Newly Renovated Rural Cottage In Peaceful Setting With Private Hot Tub

Overview

Property

Updated: 05-Dec-2016
2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Country Views, close to Crail and Anstruther

Railway Crossing Cottage, as it's name suggests, is a lovely stone built, detached former railway cottage which was used by the crossing keeper in the days of the St. Andrews to Anstruther Railway. It has just undergone a complete renovation and extension and now provides you with the most comfortable accommodation for holidays and weekends away with family and friends. There is a large safe fenced garden with a private hot tub, 2 decking areas, BBQ, patio table and chairs. There are views in all directions to the surrounding countryside and distant views to the Isle of May.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms; a double bedroom and a twin/double bedroom, a spacious modern bathroom and a delightful open plan living, kitchen/dining area. The living area has 2 comfy leather sofas, a log burning stove, warm oak furniture, FreeView TV, a BluRay Player and Wi-Fi.

The kitchen is newly fitted, very well equipped and spacious, with a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, gas hob, electric oven and microwave.

There is ample off road parking to the front of the property for at least 2 cars. 1 well behaved dog is welcome. Cot and highchair are available free of charge

Peaceful, relaxing cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

You couldn't ask for a more relaxing break. The cottage is lovely, all nicely furnished. It's of a really good standard.warm & cosy with log fire, which was all ready with logs ready to light. Kate the owner kindly left us 4 friends a bottle of wine & hand written post card with a picture of the cottage with a lovely welcome note. We loved the hot tub which is an added bonus!. Would definitely return to this lovely peaceful cottage.

Just wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

After a one hour drive from Edinburgh Airport to Railway Crossing Cottage, we first enjoyed the house itself. Looking at the sea through the windows, the bedroms offered really comfortable space and a great place to sleep. The bathroom is well designed and decorated in high standard. The living room and the kitchen were just amazing and also high standard. Everything you need is there. Perfect! The countryside around the house is awesome. We loved it, having a run up the hill or down to the coast and jumping in the hot tub directly after that. Great! We did a lot of barbecue on the smoker with fresh fished shrimps or perfect done meat from the butcher (Claire). Delicous!

We really enjoyed the stay there, loved the house, the warm welcome with wine and Card and everything well prepared! Thank you very much for two wonderfull weeks!

Brilliant family get away

  • 5 of 5

It was fantastic. As soon as we arrived I knew we were going to have a great holiday as the cottage was beautifuly renovated and all equipment was superb. Such a great little cottage and location-wise ideal. Wanted somewhere quiet but 5 mins to both Antruther and Crail by car with Elie beach also a favourite just 15 mins away. You do need a car but that wasnt an issue for us. We had 2 kids, 2 adults and a dog. Would be great for couples too though. We will return. Thanks for your hospitality.

A home from home

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was absolutely ideal for us as a family. It felt like a home from home as soon as we stepped into the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, and our young boys loved playing in the garden. The weather we had for our stay was fantastic, so we were able to use the outside tables and chairs all the time.

The cottage had everything and more that we needed. The children's games, jigsaws and dvds were an added bonus.

The property itself was well kept, and we couldn't fault the cleanliness of the place. It was nice to stay in a place that felt well looked after.

We would highly recommend this cottage to other people wanting to be based in the East Neuk of Fife. It was a great base for touring the area, and further afield such as St Andrews and Dundee.

A perfect place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

Our holiday started as soon as we opened the front door. What a delightful cottage. Although finished to a high standard the cottage invites you in to a homely, peaceful & relaxing atmosphere. A personal note from Kate & a bottle of wine to welcome us, was a lovely added touch. The property was very clean, comfortable & the kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub is a must. I would recommend this cottage to everyone looking for a peaceful & relaxing time away. We will definitely be back.

A beautiful property which I would recommend

  • 5 of 5

This property was ideal for our party of four adults and dog(s) a bit secluded if you don't have a car. The cottage was well maintained and beautifully furnished with everything you would need plus the added bonus of a hot tub. Definitely will book again. Kate was so helpful as was Ian when we had a little problem with the tub, he talked us through it over the phone, but if he had been available said he would have come over to cottage - which was nice.
