Guestbook comments from the manager

We cannot speak highly enough of this spacious, clean, well equipped apartment which is well located for all that the West Coast has to offer. Charles and Charlene are perfect hosts and Dorothy took such great care of us that we would have liked to take her home. With Gibbs beach so close by the picnic set and chairs were an especially nice touch. There were even cool packs thoughtfully left in the freezer. The tropical gardens are also a bonus. We will return to this idyllic spot.

Island paradise

  • 5 of 5

Listing does not do justice for this property. Location perfect for access to beautiful quiet beach or busier water sport area.

During day a delightful breeze makes the accommodations comfortable, and during the night the air con makes sleeping easy. Full kitchen and a barbecue makes home cooking easy and a back patio overlooking lush mango trees provides perfect setting to eat.

Very clean with maid service provided and a gardener to look after spectacular grounds. Both people lovely and helpful.

15 minute bus or taxi ride in either direction provides access to shopping area and a multitude of excellent restaurants. Speightstown one way and Holetown the other provide everything required. Local fish market offers fresh caught and easy food for grilling.

We spent our evenings at Cee Cee so cannot comment on area nightlife.

The diving is spectacular and I highly recommend Scott Clarke for personal service and professional excursions.

He also drove us to Cherry Tree Hill which overlooks the rugged wave covered east coast that is a must see.

The island offers something for everyone and Cee Cee is the perfect location from which to operate.

We are currently looking at when we can return as it was a tremendous vacation.

Great place for a relaxing safe holiday

  • 5 of 5

Cee Cees Barbados is a great safe place . The apt. is kept very clean by Sandra the house keeper who will ensure the apt. is kept up to standard and even do your laundry, so you can enjoy your holiday. The place sits back off the road and is private and quiet. The garden is lovely, nice and cool after a day in the sun and makes for a great place to have your morning coffee or tea. You will also enjoy the monkeys venturing through at various times of the day and they even stop to eat fruit on the trees which makes for a great photo op. The kitchen has everything you need, if you choose to stay in and there is also a barbecue on the back patio for your use. A constant breeze moves through the open doors and windows. At night there is also air conditioning should you need it.

The beachs, Mullins and Gibbes are within a 5 or 10 minute walk in either direction which are not crowded and are amazing. Charlene provides everything you need to spend a longer time at the beach...chairs, towels, coolers. The bus services that whizz up and down the highway make it easy and cheap to access both Speightstown and Holetown where you will find great restaurants all listed in the information Charlene provides. The “crazy” yellow buses were so much fun and will stop at the end of the driveway! They play Caribbean music and are filled with friendly people! A dollar will take you anywhere on the island. There are also blue or city buses which are a little more normal and are the same price.

Charlene is a wonderful host. She has everything covered and offers great tips on what to do and where to go. She also provided us with information on who to call prior to arrival to Barbados for a taxi service to her apartment. I highly recommend booking this apartment for your holiday in Barbados - it is great value, the location is superb and Charlene will ensure a hassle free and memorable stay.

The apartment was clean and well organized.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at CeeCee. Towels and chairs were supplied to take along to the beach. We didn't need to pack anything extra. The house's location was perfect...a few minute walk to the beach and also a store to pick up groceries. The monkeys running through the backyard was a wonderful site and surprise.

Sandra, the housekeeper was great. She had a smile on her face for the entire week. She offered her tips when she asked questions about Barbados. She was a wealth of information.

When we come back, we would love to call CeeCee our home again for the week.

Thank you to Charles for being a wonderful host.

Delightful apartment and garden

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cee Cee's. The apartment is comfortable, spacious and well-appointed with an excellent covered terrace, perfect for relaxed reading and eating outdoors, and a lovely garden. Sandra, who comes in every weekday morning to clean up, make beds and do the laundry, is delightful and friendly, as is Anton, the gardener, who also comes in in the mornings.

Charlene was extremely helpful prior to our visit, putting us in touch with a taxi service and a car hire service and answering all my questions. There's an excellent information leaflet in the apartment, with details of facilities, shops, restaurants, places to go, etc. which we found really useful.

The only reason I've given this a 4 star, rather than a 5 star rating was down to the slightly disappointing weather - a factor outwith the owners' control. During our stay, the NW coast of Barbados experienced unusually large waves, making it unsafe for bathing in the sea for much of our time there and eroding Gibbes and Mullins beaches of much of their sand. Gibbes was returning to normal (albeit still a bit pebbly) by the end of our stay but the Mullins Beach Bar was so severely damaged that is has had to be closed indefinitely and the watersports and sunbeds were still out of action.

The bus services that whizz up and down the highway make it easy and cheap to access both Speightstown (our favourite) and Holetown without a car but, to see more of the island, I'd definitely recommend hiring a car. Although we spent less time than anticipated on the beach, this was more than compensated for by our sight-seeing trips exploring the island. Particular highlights included Harrison's Cave, St Nicholas Abbey, the view from Cherry Tree Hill, the Flower Cave and the spectacular rocks nearby, and the Foursquare Distillery and Heritage Park. If you like nature and wildlife, I recommend a visit to the Garrison Hall Forest walk and Wildlife Reserve. Aim to be in the Wildlife Reserve for feeding time at 2pm - it's a surreal sight, watching monkeys scrambling with tortoises for the best bits of banana. And don't miss the Arlington House Museum in Speightstown.

For eating out we can recommend Bombas, which is within easy walking distance of the apartment. It overlooks the beach just north of Mullins and, if you get there before sunset, makes a wonderful spot to sip a rum punch whilst watching the sunset, framed by palm trees.

Paradise in Barbados

  • 5 of 5

We spent an amazing week at Cee Cee’s apartment! The pictures do not do justice to the large, bright space! A constant breeze moves through the open doors and windows. One of the best times of day was drinking coffee on the shady back patio after an early morning swim! Gibbes beach is incredible and is only a few minutes walk away! Charlene provides everything you need to spend a longer time at the beach...chairs, towels, coolers, etc. People cannot park at this beach so there are only people who can walk there! It’s like having a private beach! We went to many of the recommended restaurants (great local food!) but also enjoyed being able to prepare our own meals in the well equipped kitchen and on the barbecue. The “crazy” yellow buses were so much fun and will stop at the end of the driveway! They play Caribbean music and are filled with friendly people! $1 will take you anywhere on the island. Sandra came in every day and took such good care of us! A gem! We even came back with a case full of clean clothes! Bamboo, monkeys, tiny frogs chirping, birds, mangoes, bananas, comfortable sleeps, gorgeous sunsets, and relaxation are some of the wonderful memories we have of our stay! We will be back... hopefully for a longer stay!

A small haven in beautiful Barbados

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Cee Cee’s very nice apartment. The location is perfect if you enjoy beautiful beeches. The Gibbes beach which we enjoyed every day must be the most beautiful and peaceful beach of the island. Since there is nowhere to park nearby only the people living nearby can visit the beach. The apartment has everything you need including a nice patio where we sat every evening listening to the treefrogs and watching monkeys looking for mangos. Charlene has a booklet in the apartment where you find information about nearest shopping, restaurants, interesting things to do........nothing missing. And Sandra takes good care of the apartment, even washing our clothes. We recommend renting a car(watch out for the potholes!) We drove across to the east coast and enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Round House in Bathsheba. And a must is visiting Hunte’s Garden. Amazingly beautiful. We do recommend staying at Cee Cee’s. It feels so private!
