Luxury villa in idyllic spot

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week in La Croix Val Mer. The villa and pool were everything we hoped for and Alex looked after us beautifully. Can't recommend this villa highly enough. Absolutely everything has been thought of and the views are stunning.

Great Villa and Setting

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd year holidaying for 2 weeks at Villa Casanou. We loved every day of our holidays here. 1st week we were family of 8 (6 adults and 2children), 2nd week two families (4 adults and 5 children aged 14-8). As every year we had a great time. The villa is beautifully furnished and equipped for comfortable safe catering. The air-conditioning is great plus, as nights can be very hot. For kids there is boule, table tennis and of course the swimming pool! The extra for us is that pool is salty ( i.e. maintained with minimum chlorine), as our son suffers from eczema.

Generally, we went to Pardigon beach, as there is a raft, which kids like swimming to and diving of. The Cove beach is just a short walk from the villa and it was our favourite place for snorkelling in the late afternoons. It is La Croix Valmer's best kept secret.

We dined at home and in local restaurants of La Croix Valmer and had one big night in St. Tropez!

Thank you Gordon and Anne for lovely holidays and we hope to stay in your villa again next year.

Beautiful villa

  • 5 of 5

This is a stunning villa, the perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday. It is very well equipped and furnished to an extremely high standard with everything you will need to cater for your family. The beds are extremely comfortable so we all slept very well particularly with the air conditioning and white linen. We drove to the beach everyday and hired sun beds at Dauphin Plage, a super beach bar which sells delicious food too. This is our 14th year to the area and we will definitely be back next year. Highly recommended.

Casanou - the place to be for perfect holidays

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay in Gordon and Anne's villa "Casanou". We were 6 + 3 Kids and we all were surprised in a positive way from this beautiful mansion. The house is outside and inside very very beautiful and in all details thought out. Both, living kitchen as well as bedrooms and bathrooms are very elegant and modern furnishings. The only equipment in the kitchen that we missed (we are Germans ;) ) was a automatic coffee machine for coffee beans.

Another Highlight was the pool area, that we used often.

We think that you an your wife have spent a lot of time and money to build up such a superb villa in La Croix Valmer.

All in all, we had spent 2 great holiday weeks in Casanou and the area la Croix-Valmer.

Last but not least: a great compliment to Alex the caretaker on site. She was very helpful and always available.

We will certainly come back here again

Owner's Response: Dear Stefan Thank you for your kind review of our home in La Croix Valmer. We are so pleased to know that you, your family and friends enjoyed our home and the local area. We had to smile when we read your comment about needing a machine for coffee beans, you cannot beat freshly ground coffee beans and the coffee pods are not quite the same are they? We will look to provide a coffee machine to grind the beans for your next visit. Thank you once again And we send you and your family our best wishes. Gordon and Anne

Great holidays in a beautiful villa and setting

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in Gordon and Anne's villa (1st time in 2014). We, family of 4 + grandparents, enjoyed our last year holidays so much that we returned this year and coming back yet again in late August!

Villa is practically designed and tastefully furnished. Air-conditioning in all rooms of the house was very much appreciated this year, as it has been very hot summer so far. The swimming pool is of a good size. The big positive for us is that the pool is not over-chlorines, but slightly salted, which works very well for my son who suffers from eczema. The villa has lovely views of the sea. The kitchen is fully equipped with the latest appliances. All to full comfort of a large family.

Villa is well positioned for enjoying all aspects of the holidays; a short walk to a small (almost) private beach, a short drive to shops, a short walk to fruit/vegetable stall.

It must be mentioned that TV didn't work. We understand from the notes in the house that it was due to provider's change of satellite directions. We didn't mind TV not working. It actually worked as good excuse with kids and we ended up playing more games!

Thank you Gordon and Anne. We can't wait to be back in few weeks time.

