Within easy reach of Torquay, groups of 10 can enjoy an exclusive seaside stay in this modernised period retreat. Welcoming well-behaved pets and offering versatile sleeping arrangements; Rocklands provides the perfectly accommodates for large families and friends.

Exterior ~

Approached by hand-railed steps leading from the private street-level parking, the large Victorian semi named ‘Rocklands’ enjoys an elevated location overlooking Chelston green, with a pretty front garden to boot.

An enclosed back garden, swing chair and sunny lawn leading to a decked-terrace summer house, offer a haven in which children and pets can play, or adults can enjoy alfresco dinner parties.

Ground Floor ~

On entrance, the regal hallway greets guests with impressionist wood flooring and a boutique staircase.

In the drawing room, a restful palette of soft biscuit and cream is conveyed through the plush sofa, carpet and furnishings, offset by an ornate crystal chandelier. The ambient fireplace and large flatscreen TV make this room ideal to socialise and unwind in.

A spacious 'library' guest bedroom can also be found on the ground floor. Furnished with a king size bed and decorated in a 'highland' theme, the room offers a beautiful couple’s retreat. The bedroom has easy access to a shower room & WC.

Meanwhile, the generously proportioned country-style kitchen & diner’s fully-equipped facilities and ornate fireplace are complemented by a romantic courtyard table & chairs through glass doors into the central small inner courtyard.

The modern garden room offers an informal refuge where guests can relax with a DVD, curl up on the sofa and enjoy access & views of the sunny garden, with an electric fire to keep extra warm.

First Floor ~

The French-style master bedroom is furnished with an ornate king size bed, complemented by painted chateau-style furnishings. A contemporary en-suite shower room is also en-suite.

A second equally-spacious bedroom is furnished in classic French-style and the king size bed and front facing window, offer a lavish retreat for two. The room is conveniently accompanied by a large family bathroom next door, fitted with a bath tub and separate shower cubicle.

Upper Floor ~

A flight of stairs leads to a child-friendly upper floor. The bright and spacious fourth bedroom offers a charming nautical theme suited for ship-worthy crews of 4 with a set of bunk beds and two single beds. Children can enjoy a favourite TV show or a game away from the grown-ups. The bedroom also features a contemporary fitted en-suite bathroom.

Premium quality bed linen and towels are provided throughout, alongside in-house laundry facilities, which can be found in utility room off the kitchen.

Location ~

Guests are within a 2 minute walk of the charming amenities of Chelston, the train station and Torre Abbey Sands Beach. The sunny village green below the property also offers a welcome spot in which children can play and for dogs to stretch their legs. The vibrant harbour side of Torquay is also nearby.

From lazy beach days, scenic walks, sightseeing and dining out to water sports, cycling, golf, sailing and horse riding – there is a wealth of fun to enjoy on the Devonshire doorstep!

Torquay Golf Club is an extremely popular venue for visitors and societies alike - due to the excellent service and friendly welcome provided. It is a delightful parkland course with stunning views over Lyme Bay to the east and Dartmoor to the west.

Torquay makes a great short break for Golfers in both summer and winter. When many other courses are snowbound or unplayable, the clement Torbay weather ensures that a full 18 holes can be completed!
