Peaceful villa, sleeps 8, 5BR/2BA, amazing pool with sea-view overlooking nature

Great Family villa, with children entertainment and amenities: ping-pong, piano, board-games, baby high chair and changing mat etc.

The villa is 250sqm and comfortably sleeps 8 guests with two bathrooms and two separate WC. The spacious living area is light and airy and opens onto a large 60sqm south-facing terrace. Opposite the villa are the fields of eucalyptus and mimosas in the nearby hills, and from the terrace the Mandelieu sea-front can be seen; the area is very quiet and peaceful at the end of a small hill road.

A large mezzanine is overlooking the main living area with a double bed. Downstairs 3 bedrooms open up to the garden and the infinity swimming pool (2 with double beds and 1 with twin beds); An protected alcove opposite the bedrooms contains a sofa bed (single or double). All rooms are freshly painted. The pool is an Infinity Salt Water Pool (no chlorine) , with a large stone terrace where one can relax in one of the sun loungers.

The house has been decorated by us for us: all floors are tiled, furniture items tend to be family antiqued furniture, you try to put as many pictures as possible to give you an overview ! The kitchen has a traditional Provence Style and is well equipped as we tend to cook quite a lot.

We have a ping pong table, board games, some books and a piano area. We have tried to make the villa as child-friendly as possible and provide a high chair, changing mat, and beach toys.

There is parking space in front of the main entrance for 2 cars under the shade of a tree, and additional space at the back of the house if needed.

As stated, the setting is peaceful and quiet and offers far reaching countryside views of the nature reserve of the Esterel and the Bay of Cannes. The beach is only 15 minute away by car and we tend to go late afternoon when it gets a bit cooler and people start to leave. Cannes is 20mn away, great for shopping, restaurants, cinemas etc. Being outside Cannes is helpful to reach out other sites, such as Biot, St Paul de Vence, Nice or Monaco. There is really a lot to do.

Recent Renovations- Terrace completely replaced and newly painted bedrooms 2011; Infinity swimming pool completed in 2009.

Very nice villa with great swimming pool. Barbecue and cooking facilities very good

We have stayed in a number of villas in the south of France and this was one of the best. The pool is excellent and being an infinity pool kept itself very clean. We stayed on August and the pool was cooler than we normally experience.

We used the bbq several times and was very good. The kitchen is fitted with a hob with 3 gas rings and 1 electric hob. It also has a separate oven, microwave and large fridge. A freezer is located in the utility.

The drive way is a little narrow and steep otherwise the access is ok and there is plenty of car parking space.

Overall it is a excellent villa with local access to Pegomas and supermarkets

Delightful villa in a great location

This is one of the best properties that we have rented. The location is ideal, completely private with stunning views and a 30 minute drive to Cannes. We had a choice of beaches within easy distance and the Aqualand was just over an hour away.

The house is very well equipped for families, with a lovely kitchen, balcony and everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Our 3 children thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic swimming pool.

We certainly hope to be able to return, as we have been left with lasting memories of a superb holiday aided by warm welcome from Elisabeth and helpful communication from Alexis as soon as we made our booking.

Comfort in beautiful surrounds

Our family of 6 stayed at this property during the Australian Winter school holidays. Aside from the charming and comfortable home, my best memories include the many alfresco dining experiences enjoyed on the sunny afternoons spent on the wonderful terrace. Of course the kids would say it was the pool (overlooking the green valley) that provided the best memories!

Relaxing and pleasurable stay

We are looking for a place to recharge our inner batteries but at the same time, not to refrain from leasure activities. This charming villa is the right spot! Due to its idyllic location on top of a hill we have not only a stunning view to the nature but also have an absolute privacy. The villa is spacious with its lovely furnished sleeping rooms, opened to the pool. We can spend the day at the villa, relaxing by the pool or playing ping pong or sitting/sunbathing on an oversized terrace with a great view. The next beach is in 10 min drive. Cannes can be reached in a short time. We are used to be in Grasse. From the villa we can reach every place we want (in 10 min we are on the highway!). The owner and his local representative are very friendly and helpful. The villa has everything we need (well equipped kitchen, internet, TV...).

We'll come back next year (hopefully it's vacant at this time!). We recommend warmheartedly to all people searching for "calm & action".

Lovely villa at Pegomas

Our family from Broadstairs, England spent an enjoyable hot,sunny fortnight in this lovely villa during the first two weeks in September 2013. The owner was very helpful at all stages of the booking and we were very impressed with his speedy return of deposit money. We were looked after on arrival by his friendly representative, Elisabeth who even conducted us to the local supermarket for initial supplies.

The villa is spacious and well-appointed, particularly the modern kitchen which opens onto an extensive balcony affording beautiful views of the valley and the hills beyond. This was a good place to have our meals. There was also a new gas barbecue which we did not use. You could hardly find a more calm and tranquil place than this setting on the hillside, no traffic, no noisy neighbours. Serendipity.

