LOCATION:

Villa Batey 16 is located at the exclusive Casa de Campo Resort in La Romana, the Dominican Republic.

Casa de Campo Resort is a large, gated resort & residential community with 24-hour gated entrance and security.

Since the resort’s opening in 1974 as the first resort in the Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas has been a favorite luxury destination for discerning travelers and celebrities from all over the world. Known as the best golf resort, the 3 Pete Dye golf courses include Teeth of the Dog, which is ranked as one of the top golf courses in the Caribbean.

This incredible 7,000-acre resort, located in La Romana on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, is a tropical playground that features a unique variety of amenities and a private beach club with swimming pools at Minitas Beach. Casa de Campo is also home to many gourmet dining options, fantastic bars, and Altos de Chavón – a one-of-a-kind 16th-century replica Mediterranean village.

La Romana airport is located five minutes from the resort. Punta Cana Airport is located about a 45-minute drive from the resort and Santo Domingo Airport is about 1 hour away.

NOTE: You’ll have two golf touring carts included with the villa rental for transportation around the resort.

THE SPACE:

Villa Batey 16 is a 5-bedroom, single-level villa, which makes it very convenient for multi-generational families.

The villa welcomes you with an impressive, palm-studded entrance, a turtle pool, and a large wooden door leading into your private sanctuary.

Batey 16 has spacious and comfortable living spaces, including a living room area with 3 large sofas, offering seamless indoor-outdoor living. Watch a movie in the cozy TV room, which also doubles as a library/study and small office space.

The formal indoor dining room accommodates 12 guests, while the poolside palapa offers a delightful outdoor dining experience. The villa’s large kitchen has all the necessary equipment for cooking delicious meals – AND your villa rental includes a private chef, so you don’t have to worry about cooking during your vacation (groceries are not included).

The outdoor area is simply amazing! Enjoy your private saltwater pool and surrounding pool deck and garden, which face towards and gives you a view of the Chavon River and the Caribbean Sea.

VILLA STAFF:

Chef: Your private Spanish-speaking chef will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner to be enjoyed at the villa (groceries are not included). The chef may reside on the property in a separate living area.

Butler: The English/Spanish-speaking butler can serve drinks, and food, and generally helps around the house. The butler may reside on the property in a separate living area.

Housekeeper: The Spanish-speaking housekeeper will clean the villa, make the beds, wash towels and linens (usually every 3rd day). We do not offer personal laundry service. The housekeeper may reside on the property in a separate living area.

Villa Manager: You’ll also have an English/Spanish-speaking villa manager available during your stay. This is your go-to person for any questions or if you need any services that you haven’t booked before your arrival. The villa manager will greet you when you arrive at the villa, check you in, and will be available daily throughout your entire stay.

It was great in its early days now appears rundown except the swimming pool and gazebo that are both excellent. The staff was very polite and helpful. Here is the problem, the day we arrived was raining and water went from the floor into 2 bedrooms, 1/2 inch in entire bedroom plus 2 inches in the "bedroom" that is next to the pool, it drained the next day. There was no hot water for 48 hours, finally after many tries they figured out that the heater was burnt, then they brought a new unit but it took exactly 4 minutes before hot water appeared in any of the bathrooms because there is no water recirculating pump, so taking a shower was a hassle during the entire stay. The batteries in both the golf carts were bad the next day new carts were rented but we had to wait until they arrived. The sheets and bed covers were at the end of life, very thin and obviously ancient. The covers in the pool chaise lounges were green many years ago, they are totally discolored and not appealing visually. The couple of days thar we ate breakfast was good but our only dinner there was Thanksgiving and it was a disaster, we requested Filet Mignon and the meat was so tough and tasteless that most of it went untouched. The only redeeming part was that we requested a refund and we received 2 days back. We think that the advertising was false : there was no river within a km from the house, There was a distant view of the ocean and by our standards does not measure up to what they charge.

Casa de Campo Spring Break 2019

We will be back!! The house was wonderful and exactly as advertised, with beautiful views of the river and ocean. Transfers from the Punta Cana airport were very easy and comfortable. The house was great with plenty of open air living space for everyone to gather together, or find quiet time alone for a book or nap. The outdoor Palapa is the best!! The staff was excellent and saw to our every need. Definitely five stars!!

Exquisite location, wonderful accommodation

Located in a very peaceful environment, this beautiful property enabled us to spend incredible vacation. While all services were provided by efficient personnel (cook, cleaner, butler), we could just relax either by the large pool or at the private beach within driving distance. The layout of the house is adapted so that everyone can be independent from each other. Lunch and dinner under the gazebo were such a pleasure watching amazing sunsets. We will keep this place in our memory.

Before moving to Punta Cana, I was playing golf professionally in Scandinavia and Europe at Challenge Tour level. From 2000, I began working in the traveling industry every winter season for Danish traveling agencies as a golf pro, representative and destination manager. In 2002, my travels took me to the Dominican Republic, where I settled down and bought Palmera Travel together with my wife, Rawnie Hansen. As the years went by, our company grew and expanded into Group Palmera. Today, we specialize in offering luxury vacation rental properties and customizing vacation packages for travelers from around the world.
