Guestbook comments from the manager

Growler Cottage is a lovely "home from home" traditional cottage. It is very comfortable and everything we needed - warm & inviting, fantastic location in the centre of Bowness and lots of amenities.

Merlin (our shihtzu) had a lovely time and says thank you for the treats and toys.

We will be visiting again in the future and will definitely receommend.

Great location smashing little property very well equipped with some lovely extra little touches

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely wonderful little property in a fabulous location. The owner has really done a fantastic job with this cosy well equipped house and you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. It was exactly what we were looking for. We needed somewhere that would take a dog but didn't expect them to be so accommodating with treats, toys and blankets for the dog that really was a very welcoming touch. We will definitely be telling our friends and family about this little gem and hopefully it won't be too long before we return.

Lovely cottage in a great location

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is really nice, comfortable and has everything you need. It is also in a very handy and lovely location. Close to everything and there is a really nice Italian restaurant on the corner if you don't feel like cooking. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to be back!

A Weeks Stay In Bowness

  • 5 of 5

We thought 'Growler Cottage' was a lovely house. The interior was very tasteful and most importantly felt really clean. We felt very comfortable there. It was also a good location for exploring Windermere and the surrounding area. Highly recommend the cottage.

Beautiful comfortable clean contemporary cottage a great location with plenty to do well recommend

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Growler cottage as we had done previously and our reason for returning says everything. This gorgeous quintessential Lil cottage has all the comforts of home. It's is very comfortable and very clean and beautifully contemporary in its colours and designs. There was a fresh milk in the fridge and quality teabags waiting to greet you after yr journey. You have a short walk on yr doorstep to a bustling array of shops pubs and restaurants or maybe take a cruise on the lakeland steamers, there is so much to do yet the cottage is very peaceful in its surroundings..totally outstanding and booking was very easy..a great Lil find and we shall be returning again for sure. ☺

A cosy cottage with a great location

  • 3 of 5

Overall the cottage has everything you need I would suggest a few additional changes. In the main bedroom I would add a top sheet & a better quality duvet & pillows. Shelving in the cupboard would help as I found I kept my clothes in my case. The change to the bath was a great change & the fire in the living room. I had a lovely stay and will be looking to book another break next year.

Owner's Response: Thank you Sandra and we were delighted to welcome you back again to Growler Cottage. Your feedback and comments re bath etc were very welcome. However, we replaced all beds and some bedding last year and this included changing our duvets over from winter to summer when the weather is warmer. We do also leave extra blankets and hot water bottles for guests use. It is very hard to meet all requirements when it comes to something personal like a bed. We may consider additional storage as well as the existing tall boy and bedside units although any shelving for the walk in wardrobe may restrict the access to the attic. We very much look forward to welcoming you back in 2018.
