I grew up in Swansea and moved to Lincolnshire in 1980. I am a retired teacher now living in a village near Louth, which is a lovely market town in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
Alison Jackson purchased this cottage in 2007
I bought Antoinette after spending many happy years visiting nearby Wolla Bank and Moggs Eye to picnic and swim. I did a complete renovation, opening it out to let in the light, and painting the floorboards. I bought the land in front to make a garden and to make room for my antique living van and added a verandah to sit out in any weather.
Everyone covets the houses on the top of the dunes with sea views, but mine is tucked away in the shelter of the dell, away from the wind. A few steps up and I am on the beach. I can sit and watch the sunset or the rabbits hopping by. I have managed to find which plants they will not eat so they are welcome to chew the grass.
Always a pleasure to stay here clean warm well equipped so close to the beach for long walks just love it.
Had the best time in this lovely cottage, loved the fact there was no TV, Angie the cleaner was extremely kind & helpful. We will be back
What a pleasant little cottage to stay in. We booked from New Zealand and everything was as expected (Alison even let us pay cash as the banking from NZ was complicated). Lovely beach only a minutes walk away. Would recommend - Graham
We had a lovely stay here, the locals were friendly and the beach was 5 minutes away. My boys enjoyed staying in the workers van. We would definitely return again.
The property is very quaint and quirky, however it is in need of a makeover. The washer and dishwasher are both antiques and full of dirt. The bath room ceiling needs cleaning from the mould deposits and rusty radiator. In essence it needs a deep clean before I would return.
The cleaner lives across the road, I think but even if we were to say anything it would have taken too long to clean the cottage up so we decided to come home early.
The reason for my review is to check the property before unpacking and go and see the cleaner before you start your holiday
Absolutely amazing place to stay. We loved every minute of it and hated having to leave.
The cottage is delighted, you can tell a lot of love has been invested in the place.
It's only a stones throw away from the beach which I can only describe as something from a novel. So peaceful, calming and brilliant for dog walkers!
Can't wait to come back!!
Situated in a coastal nature reserve with bird hide and cloud observatory. Quiet beach with sand dunes a few steps away. Shops a 15 min drive but basics available at the Beach Cafe. The bright lights of Skegness and Mablethorpe within easy reach.
