Ta' Trejni sets itself apart, being newly renovated it comes with all the modern yet authentic trimmings the most demanding of us want in private holiday let property with a private pool, the only time you will be disappointed is the moment you close the door for the very last time.

Ta' Trejni comes with a gated secure drive in, upon entering this delightful home you are greeted with a typical Mediterranean open plan living aspect (Air Conditioned) boasting large arched windows with panoramic picturesque views across the Maltese countryside.

The living area offers leather sofa's from which to sink into and enjoy that book, some TV or simply just to take in the splendid countryside views, the dining table and chairs sit comfortably between the living and kitchen area, the kitchen comes fully equipped having a large breakfast bar.

Time to sleep... At ground floor level you find a double bedroom (Air Conditioned) with en-suite shower cubicle facility, a twin bedroom (Air Conditioned) with two single beds a further twin bedroom (Air Conditioned) with two single beds, a separate bathroom beautifully finished in marble having a shower lead over bathtub, a utility room with washing machine. First floor level is accessed via spiral stairs which shall reveal a double bedroom (Air Conditioned) with large shower cubicle en-suite facility, a separate (Air Conditioned) single bedroom with single bed.

About the Owner

Having lived on the islands 19yrs I suppose I can now be classed as a local, formerly from Manchester in the UK. Needless to say I love the islands and the most prominent factor being the people of Malta, warm heart, sense of humour, respectful, strong family morals just about sums it up! Oh yes, to mention of course the super weather we are blessed with, after many years of rainy summers in England I am not only blessed with sunshine, but my darling local lady Carrol.

We enjoy eating out, especially Carrol..! You can be sure to enjoy some fine restaurants all over the islands, where quality is high on the menu with a great local bottle of red to wash it down, yep the true Mediterranean Maltese way. Summer months are a delight to swim in crystal blue waters and a very warm sea, snorkelling is a must!

Please do ask any questions about the accommodation or the islands as a whole, I'm a well seasoned wealth of local knowledge after 19yrs I don't think there is much I didn't do, see or eat ;)

Fabulous villa !

After years of trying to convince my husband to holiday in Malta he finally relented. We are rather selective in our accommodation and this stood out straight away. On arrival we were greeted by Nicolina who was very professional in showing us everything in the villa and directed us to the best supermarket Pavi. The villa is very spacious, with huge windows to let in light, and comfortable lounge suite. We never used the TV once due to us enjoying sitting outside enjoying the peaceful quietness of the place. A five minute walk and there is a really good restaurant and this villa is located in the best area to explore the Island. The pool is gorgeous, and we loved the bamboo gazebo so much we are going to do one in our garden. While we were there it was very hot but had very strong winds, so was a bit difficult to eat outside, maybe a little wind breaker around the table could help. Really really did have a wonderful holiday. Thank you.

Excellent accommodation and fabulous location. A short walk to all the facilities you need and easy drives to all the sites of the island. Would highly recommend.

Unresolved annoyances

We have enjoyed our stay at Ta' Trejni apart from a couple of items:

We arrived to find the boiler was off and wouldn't ignite so we had no heating or hot water. We had been up since 3.00am to catch our flight, arrived at the house at 2.00pm and it was 7.30pm before the owner and an engineer arrived to sort out the boiler. They left at 9.00pm by which time we were cold and in need of a hot shower. The following day the boiler wouldn't work again and we believe someone else came to look at it whilst we were out. All the time we were there we had problems with it - usually having to re-set it every hour to keep the heating going and provide hot water. In fact engineers were waiting outside the property to service the boiler as we left at the end of our holiday!

The TV was also playing up and the owner fixed this but never replaced the scart lead for the DVD player so that was unusable all week.

Having said all the above, the property is in a lovely location and very peaceful. Visiting later in the year may have been better as it is so windy at Ta' Trejni and has been too chilly to sit outside.

The Cliffs Restaurant is only a couple of minutes walk away and we had a lovely meal there. The staff were very friendly and when they knew we were neighbours offered to help us if we had any problems at all whilst in Malta.

