Magnificent architect designed 3 bedroom villa with private pool

This magnificent architect designed villa has a large private pool (8.5m x 4m), mature tropical gardens and sea views. Situated in the exclusive and peaceful Monte de los Almendros area of Salobrena it is ideal for holidays with family and friends. The villa is south-east orientated and enjoys sunshine for most of the day. The exterior of this villa keeps a typical Andalusian style.

On the spacious plot you will find a tropical garden with palm and fruit trees, amongst them banana, orange, lemon and mango. There is also a fantastic fully equipped outdoor bar area with barbecue, sink and refrigerator to relax enjoy the typical Spanish way of life.

On the ground floor you find the large modern and well equipped kitchen, two spacious living areas with a wood burning stove and a cloak room.

A grand spiral staircase takes you to the first floor where the three bedrooms are located. There are also two bathrooms here, one en-suite. All the bedrooms are double or triple aspect and they all have direct access to the large upper terrace with sea and mountain views. You can see the amazing sunrise from all the bedrooms.

There is air conditioning (hot and cold air) in the lounge/dining room and in all the bedrooms. Internet is also available (6mb/s) and is included in the price.

Local Spanish TV channels, UK Streaming TV & Netflix (if you have an account) via Roku and Astra european satellite stations are available. An Apple TV unit is also provided so you can watch any movies you may have downloaded onto an apple mac, ipad or iphone. You can also play music from your playlists or stream video from any website.

The guests of this villa also have free access to the communal facilities with pool and tennis court, which you can reach within 2 minutes walk. Within 10 minutes drive there is a golf course, and of course, a great variety of beaches.

There is a garage and driveway with parking for 2 cars.

Why Graham Startin-Field chose Costa Tropical & Lecrin Valley

We fell in love with Villa Palmeras as soon as we saw it. The previous owner was the original architect who had built it for himself and lived here for 20 years. Everything has been very carefully thought through and the layout is perfect. There is so much light in the property!

We have already updated much of the house and now have what we like to think is the perfect holiday home. The highlights for us are the outside area where we spend most of time. The pool and the views are better than we can show in the photographs and the BBQ are is just the best area to relax in the evenings with the family!

Make sure you wake up in time to watch the sunrise on at least one morning. The views to Motril are incredible.

What makes this villa unique

Salobrena is the perfect location for us. It is far enough away from the expat areas and much more authentically Spanish. It is also served by Malaga, Almeria and Granada airports so there is always a good deal to be found when looking for flights. The weather is stable all year round and is the perfect get away destination.

Great spot for a family holiday away from the popular resorts

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It really suited our requirements for a relaxing holiday with the ability to to get to other areas around the Costa Tropical. Exactly as expected from the specification given. We alternated our days between sightseeing and staying around the villa. The villa really is a great place to spend the day relaxing around. You can take a short walk down the hill to a community pool/tennis courts/football pitch - It also has a cafe/bar. You'll probably want a car to get you around as its a few miles to the town of Salobrena. You can hire Taxi's easy enough though. Motril is a 15 minute journey to a massive supermarket which we went to most days. There's a few nice restaurants that we went to near the beach and more that we missed out on I'm sure. A walk up the town to the castle is worth it, it's steep though and will probably take 45 mins once you've worked it out! Alternatively you can get a bus up there. If you have a car, the time and you don't mind a drive it's within reach of some fab places to visit.

I'd definitely consider staying here again, Graham made the stay really easy with helpful info and was on hand at all times if you needed him via HomeAway.

Fantastic villa

A very high spec villa, just like the photos promised. Very well equipped with lots of thoughtful extras left. Well maintained pool and outdoor space, with great BBQ area. We also used the communal pool with children's area, again very clean and well maintained.

Perfect place to unwind

The house feels luxurious, in a peaceful setting with great views of Salobrena, the mountains and the sea. The pool was a must to help us cool down in the heat. Finding the house for the first time is tricky, but we had a warm welcome from Dani. It is a short drive to Salobrena itself, and it's worth going further afield - we went to Pampaneira in the Sierra Nevada region, which is a fascinating place.

Graham was quick to respond by email to any of our questions, so I'd recommend the house for a relaxing holiday.

Magnificent views, pool, outside space and lovely clean interior!

We arrived after a delayed flight but we're welcomed by Dani who was very patient and explained everything in detail.

We discovered the property was really well equipped with a whole manner of kitchen implements, pool accessories and plenty of space.

The property is a little bit up the mountain but the views are worth it. The trip to the town is only a few minutes and there is a brilliant selection of places to eat and enjoy a drink within the town and by the beach.

The BBQ area offers another place to relax as a family and has plenty of space for a quiet evening soirée.

My family and I had an exceptional visit. I forgot to fill in the visitors book but I would recommend this villa to anyone looking for a more Spanish experience with the focus on relaxation and fun.

The owners we great throughout the stay, very attentive to our needs and made the whole experience seamless and idyllic.

Thank you Graham and the rest of the team for a wonderful stay!

Stunning property in fabulous location, pictures couldn't do it justice. Extremely well maintained

On arrival met by owner shown around and made very welcome. Fabulous house and surroundings, pictures couldn't do it justice. House has every mod con needed and extremely well stocked with cutlery, pots pans, delf etc. One very minor issue while there and dealt with immediately and without fuss. Needed some info regarding operation of TVs system again sorted immediately. Advice given before travel proved invaluable. We were a family of 2 adults and 3 kids so plenty of room but house also suitable for any type of holiday groups. Property ideal for just relaxing and taking it easy and having a dip in the pool but if you have a car and want to site see there is loads to see and do. Easy access to shops which stock all regular brands so no problem if you want to stay and cook at the house, plenty of restaurants if you wish to eat out.

Outstandig experience in Salobrena

We came there for an 8 day stay in this outstanding Villa at Salobrena. Alltough we were late we were welcomed warmly and showed around getting to know everything. All facilities and beds were clean and well prepared so that we could have a holyday experience very unique. We lived like at home, undisturbed and very private. Extraordinary: Graham, the owner, looked after us and our needs very decent, but was always there via mail wen halp was needed, also by giving good advise with where to go and what to do. Also the handling of all operations through Graham an fewo-direkt was very prompt and uncomplicated. An outstanding holyday, we will come again definitely!

The picture postcard village of Salobrena is situated on the Costa Tropical in the Andalusian province of Granada; it's known as the 'jewel of the Costa Tropical', the village is ideally located, on the beach, in a wonderful sunny climate, yet just 45 minutes from the historical city of Granada, and the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada. You can easily mix a ski and beach holiday.

With the Mediterranean sea at your feet and the snowy mountains of the Sierra Nevada behind you, you couldn't wish for a better combination, Salobrena is a delightful place to visit any time of the year.

The history of town dates back over 6000 years, it's privileged location and climate has attracted settlers from very early on.

There is a Moorish castle in the town, which dates back to the 10th century, and which affords some magnificent views around the area. There is also a Mudejar-style 16th century church. There have been several sites excavated in the local area with Roman remains.

A visit to the museum, within the municipal library, will tell you more about the history of Salobrena. With the help of models and visual aids, the museum tells how Salobrena was once

practically an island, before the river gradually deposited its sediment to form the rich delta that along with the climate explains the abundance of crops such as sugar cane.

The centre of Salobrena, which is built on an impressive rock, is a maze of whitewashed houses, which fall into the districts of Brocal, Albaycín, La Fuente and La Loma. Exploring the town is a lovely way to pass a day; don't take a map, just head in the direction that takes your fancy, you'll find charming interesting spots all of town. Plus you can only really go up or down in Salobrena!
