About this property

This cozy lake retreat 3BR 2BA with a loft lakefront home has awesome views of the lake! With the Uwharrie National Forest right around the cove. Located approximately 1 hour from Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem and High Point. This slice of heaven is just perfect for a family vacation, anniversary, friends' getaway or fishing retreat. You name it and you will enjoy your time here.

Master with a King bed, 2nd bedroom with a queen bed, 3rd bedroom with two twin beds and an upstairs loft/play area. A large lake view front porch with ceiling fans, rocking chairs and a swing. We love our animals too but have a NO PETS policy.

The lake is just steps away from the front porch. A dock and steps leading into the water are convenient for taking a cool dip. Bring your boat or jet ski and enjoy fishing and the serenity of the lake's 115 miles of shoreline. The dock has room for a boat or jet ski to tie up and access to deep water.

Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, , utilities, gas grill for outdoor cooking, outdoor tables and chairs, and wifi. Two kayaks and one paddle board are available (with life jackets) to enjoy exploring the lake or fishing for dinner. Park your automobile in our covered carport area with room for more parking on our paved cement driveway.

Spend the day boating, swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing on the pier with the sound of the water soothing your stress away.

For those seeking more adventure... hike or bike the Uwharrie National Forest across the lake (accessed a few miles away by car). Pontoon boat rentals may be available from FishTales Marina or Ole North State Marina.

Within 30 minutes... North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro; Seagrove, NC-Pottery Capital of North Carolina and Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury. Golf at nearby courses or 40 minutes away at Pinehurst, visit the museum of Nascar’s legend, Richard Petty; or take a caution lap around the track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. Take in a new release movie at the Drive In Theater 1/2 hour away in Albemarle or a zip line ride in Asheboro. Warm October Weekend

Scenic lakefront location. Nicely furnished. Comfortable beds. Fully-stocked, if not over-stocked, assortment of kitchen needs. Wine cork, but no wine glasses. Only large insulated cups. The tub in the main bathroom was extremely slow to drain. Shades, blinds, curtains, etc. on the large, west-facing glass doors would have helped block the glaring afternoon sun, as well as provided privacy in the master and twin-bed bedrooms. We overcame the "issues" and enjoyed the weekend.

Nice Lakeside Getaway

The best thing about this house was the back porch, which is right on the water. It was a great spot for reading, playing games, catching up and dining. We also really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. The community feels very cozy and welcoming. The house is decorated nicely and has great views of the lake from the inside. It's also a really easy drive from Charlotte (where we are from). A few things informational things to note for potential renters that are not bad, but will hopefully just be helpful. There isn't a whole lot to do outside of the lake. There are plenty of dollar stores, a Food lion, gas stations, and mom and pop restaurants nearby - which is really nice. There is also a decent winery about 20 mins away and a place to hike (if you want a 5-6 mile hike), but that's about it. The house feels like the owners left seconds before you arrived. It's very lived in. Not in a dirty kind of way, but in a "this house is well loved and often visited by the owners" kind of way. I think for some renters, this makes it very home-y and cozy. For us, it was a bit uncomfortable to have their toothbrushes still there, bathing suits hanging up, and random things all around the house. Last, if you are a morning person, you will love the master bedroom. If you are not, you may wake up grouchy when the sun hits your face at an early hour. There are no curtains or blinds so you will appreciate the view, but may not appreciate the openness to outside viewers, including the sun.
