62 m2, 3 bedrooms and capacity to accomodate 5 persons. I’m located on the ground level floor ni an Art Nouveau building, in the uptown neighbourhood of Gràcia, next to the Plaza Lesseps.
There are two double bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other one with twin beds), a room with a single bed, a full bathroom with shower and hair dryer , a living room and dining area with flat screen TV and DVD, and a fully equipped kitchen. I’ve been refurbished recently and now I have wooden floor, a handsome interior design, a renovated bathroom and excellent Wi-Fi. Are you coming with me? You know, if you’re not in Gràcia, you’re not really in Barcelona.
I’m located in the Gràcia neighbourhood, one of the most alternative, typically local and bohemian parts of Barcelona, full of life, bars, squares “plazas” and cultural activities. I especially recommend the square Plaça del Sol, buzzling and full of bars, and the Plaça de la Virreina, calm and beautiful. Believe me, Gràcia is an experience you cannot miss. My guests usually tell me I’m right.
I’m surrounded by Gaudí from side to side: the Park Güell is just 15 minutes walking; and the Casa Vicens, Gaudís first architectural work in Barcelona, is almost 5 minutes walking.
The nearest metro station (Lesseps) is located 2 minutes from the apartment: in 4 stops (or 10 minutos) you’ll get to Plaza Catalunya, right at the beginning of Las Ramblas.
By the way, at the Plaza Lesseps you’ll find the best public library in town.
Negative: Apartment is very dark, rather any fresh air, smaller than it looks on the pictures
Positive: fast internet, very clean, fully equipped, AC, very good shops (mainstream and alternative) and retaurants in walking distance
Small but very nice apartment, a perfect place to stay with friends. Check-in was very very nice, we chose the company transfer, and it took us to the office and then to the apartment. The apartment was located in a very convenient region, near to metro station, and it was only 5 minutes walking way to Park Guel from the apartment. A supermarket was just after the house. Apartment was well equipped, I think a perfect place to stay while vacation, would be very happy to return there again.
We really enjoyed staying in this spacious, comfortable and cozy apartment. We do also appreciate all efforts you've made to make it so pleasant with your advices and your help :)
Thanks a lot!!
The Gracia neighbourhood is one of the oldest in Barcelona, it has its own personality with lots of atmosphere and huge community feeling… Little more than a village in the 1820’s it was connected to Barcelona by a country lane, this is now known as Paseo de Gracia. The Gracia barrio is quite different from the well developed and spacious urban plan of Example, with it’s small streets and plazas…fiercely proud of it’s past independence from the main city of Barcelona.
The Gracia neighbourhood is inhabited by locals, artists, students and some foreigners and due to the varied residents living here, this barrio has a myriad of restaurants and shops, all offering good quality products at an affordable price… the streets are always full of people going about their daily lives, socialising or chatting with neighbours while sitting in the outdoor cafes….
This area has a wonderful night-life and is full of restaurants and cafes; to really get the feel of this neighbourhood it is imperative to visit the plazas del Sol, de Rius y Taulet, de la Virreina, del Diamant, etc the most important of these is the Rius y Taulet which is the site of the pre-1897 town hall and magnificent clock tower….
The most important of all the sites in the Gracia neighbourhood is Park Güell; this incredible fusion of modernism and urban leisure is the ideal way to spend an afternoon during your visit to Barcelona..
And for those guests coming to Barcelona in August, then Gracia is the place to be. It is at the end of this month that the Festa Major takes place…..an incredibly well-organised local festival in Gracia. Many streets are colourfully decorated each with a certain theme in mind. There is live music on every corner and you will find lots of the local people wining and dining outside. A festival not to missed!!!
Gracia is without a doubt a great neighbourhood to stay in, it is lively, colourful and definitely a slice of real life in Barcelona…
