Lovely characterful cottage
Comfortable and everything we needed. Plenty of meals outside in the garden. Great walks. My friend is tall and had to be very careful not to bang her head on the low beams Which was a problem until she got used to it! Overall a great day, would recommend

Enjoyable Christmas
Lovely warm cosy cottage; welcoming bottle of wine, mince pies and wood for the fire. Despite the weather we were able to enjoy the excellent nearby walks and company at the Kestor Inn, a couple of minutes walk away. The kitchen was generally well appointed; adequate cutlery and dishes were provided but some of the cooking utensils were in need of replacement and the provision of oven gloves would have been welcomed.

About the host

Host profile image
I have been fortunate to be brought up in a small fishing village in the west of Cornwall. For as long as I have known my parents have had the cottage in Devon as a retreat from the bustling summer tourism. This has always been a treasured family holiday home where we could all recharge our batteries together.

Why they chose this property

My parents fell upon this property when touring Devon in their caravan. On first sight they fell in love with this picturesque thatched cottage and we have treasured it as part of the family ever since.

What makes this property unique

Who could fail to adore this charming cottage nestled in the heart of Dartmoor? It offers peace and tranquillity from everyday stresses yet never faraway there's plenty of little villages and towns to explore. Further afield there's many more opportunities to visit tourist attractions such as; Paignton Zoo, Torquay Amusements, Newton Abbott Horse racing, golf courses, cathedral city of Exeter and much more.
