You couldn't ask for more

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. Very high quality, very spacious, very cosy, very nice hosts.

Location is perfect for exploring The New Forest area and coast.

The hosts very accommodating and helpful. And you miss nothing in the holiday flat.

Try and ask about classic cars, and you'll be surprised.

We definitely want to come back and experience more of this area.

Top class

  • 5 of 5

Excellent accommodation, very well equiped and a relaxing. Situated about 200m from a really good pub/restaurant and only a short stroll into Burley. Central location as all parts of the New forest were only a short drive away. Plenty of walks from the property. Thoroughly recommend and we will certainly make a return visit

Shangri-La.. tranquillity amid 4 beautiful acres

  • 5 of 5

Although I had seen the photos on this site, they do not prepare you for the stunning home and peaceful setting that greets you... the hosts met me and were so friendly and helpful... the apartment is so well equipped, wifi worked perfectly, and the flat/annexe is equipped with everything you could need... so comfortable warm and cosy... and exceptionally clean throughout... I love the huge windows with their views out over the gardens . I had a marvelous week, even though I have no car, I enjoyed both walking around the amazing 4 acres of gardens... each day I found a new secret part ... the plants and trees are truly a joy... a must for any gardener to see... so many varieties to find! and the mature trees are spectacular... I loved the walk through Cott Lane to the village, it is a mile away but an easy flat walk and so pleasant... the surrounding New Forest wildlife is so uplifting to see.. coming from the city it is truly a breath of fresh air and so relaxing here... beautiful ponies everywhere you look! piglets searching for their acorn feast, and the lovely horned cattle with their calves, as well as all the squirrels and elusive deer : ) Burley village has a bike hire if you wish to explore further... myself... I prefer walking! the village is so picturesque, and has a multitude of eating establishments to cater for every pocket... whether you are a couple or family you will find a tasty meal here in the village......... if you prefer to cook yourself there is a supermarket at the end of the village..open morning and afternoon daily... with early closing on a monday, they have a butchers and greengrocer section as well as an off licence so very convenient if you want a cosy meal in the well equipped flat... the bed is so comfy as is the rest of the flat....and the outlook over the 4 acre garden so tranquil and peaceful... I so enjoyed my stay here... the New Forest and its wildlife is just amazing and truly lifts you... I am planning a return to see the gardens in the springtime as I have so enjoyed the autumn colours... so many separate little nooks and crannies to explore, so many plants and shrubs to enjoy.. the trees are spectacular ...an amazing holiday, one I will never forget... such lovely hosts, and friendly people in the area... a little piece of heaven, don't miss it! my host even drove me into the coach station, thankyou Phillip that was so kind and thoughtful of you : )

Car: recommended

The village of Burley is in the centre of the New Forest in beautiful countryside with many interesting walks through the forest with an abundance of flora and fauna and an excellent area for bird watching. Several stables for horse riding are nearby and a golf course very close. Bicycles can be hired in the village.

A day's visit to the Isle of Wight ferry is fun, the boat leaves from Lymington which is about eight miles from Durmast. The beaches are within six miles drive. Christchurch Town with the Abbey and harbour is about 5 mile's drive. Bournemouth and Southampton are equidistant, about 12 miles where there are larger shops, theatres and the Winter Gardens for music in Bournemouth.

There are many lovely gardens to visit such as Mottesfont Abbey, Exbury Gardens, Hilliers, Cranborne Manor. Macpennys, Spinners and many others.