Kind Regards,

The Tullis Family

Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

For the second year in a row, we enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Gordon and Anne's home. We love the pool, yard, view, patio and the very practical and modern house. Our college aged children played ping pong and boules often. The (almost private) beach is really within walking distance, the larger, public beaches only a short bike ride away. When we were in the mood for some action, St Tropez and its beaches are only about 20-30 minutes by car. A PERFECT vacation and setting. We hope to come again! R&A

Nearest Barpub : Chez Dada, Chateau Valmer, La Pinede, at 1 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Golf Club De Beauvallon at 14 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A8 Autoroute at 28.9 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Chez Dada & Chateau Valmer at 1 Kilometres Car: recommended

The sandy cove of Vergeron is just 300 metres from the villa and the 6 kilometres of natural sandy beaches; Plage de Sylvabelle, Plage de Heraclee , Plage de Gigaro, Plage de Ponent, Plage de Debarquement and numerous beach restaurants are all within easy walking distance and can be accessed directly by walking along the coastal footpath. La Croix Valmer is reputed for the quality of its swimming waters.

The paradise of La Croix Valmer in the heart of the St Tropez peninsula is a haven of fauna and flora, fine sandy beaches and paths winding through vineyards. Often referred to as paradise on earth, the quality-of-life is the slogan of the village of La Croix Valmer. The centre of the village is easily reached on foot at 2 km away and has a Sunday market and many vineyards including a Cotes de Provence AOC vineyard. The village has been able to keep its peace and traditions in spite of tourists. The town owns 220 ha. of nature reserves and is a magnificent place for walking in the woods and along the coast from Gigaro beach to Cap Lardier (the sentiers des douaniers). You can walk along the Littoral and onto Cap Lardier which is a conservation area, has natural fauna and flora with small coves, umbrella pines, fine sands and some naturist beaches. If by contrast you want the glamour, glitz and nightlife, St Tropez awaits. Its famous port with exotic yachts, celebrities, nightlife, clubs, bistros, cafes, artists, Tuesday and Saturday Markets at St Tropez are all just a short drive away. (14.7kms) Drive from La Croix Valmer via the D559 alternatively, take the D93 tourist route and you will pass the famous Pampelonne beach with it's beach restaurants like Club 55 where you can sometimes rub shoulders with film stars, footballers and celebrities. Ste Maxime and Cavalaire both coastal towns within easy driving distance (17kms and 4.8kms) which also have own style and the attractions of their ports, marinas and casinos.

Why not visit Bormes les Mimosas, one of the most floral decorated towns of France? Old houses are covered with pink tiles, the streets are lined with flowers and the medieval village with its castle ruins and ramparts offers a panoramic view of the plains and the lles d'Or. On the way you can admire the coastal views and stop at the The Domaine du Rayol (20 hectares), also known as the Jardin botanique du Rayol and the Parc botanique à Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer. It is a botanical garden and arboretum located on the Avenue des Belges, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer and is listed as a Jardin Remarquable by the Committee of Parks and Gardens of the Ministry of Culture of France. It is open to the public, with an admission fee.

Gassin, Grimaud Village and La Garde Freinet are all worth a visit as is the internationally famous Port Grimaud with it waterways and brightly coloured houses. A kind of Venice in France! In season you can take the ferry from La Croix Valmer to the island of Porquerolles which is an excellent day out. You can hire bikes and cycle your way around the island which is now part of a national park (the Port-Cros Parc National) and nature conservation area.

Other activities in the area include jets ski, beach volleyball, pottery, mosaic, sculpture, quad bikes, karting, paintball, ten pin bowling and Golf: A Golfer's Paradise The Gassin Golf Country Club is an exceptional, international-class golf course bearing the mark of an immense champion, Gary PLAYER, nicknamed the International Ambassador to Golf. This living legend, the second most-titled player in the world and only the 4th golfer to ever have won the 4 Grand Slam tournaments, who has supervised the construction of golf courses all over the world, has succeeded in passing on his experience to the team formed by Thierry SPRECHER - a golf architect and Gery WATINE - a former Number 1 French player, who have built more than 25 golf courses throughout France. Their respective competencies allowed the elaboration of a top quality, extremely varied, 18-hole course over 6 100 sq.m. which requires as much technique as strategy as well as a compact, 9-hole course. They also took care that the course was as enjoyable for a beginner as for a confirmed golfer; indeed, the course can be as complicated or as straightforward as the player wishes. Close to Grimaud, in the bay of Saint Tropez, the Beauvallon Golf course is one of the Var's oldest Courses. Opened in 1927, this course of 5919m (par 70), offers fairways that are slightly undulating and pleasantly wooded.
