About the Owner

My name is Ronnie Clifford and I bought my house in Bovey Tracey in 2008 to be close to my Mother and Sister who both live in the area. I have not been able to spend as much time there as I would like over the last couple of years and I really want the property to be lived in. So, I have decided to rent it out as a holiday let in order to get some energy running through the house. It has a lovely feel to it, warm and homely and I do hope you will enjoy staying in it as much as I do when I am not either living in London or spending time traveling abroad.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Ronnie,

At last we're leaving your lovely home from home, we certainly thought it was for the last eight lovely weeks. If we could have seen the future we could have booked for another month into August, our new home is taking until the middle of August to be ready, but thanks to family & friends we will be OK. Probably not so comfortable as your home is but we were very grateful for the extra time we spent here. Thanks Greatly for everything and we wish you well in your future lets.

PS Thanks to Anne also!

Great place to stay for Dartmoor and the beaches.

  • 5 of 5

The photos don't begin to do justice to the actual space in this property. With 6 adults sharing this accommodation we still found it more than adequate and the owner had thought of everything for our comfort. This included our reception by the Property manager who explained all the local attractions, places to eat etc. and was most welcoming.

Nice sized, local to many attractions.

  • 5 of 5

Nice sized property, dog and children friendly. Liked that we were only a few minutes from many of the main attractions. The house was clean and safe for the children.

A comfortable home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

This holiday home was clean and well equipped for a family to settle in and start to enjoy their holiday. Everything you require is within a few minutes drive, shops, fuel station and restaurants/Pubs.

The household furnishings were in good condition, comfortable and sufficient to cater for 5 persons easily. The garden area and outdoor furniture facilitated the relaxation in the garden and listen to the bird song.

The welcoming scones and clotted cream on the day of arrival was unexpected but welcome after the drive down.

This house proved to be an ideal central base to explore the Moors, the coastal areas as well as the rich history in the villages and towns nearby.

Improvements - our only suggestion which of course is subject to our preference, would be for better quality firmer mattresses to improve the sleep comfort.

All things considered, we would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.

Sunny Kiln Close

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Kiln Close for 8 weeks during our house move. It was warm and comfortable at a very cold time of year. Very well equipped kitchen. Lovely comfy beds and a nice sunny back garden. Ronnie was very helpful and made the whole process easy. Staying at Kiln Close definitely kept us sane!!

A lovely location for Dartmoor and the coastt

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely short holiday at this property that is located in a very quiet part of Bovey Tracey. The location is good both for visiting Dartmoor, which is literally within walking distance and the coast, which is about 10 miles away. The property is well situated for the shops in Bovey Tracey, including some very good take away restaurants. The rooms are quite spacious and well furnished, the only items missing would be a greater selection of books or possibly games for families with children. Cleanliness was 100% perfect and the garden was a absolute delight, being full of interesting plants and well secluded. Being south facing it was most pleasant to sit outside in the sunshine on the garden furniture. The owner of the property has provided excellent customer service, being prompt in replying to my enquiries and most pleasant when responding to messages. When we arrived at the property, somewhat latter than planned after a long delay on the motorway, we were greeted with home made scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream. We were also given details about interesting places to visit/where to eat etc. We would certainly recommend this property to friends and relatives, and hopefully we will return before too long as we could only stay for 3 nights and really were reluctant to leave.

From the Owner

I love to be in Bovey (as the locals call it). It's easy to get around and you can walk out for dinner or to the pub for a drink. The outdoor swimming pool is a must in the summer and is a stones throw away. Get out on your bikes and visit the local area, calling in at many of the local restaurants for a bite to eat along the way. Torquay is not too far away and some of the best beaches in the country are worth a day out to visit. It's always good to have Exeter close by for a bit of 'retail therapy', if all the walking and cycling get too much! There is also a paint ball circuit just down the road, before you get to Trago Mills. If you haven't been to Trago, then it is worth a visit, if only to pick up your holiday bargains. For any family 'The house of Marbles' is also a must with lots of things for both kids and adults to do, plus of course, great food at reasonable prices.

From the Owner

The house has both a downstairs twin bedroom with a single bed (and a fold-out if needed), plus a downstairs Wet room. With ramp access to the property from the front it provides ease of access for those less able to use lots of steps or stairs. Upstairs there is also a cloakroom and two additional double bedrooms. The most outstanding feature of this property is its south facing garden which gets the sun from morning to evening most of the year around. With BBQ and Chimenea provided plus outdoor benches and tables and chairs; enjoy wonderful evenings in this stunningly beautiful south facing garden.
