The beach is only a 10-15 minute stroll away. Salobrena's wide beach is split in two by El Penon rock and boasts several 'chiringuitos' (beach bars), popular restaurants and bars, gift shops, and facilities such as pedalo, jet ski, sunbed and sunshade hire. From Salobrena it is possible to enjoy walks along the coast in one of the few remaining attractive rural areas in southern Spain, where sugar cane grows and nature has not been pushed aside by over development. Los Moriscos beachside golf course is just a 5 minute drive away in Motril but there are also more golf courses around Malaga and Granada. The Sierra Nevada, Europe's most southerly ski resort, is just 90 minutes drive from Salobrena. Where else can you ski in the morning and then sun yourself on a Mediterranean beach in the afternoon whilst enjoying free tapas? An ideal base for those wishing to find a place in the sun of their own.

Apartamento amplio, con casi todo lo necesario. Sin embargo señalar que la persona que entregó las llaves -que no era el propietario- hizo mucho hincapié en la necesidad de cuidar el apartamento y su contenido puesto que en dos ocasiones se había visto obligado a retener la fianza. Se limitó de forma rápida a hacer entrega de las llaves, recoger la firma y documentos relativos a identidad y enseñó de forma rápida las habitaciones -ésta es la cocina, esta es una habitación, el baño...- . Y al tercer día, al hacer uso de un aseo que hasta ese momento no se había usado porque hay un baño completo, la cisterna no deja de cargar agua, la llave de paso no funciona para cerrarla y hay que abrir la cisterna para cortar la carga de agua. Esto ocurrió por la noche, al día siguiente se contactó con él telefónicamente y lo cierto es que no hubo ningún problema, reconoció que estaba pendiente de arreglo. Pero el pequeño disgusto pensando que podrían achacarnos la rotura no te lo quita nadie esa noche. La rotura en sí no fue inconveniente, éramos solo dos personas y como digo había otro baño completo (por cierto, con una ducha muy cómoda y amplia). Sería conveniente tener todas las instalaciones en correcto estado, o prevenir al inquilino.

Otros detalles positivos como equipos de música-TV e incluso diversos CD's a disposición. Menaje de cocina con lo necesario.

Buena situación para visitar la zona, bien comunicada.

Salobreña has a picturesque old town and its narrow streets and Arabic castle can be explored through a guided history tour if wished. Medieval suppers and regular cultural events are held at the castle. The museum, church, craft shop, bars and restaurants are worth a visit. In the modern town on the flat, a full range of shops, boutiques, supermarkets, banks, restaurants and bars, are available. On offer too are guided cycle tours and agrotours. Local interesting towns with historic tours, museums, cultural events are Motril and Almuñecar. Nerja has large underground caves which, interesting to visit all the year, have concerts in summer with internationally acclaimed artists. Visit the Motril museum where cane sugar was produced from the 10th century until recently. See the cave houses in Guardix and outside Granada. Trace the stories of Phoenician, Roman and Moorish remains in Salobreña, Almuñecar and other local towns. Follow the García Lorca trail to towns and houses associated with his life. Enjoy the local olive oil museum...there's much to do! That's without mentioning the 'must see' Alhambra in Granada and exploring Granada's old part - the Albaycin

The spectacular scenery of the Granada road from Jete, the road to the Guájares and from these villages to the Lecrín valley shouldn't be missed. The historic and pretty villages and towns of the Alpujarras offer delightful day trips and walking, shopping and eating opportunities. Frigiliana, a pretty village north of Nerja has a fascinating history, brilliantly told by a local guide, who does a guided tour of Almuñecar also. Nerja is a lively attractive bustling holiday town.

The extensive beaches of Salobreña are a 10 minutes walk away with a sea front full of restaurants and bars and La Caleta and La Guadia beaches are a 15 minutes walk along the beach. The pretty beaches of Velilla (15 minutes drive) Cotobro (20 minutes) and La Herradura (25 minutes) have restaurants and the long beaches of Almuñecar (20 minutes) offer lively seafront activities, parks, bars and restaurants and in the old town picturesque streets of shops and shady town squares. A little further west there is the naturist beach, Cantarriján, at Cerro Gordo. To the east, Motril Playa (15 minutes) offers a wide sandy beach, and continuing along the coast eastwards there are many smaller coves, and beaches to explore.
