A Two Bedroom, Two Bathroom Luxrious Apartment In The Heart Of Edinburgh.

Castle Terrace in the historic West End. It is south facing with high ceilings,huge sash windows and working shutters. The stunning lounge has comfortable seating for six, TV and wifi

The master bedroom has a luxurious super king size bed and an ensuite with shower. There is a second large double bedroom, a family bathroom with shower over the bath. There is a double sofa bed is in the dining room which affords a third couple a separate room.

There is a brand new kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine.

The apartment is on the first floor. There is no lift.

In common with other capital cities parking is expensive and difficult.

Beautiful apartment central to everywhere

Just back from a great weekend in Edinburgh. The apartment was spotless, it’s really spacious and so nicely decorated. Big lofty rooms tastefully decorated we could have stayed in and had a great time! Very easy to communicate with Val and Ashley who kindly lets us check in early and late when we left. I would definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others!

Beautiful apartment great location

This is the third time our party has stayed in this beautiful apartment. It has everything we need for a comfortable stay. It is within walking distance to princess street , approx 10-15 mins leisurely stroll. Local supermarket for essentials is less than 5 mins away, as is Grassmarket, where there is many places to eat drink or shop. Edinburgh is a very busy place, but you can guarantee you will get a good nights sleep at Castle terrace, we all look forward to returning to this lovely place again next year.

Rugby weekend

Fabulous Edinburgh base for a rugby weekend in Edinburgh. Lovely traditional flat with loads of character and original features in the heart of the old town. Clean, cosy, warm (and it was a freezing weekend!), tastefully decorated and well stocked. Close to Lothian Road for restaurants and cinema, and Westport and Grassmarket for pubs and outdoor market. Would definitely book again - highly recommended. Val and Ashley were helpful throughout.

Comfortable, stylish flat

We were in Edinburgh for a conference at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, a perfect 7-minute walk from the flat. The property was spacious and comfortable for the three of us (a couple and a single) with good beds and a nice living room for a bit of entertaining. The high-ceilinged, light-filled rooms added to the flat's gracious feel. Communication was easy and prompt with Val and Ashley. It's a lovely walk around the castle or through the Princess Street Gardens to all of the features that makes Edinburgh so appealing. We'd definitely return.

Lovely location. Rude owner!

I stayed at this place and the location is quite nice. Its a short walk up to the "royal mile". So the place very good. HOWEVER, on my last day around 11 in the AM the maid showed up in the apartment unannounced. I showed the maid the email I had received which said check-out was 3:30. The site showed that info as did the email I was sent. The maid called the property manager who called the owner who then called me directly. She STARTED the conversation with "There's been a misunderstanding and its clearly YOURS". I forwarded the email to her and she then tried to say that the other couple we had stayed with "must have changed the numbers" on the email! She then proceeded to tell me that there was "NO ALTERNATIVE" but for me and my wife to vacate immediately. (I hadn't had a chance to even shower) So we left, not happy about the way the owner was so presumptuous that this was all OUR FAULT. It later was discovered that there was in fact a mistake in the listing. This, of course, was not my fault and the rude owner never so much as apologized for having accused me of causing the problem. So, bottom line is nice place but I'm sure there are many more and it just isn't worth my time to rent again from someone who cares not at all for her customers once she has their money. I'm pretty disgusted by the presumptuous and mean way I was treated.

Owner's Response: Arrivals and departures are so important, we do try our best to get things right. It can only work with good communication between guests and my self and my property manager. Ashley can often accommodate later departures and earlier arrivals depending on work schedules and whether there is a departure and arrival on the same day. It cannot happen without former arrangement. There was an error on the listing. However the correct information is displayed in the terms and conditions which have to be read (and box ticked) before booking Further correct information of arrival and departure times was emailed to this guest. On the day in question I was anxious to ascertain was who had sent the email giving permission for a late departure when it had not been requested or therefore granted by either myself or the property manager. What our guest has failed to explain is that his friend and fellow guest sent the email which contained the error from the website. Happily in four years of renting this apartment other guests have read the terms and conditions and information sent, so this web site error has not caused a problem until this date. A slightly later departure could have been possible and I am sorry that lack of communication prevented this from happening. I did email and am sorry the error led to this situation. Incidently I did not have any telephone conversation with the person who posted this review. The "retelling" does not match my recollection of the call.

What a lovely place to stay, was made welcome when we arrived, allowed us in early very friendly. Apartment is first class everything you could want for a short break, situated within walking distance of all Edinburgh has to offer, would highly recommend.

This attractive property is located in the historic Old Town district at the foot of Edinburgh Castle. Steeped in some of Edinburgh’s greatest history. Greater Grassmarket is only minutes walk away from the apartment and to the popular Royal Mile. The apartment is conveniently located for Lothian Road which has a wide and varied range of amenities including shops, restaurants, bars and bistros. Stroll along the old George IV Bridge, where you’ll meet the famous Greyfriars Bobby, before walking through some of Edinburgh’s oldest and most photographed streets including Candlemaker Row, Victoria Street, West Port and our famous view of the great Edinburgh Castle. A vibrant and popular meeting place for visitors and locals alike, you can soak up the medieval atmosphere and enjoy its splendid views of the nearby castle. The area is well served by buses, the new City tram service and an express bus runs from Waverley Station to Edinburgh International Airport. The railways stations of Waverley and Haymarket

This incredibly beautiful city is easy to explore on foot. Princes Street, The Royal Mile and the lively Grassmarket are a few minutes walk away. For outlying attractions (The Royal Yacht Britannia, The Botanic Gardens, Dynamic Earth etc) the hop on hop off tourist bus stops a few metres away. Every Saturday there is a farmers' in Castle Terrace. This will satisfy anyone wishing to taste Scottish fare with porridge, croissants, bacon and Angus beef burgers and cheese to sample. If more serious self catering is on the agenda you will find Scottish cheeses, venison, fresh fish and seafood, smoked salmon and haddock, Aberdeen Angus Beef, lamb and mutton.

The nearby restaurants and bars are too numerous to mention and will suit every taste and pocket.. The Castle Terrace Michelin starred restaurant is just next door, the Usher Hall and theatres just behind the apartment. Despite their close vicinity you will get a good night's sleep as the location of the apartment is not on a main thoroughfare for traffic or revellers.
