Get away to sunny Céret for a romantic stay...

About the property

Charming one-bedroom apartment in a truly unbeatable central location!

This one bedroom apartment is situated on the first floor of a beautiful, and beautifully located, building in the heart of town. The space, light and airy, with its exposed old beams, antique furniture and original contemporary artwork, provides a wonderful blend of modern and ancient that is entirely in keeping with the artistic ethos of Céret itself.

The bedroom has a comfortable double bed and good storage for unpacking for your stay. An additional sleeping space is available on the sofa bed. The small kitchen is very well-equipped, including dishwasher, and there is also a washing machine in the apartment.

The apartment is directly opposite the Mairie (Town Hall), which the French consider the heart of town. It is nevertheless a quiet location, with views from your small balconies of the gorgeous, tree-lined streets and facades of neighbouring buildings.

Everything you could possibly want is just steps away...fresh croissants for breakfast, cafés, restaurants and bars in the tree-lined streets, plus the famous Musée d’Art Moderne, whose permanent collection includes works by Picasso, one of the museum’s founders. There are several other small art galleries and exhibition spaces in town, plus a number of lovely small shops selling regional arts, craft and tasty local delicacies.

For the outdoor lovers, there are wonderful walks right from your door, whether you fancy a quick stroll out to the local waterfall for a dip, or a 3-hour hike up the foothills to the border of Spain.

The apartment was well appointed apart from a lack of hairdryer and not very comfortable sofa bed.

The apartment was light and airy and in a lovely position in the beautiful town of Ceret. One thing that should have been pointed out was a poor wifi in that area of town,we eventually found a good signal in The Cafe de France.Apart from that our stay was most enjoyable in this most delightful of towns.

Delightful Apartment!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most perfect Ceret holiday thanks to this delightful apartment and its wonderful manager Jay! (Jay, thank you so much for a smooth booking/check-in/checkout process and for helping us to get situated when we arrived!)

The apartment has the perfect mix for experiencing daily town life and for visiting all of Ceret’s attractions. The art and music museums, gates, as well as various shops, restaurants, and community services (e.g., tourist & post offices, parking) are just a few steps from the doorstep. We have great memories of opening the windows in the morning to watch the town come to life. Our stay coincided with a market day and Ceret’s Fete de la Cerises. On those days, we couldn’t resist rushing downstairs and jumping right in. The apartment’s balconies also gave us some of the best seats in town for viewing the festivities from above. For us, this apartment had all of the advantages of being in the middle of everything but none of the drawbacks that sometimes come with a town center location. The apartment’s location is perfect in that, “It’s not too sleepy; it’s not too busy; it’s just right!”

We found the interior of this charming apartment to be clean, well-maintained, bright, airy, and wonderfully comfortable – a perfect place for spending lazy afternoons. We found the apartment to be beautifully decorated with a pleasant and practical mix of antique and modern furnishings. Each day, we encountered small decorative touches that made us smile. As described, the apartment was very well-stocked with clean linens, modern appliances, dishes, kitchen utensils, and other miscellaneous household supplies. If we needed it, it was definitely there!

The overall building (which has a secure main entrance) is also well-maintained and clean.

We had originally planned some day trips beyond Ceret but we liked the ambiance of this apartment so much that we ended up spending our entire 10-day stay in town! After staying in this apartment, it is easy to understand why all of those super famous artists were drawn to Ceret. Would we rebook/recommend the apartment? Oui! Absolument! Hopefully, the apartment will be available the next time we visit!

P.S. We recommend a breakfast coffee/croissant at the nearby bakery. In addition to the yummy aroma & taste of just-out-of-the-oven bread, it’s fun to watch the flow of people streaming into the shop to pick up their baked goods for the day. Before we knew it, we too joined the bakery’s regulars.