Three lower floor bedrooms with comfortable beds open onto the pool and patio area, all facing south. The pool was too cool for the younger folk but ideal for the hardy.From the rear of the villa we enjoyed walks up into the woods full of eucalyptus and mimosa which must be a grand sight in springtime.

A car is essential and the approach to the villa needs care. There is adequate parking for three cars on the level beside the house and the tall iron gates gave a sense of security. We spent days on the beach at Theoule or visiting villages in the Alpes Maritimes. Cagnes for Renoir's house and garden, Mougins for the artist's shops and Biot where we bought glass and saw it being made.there was also the delightful village of Auribeau with a good restaurant just a few kilometres over the hill. Pegomas has an excellent riverside restaurant with what looks to be a discerning clientele on Friday nights.cand there are nice butcher and bakery shops if you do not require the large supermarket. The waterside Chateau of the American couple, Henry and Marie Clews at La Napoule is well worth a visit and close to Mandelieu and Theoule---- only about 20 mins. To the coast.

I have recommended the villa and its unique location to friends and family and will return should this octogenarian writer of the review remain fit and healthy.

Belle surprise que cette villa très calme, confortable et spacieuse particulièrement adaptée pour une famille nombreuse avec des enfants adolescents...la piscine est un must (sans chlore et sans entretien) et presque à toute heure de la journée il est possible de se relaxer dehors à l'ombre...même les voitures ont un espace ombragé..La terrasse est très pratique et particulièrement agréable le matin au petit-déjeuner brunch avec la vue, ou le soir pour un barbecue avec le petit vent qui affleure la colline avoisinante

Bref nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances sans aucun problème malgré la chaleur caniculaire.

Location

We bought this property 17 years ago and it has been our main holiday home since then. The kids love it and we now start having their friends as holiday guests! The neighbourhood is lovely and we know all our local neighbours. We have enhanced the house over the years and are continuing to do so. We hope our guests will enjoy their stay as much as we do. Initially, we chose not to have any WiFi and TV to get away from screens while on holidays, but have now obviously given up on some of our principles for rental purposes - we have Internet access and also a large TV!

Pegomas is a beautiful location set with views of mimosas-laden country side. The nearest beaches of Cannes or Mandelieu are only a 15 min drive, with the famous Perfume capital of the world. 'Grasse' 15 mins in the other direction.

The famous villages of Mougins, St. Paul de Vence, Antibes, Eze, are all within easy reach. Biot and Vallauris are also worth a visit for their glass and pottery crafts.

Monaco and Nice can be reached within 30-50mn by car or take the train from Mouans Sartoux and enjoy a scenic journey along the coast. Use the autoroute to go to St Tropez (allow 1h) or try reaching St Tropez by ferry from Cannes or Ste Maxime (15 minute trip) - it misses out on the worst of the traffic, and you get a great view of the town as you approach it from the sea.

Another great day outing is a visit to the islands opposite Cannes, St Marguerite and St Honorat. Both can be reached by ferry (40mn).

Museum-wise, we have enjoyed the Fondation Maeght (St Paul de Vence), the Picasso museum (Antibes), Fernand Leger museum (Biot), Matisse museum (Nice), Chagall museum (Nice), Bonnard museum (Cannet) and many others all very close by - just to mention as well the Museum of Antique Automobiles (Monaco).

For children, many things are on offer: Marineland is a water centre with fabulous killer whales and dolphins shows (amongst many other things); the Frejus Zoo; the prehistoric caves; Monaco aquarium, and much more !

For nature-lovers, L'Esterel offers great hiking trips that our children love. We also venture in the hills behind our house towards Auribeau for a lovely walk between the eucalyptus and the mimosas. Slightly further away, Lac St Cassien is a must see, for a refreshing swim in the fresh water lake.

The spectacular Verdon Gorge is a 2-hour drive away. A magnificent canyon and gigantic cliffs of calcareous rock, you can enjoy the Azur's fresh water lakes or for the more adventurous do some white water rafting in the intertwining rivers. An alternative, maybe slightly less spectacular but much closer, are the 'Gorges du Loup', only 30 minutes away

Golf: The closest golf course is only 10-15 minutes away and there are another dozen courses within one hour's drive.

Ski: Isola 2000 offers skiing for all levels, just over an hour by car, and for families the small resort of Greolieres-les-Neiges is only 50km away.

We feel in love with the light, the volumes, the fantastic view and the warm décor. We have built the swimming pool 7 years ago and this has changed the way we use the house: the kids are outside the whole time morning and late afternoon. We tend to go to the beach for later afternoon to avoid the crowds and the heat, and also for water activities (sailing or scuba-diving in Cannes or Mandelieu).

All bedrooms newly painted!
