A delightful "pied-a-terre", "La Charme" has everything that one needs to enjoy a sojourn in the City of Light. Its pristine and uncluttered effect is highlighted and accented by touches of turquoise, fine French antiques, and original wood beams dating back to the 17th century. It is on the fifth floor of a small building with an elevator and it offers all the comforts of a small home, with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and a coffee machine. The bathroom is bright and has a walk-in shower. The bedroom offers a queen-sized bed. There is a living room with a dining area. Don't miss this chance to be part of Paris.
It is located in one of Parisians' most favored locations, the Marais. From the mid-thirteenth century, the Marais became one of the most important aristocratic areas of Paris. By World War II the Marais had declined, but a major effort was made beginning in the 1950's to renovate the area. The main palaces and mansions were restored and turned into museums: the Picasso Museum, the Paris Historical Museum and the Cognac-Jay Museum are now prominent and worthy of a visit. The Georges Pompidou Museum, France's national Museum of Modern Art and one of the world's most important cultural institutions, was built on the western edge of the Marais. Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano were the architects of this architecturally revolutionary building. The Marais has become incredibly chic and you will find trendy shops, countless art galleries, and all varieties of restaurants and cafes. You can shop away and dine very well between museum visits !
The Pompidou, the Picasso museum, the Hotel de Ville, the dramatic Carnavelet Museum, impressive Place de Voges, the Seine, the Cathedral of Notre Dame are all a 10 mn walk away. You will also find the Opera at the Bastille not far away too. 2 metros are less than a 4 minute walk, the RER a 7 minute walk, and 2 bus stops within 2 minutes. Tough to beat this for location.
This apartment was in a great section of Paris, the manager was very helpful and the kitchen/ living space was generous by Paris standards. A quaint loft with nice views, clean and good access to restaurants, grocery shops metro etc.
The apartment was one of the best apartment I have stayed in. It was just as advertised and even more. It was lovely and clean. It was just like living in your own apartment. The kitchen was well equipped with even a dishwasher. Loved having our meals at the little table in the kitchen overlooking the rooftops of Paris. There was a washing machine also which was great as we were staying there for 9 days. Loved the neighbourhood very safe and walking distance to all the attractions. There was a little supermarket next door and a bakery down the road. Great communication with owner/manager. We would highly recommend this apartment to our family and friends.
