Highdown Is Located In The Beautiful Setting Of Trebarwith Village


Highdown is a light and spacious cottage with two bedrooms (one double and one twin singles) and will comfortably accommodate up to four people. There is a good sized lounge with a dining area. The kitchen and utility room are well equipped (usual facilities plus freezer, microwave and washing machine). There is a bathroom and separate shower room. The garage is not used as such, but has a table tennis table which should be fun!

Outside to the back, there is a terrace with steps down to a large garden, laid to lawn and at the front, a patio, ideal for breakfast in summer. Also room to park a couple of cars.

Oil fired central heating and open fire.

Pets welcome at no charge.

Bed linen supplied.

Electric to be charged by meter reading.

Phone provided, call advice operates.

Non smokers only please.

Amazing House

We didn't want to leave this beautiful house and its amazing views!

Everything and everywhere in the house was very clean and well stocked! My two dogs loved the garden! We are planning on retiring to Cornwall in 3yrs time and somewhere like this place and location is just what we want! Will definately be returning if we are able! Highly recommend! 5+ star rating from the Green family!

A lovely holiday home that keeps calling us back

We've been staying at Highdown & Trebarwith for ten years, & we cannot contemplate staying anywhere else in Cornwall. Trebarwith calls us back year on year. Our children count down the weeks to the next holiday there, & so do we! Gull Rock sitting majestically in the ocean; the waves crashing in & surfing at sunset; the rock pools beckoning; tea, hot chocolates, & cheesey chips watching the tide come in from the rocks; Moo-Maid ice creams from the Crazy Mermaid; a pint of Tribute in the Port William whilst watching a sunset. Nothing in the world can beat it.

Highdown Cottage is an excellent place to stay to enjoy the Strand. Sitting on the top in Trebarwith village, it is perfectly located, with it being only a 20 minute to the beach walk down a footpath. We did this every day, & even the children never complained either going down or up.

The views from the cottage are incredible: the Ocean, Backways Cove, Pentire point, the farmer's fields & his friendly cows in the adjoining field. You get up, look out of the large window in the living room, & feel invigorated every day.

The cottage is always clean, with the occasional dog hair on the floor. The amenities in the cottage are a bit on the basic side, however, but are more than adequate for a family's needs. The sofa can be uncomfortable, & the curtains in both bedrooms are so thin that we have taken to bringing our own black out material. But these are minor quibbles with what we consider to be an idyllic stay. Wifi was a new addition this year, so the children were very happy!

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend staying at Highdown Cottage. But I don't want to shout about it, in case it gets overbooked! It's our holiday secret!...

A great holiday home with amazing views

this is a lovely holiday home one of the best we have stayed in, has a big garden great for children or dogs with amazing views form the house and garden a lot, bigger than the picture show ( pictures really don't show how nice it is )

Very good condition has all you need, would recommend to anyone.

Well pleased

Highdown is a lovely bungalow in a very peaceful area. It is comfortable, cosy, and everything we needed had been provided. The large windows gave a good view out over the headland to the sea, and the steps from the patio door to the rear garden were useful. There is a lot to see and do in the area, and the information provided in the bungalow was up to date and informative.

We would love to stay there again sometime.

Quiet location, amazing views of the coast

Pleasantly surprised with the Highdown property. Located in a quiet village at the top of a hill, with amazing views of the coast from every window. Property was in good condition, clean and warm, garden well maintained. Agent was very helpful, would stay again.

Comfortable cottage in fantastic location.

This comfortable, light and spacious cottage is in a rural hamlet and makes a peaceful base away from the bustle of busy Tintagel, Polzeath or Padstow. Though there is much to see and do in this part of Cornwall it can be hard to drag yourself away from the sunny lounge and terrace, like a viewing gallery, with its mesmerizing views of sea, sky and miles of unspoilt coast.

The beach at Trebarwith Strand is a short walk from the property. And there are two pubs within about half a mile - both serving food. There are several good sandy beaches within easy driving distance, Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Bude and Widemouth Bay to name but a few. Boscastle and Port Isaac offer fishing and sailing trips. Excellent golf facilities exist in nearby Camelford, Rock and Launceston. Cycle along the Camel Trail (cycle hire available in Wadebridge and Padstow). Visit the wonderful Eden Project, about 45 minutes by road. There are a host of tourist attractions all within easy reach for days out from Lands End to West Devon, and Bodmin Moor is only five miles away.

Art lovers will enjoy the many local craft centres and the Tate Gallery at St. Ives.

History addicts will run out of time before exploring all the churches and museums.

Literature fans can enjoy finding out about Thomas Hardy’s and Daphne du Maurier’s links with this part of the country.

Or you could just spend all day on the beach!
