A golden opportunity

Pull back the luxurious curtains of the master bedroom and let your feet sink into the sumptuous carpets – here at Gloucester Square you needn’t sacrifice comfort for grandeur. This Georgian home is awash with carefully restored period features – carved ceilings, ornate cornices, antique fireplaces – and adorned with elaborate details, from gilt-framed mirrors to decorative rugs. And while the kitchen and polished-chrome ensuite bathrooms are a little less opulent, they’re every bit as luxurious, all gleaming appliances and sparkling tiles.

The silver lining

Your retired host and his business consultant wife are connoisseurs of culture, often taking time out from the busy capital to enjoy southern hemisphere winters in Cape Town, and cosy weekends in their countryside retreat.

Bronze and baroque

The baroque sitting room showcases towering bamboo shoots, a marble hearth and intricately patterned cabinets, but the centrepiece is undoubtedly the carved bronze figure seemingly propping up the glass table top. From here, tall double doors open into the airy dining room, where you’ve delicate paintings of the leafy countryside – linger over dinner while looking out over the pretty gardens of Gloucester Square.

And though the velveteen sofas are particularly appealing, from your enviable location the refined delights of London are too – stroll through the park to the elegant streets of Mayfair, or venture a little further to the bars and bistros of glitzy Notting Hill.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Westminster and West End

Bordering the north of Hyde Park and the west of Oxford Street, Bayswater is a vibrant and cosmopolitan locale that uniquely mixes luxury and elegance with a bustling ethnic feel, housing large communities of Arab, Greek and Brazilian communities.

On the one hand the area is renowned for its grand white Stucco-fronted terraced houses centred round a refined garden square, on the other sit the high-energy strips of Queensway, Westbourne Grove and Edgware Road each lined with a heady mix of ethnic restaurants, shisha cafes, pubs, high street stores, bars and clubs.

Not as high and mighty as neighbouring Mayfair, nor as genteel as bordering Notting Hill, Bayswater is an all-embracing enclave, with a hint of wildness about it.

What makes this apartment unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