Owner's Response: I am delighted on the whole you enjoyed your stay, however we apologies for the issue with the boiler of which was determined as faulty upon your arrival. We acted with immediate effect in contacting the engineer to visit and solve the matter appointing him at the earliest available time and to treat as URGENT! We couldn't get him over till 19:30 that day :( Unfortunately the system relapsed the following morning, your notification was dealt with immediately the engineer visited that morning and again after you departed to carry out a complete overhaul of the system, we again apologies for the inconvenience caused. The scart lead is swapped between the local TV receiver and the DVD dependant on which device you are looking to use as there is only one scart input. Unfortunately at the time you visited storm DORIS was passing over central and southern parts of Italy and Malta catching the tail end of it, yes indeed it was extremely windy in fact the Malta - Sicily ferry was cancelled for several days until storm DORIS had passed. We take the comfort of all guest seriously, one can find plenty of feedback reviews also on TripAdvisor, upon any notification of a fault it is treated as URGENT!

Better than we imagined...

You've researched - viewed properties - made your selection. The description is perfect, reviews are good and the photos look great. But when you actually arrive, well, some things just aren't as they seemed. You know the feeling. Well, not with Ta' Trejni. This villa was absolutely perfect, more beautiful than we could have imagined. Well appointed, comfortable and convenient. The location is on the west side of Malta, about 25 minutes from the airport. Just a short stroll into the village and to the ever popular, The Cliffs restaurant. We dealt with a management company in booking the villa and very request we had was professionally fulfilled. After visiting Valletta and the very touristy surrounding areas, we we so happy to have chosen Ta' Trejni. Just wonderful. You won't be disappointed.

Local Hideway

I wanted to book a Villa/Farmhouse to spend new year and that was fairly secluded and yet close to town and this fitted the bill exactly. Ta' Trejni is very close to the cliffs at Dingli (approx. 100m) and is on one of the highest points in Malta, therefore it can get very windy, especially in the winter months. The area is very popular with walkers/hikers and has amazing views. There is a restaurant (approx. 75m) from the property called The Cliffs, the food is very good and reasonably priced. it is also a cultural centre for the area.

Ta' Trejni is a fairly new build and has been done with traditional Maltese style but with all the mod cons. The house itself is open plan with the living room, dining room and kitchen all being in the same space. All the bedrooms then come off this open space with a family bathroom and en-suite on the master bedroom. The furniture is traditional but modern and fits in beautifully. There is a spiral staircase that leads to the roof of the property. The windows in this property offer panoramic views over the surrounding area and village.

The kitchen is fully fitted including large fridge/freezer, large 5 burner gas hob and oven and microwave and all the plates and utensils that you would ever need. There is also a utility room which houses the washing machine and central heater/hot water boiler. There is also the added benefit of plenty of English TV Channels, a DVD player and Wi-Fi.

The Gardens and pool area are immaculate and well landscaped. The entire property is enclosed by a wall and has a large secured gated drive.

In the village there are several shops including convenience stores, bakery, butchers, pharmacy etc, They are very well stocked and you can get practically anything you require. There are also a couple of restaurants.

The only thing I would suggest is that you hire car although there is a regular bus service but I think this stops quite early in the evening.

We had this villa in December but unfortunately, Malta had its worst recorded weather in the last 30 plus years so we were unable to benefit from the pool or BBQ but we will definitely be going back, but in the warmer months. In short beautiful house in a beautiful area.

The most wonderful part of Ta' Trejni there is no third party intrusion, being lovingly renovated to a very high standard and just 5 minutes drive to Mdina.

Ta' Trejni is situated on the limits of the village of Dingli (or Had-Dingli) being found on the west coast of Malta 4 kilometres from Rabat and the silent City of Mdina the original capital of Malta, where one can spend many an evening in one of the fine restaurants and 15 kilometres from the now capital Valletta. Dingli lies on a plateau of some 250mtrs above sea level, which is one of the highest points of Malta, the area provides not only open sea views over the tiny, uninhabited isle of Filfla, but also an excellent vantage point over Malta. The beautiful unspoilt countryside here is ideal for walking. St. Pauls Bay and St. Julians can be reached in 15 minutes by car.
