, Mercedes etc..), A car is available for guests to drive up the hill and get to the property.
