About this property

The house is set on a 3 hectare property on a hillside over the Douro river. It is an organic farm with vineyards, fruit trees, backyard with vegetables and herbs and several garden areas. It also has a forest area overlooking the Douro river.

The farmhouse, completely fenced, is entirely for the exclusive use of renters during the holiday period.

Our guests can harvest organic vegetables, herbs and farm fruits. At Quinta da Vinha Nova we produce Portinha Green Wine.

The house was built by filmmaker Manoel de Oliveira. It was restored by the current owners, Guilhermina and Joaquim, and augmented with a modern architecture component.

It has 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living room with dining and living area with fireplace, kitchen, and two terraces with stunning views of the Douro river. It has central heating. It has barbecue and several areas for outdoor dining. Has laundry in an annex to the house with bathroom

It has a private pool and games room with billiards, dice, darts and various table games. It has Ping Ping abroad.

The house is 1 hour and 20 minutes by train or by car from Porto and 30 minutes by car or train from the Douro Vinhateiro Zone, a World Heritage Site, where Port Wine is produced. In the city of Régua, 30 minutes away, you can go boating in the Douro.

It is also 1 hour from the city of Guimarães, also a World Heritage Site, a historic city where Portugal was born. 45 minutes away is also the beautiful city of Amarante and the city of Lamego.

Quinta da Vinha Nova

Stunning position and lovely to sample some of the garden produce and eggs, and the wine of course. The local railway was useful to visit up and down the Douro Valley as a break from driving along the steep and winding roads. Our flight to Porto arrived quite late. I would recommend stopping at a supermarket on the way for provisions.

Great Stay

Spacious property with the most amazing views over the Douro Valley. We enjoyed a relaxing week here after spending a few days in Porto. The villa has everything needed for a self catering holiday including a well kitted out games room & infinity pool.

A wonderful Quinta with an amazing view.

We truly enjoyed our stay and recommend this home to anyone. It is situated in the mountains of the Douro Region overlooking the river. It has a wonderful deck to enjoy your morning coffee or meals. The home has plenty of space (we had 5 in our party) and is fully equipped with everything you need. This Quinta is a working vineyard and farm. It is wonderful that they allow you to harvest from their farm. We enjoyed lettuce, potatoes, onions, herbs, garlic, cherries, strawberries, blueberries, and fresh eggs. They also produce their own vinho verde which I recommend purchasing a couple bottles. There is also an infinity edge pool and a game room. If you have kids they will have plenty to keep themselves entertained. From the Quinta to the more popular wineries it takes roughly 60+ minutes with lots of winding roads. Nearby are some historic sites, museums and thermal baths. There is also a grocery store 10-15 minutes away. The owners are very nice and responsive. We will be back.

Pool, house, garden and view amazing.

Drive up from Porto along the valley was worth doing, got lost and the switchback roads were hard work but called the owner and she talked us in. The house is great, perfect for our family loved the pool and games room. Went out each day to pick fresh produce from the garden and had lovely meals overlooking the valley drinking delicious local wine. Chickens were obviously having a rest as egg production wasn't really excessive but nice to go down each morning and check. Picked lots of oranges and fresh juice every day. Didn't go out much so not sure how much or little there is to do but left the house feeling healthier and very relaxed, all of us loved it.

Lovely stay

Fantastic view in a marvellous setting. Well equipped, comfortable property and friendly owners. Weather was good for our stay and the pool was very welcome! Had fun playing pool and table football in the games room. Enjoyed sunny days out to Porto and Guimarães. Would recommend.
