About Andy and Lesley Walker
France has been our favourite holiday destination for many years. It offers such a variety of activities from beach holidays to rural escapes and winter skiing. We initially considered moving to France as we love the way of life but family commitments meant this was not practicable. So instead we chose to buy a holiday property for our own use and to let to others. We continue to enjoy holidays in our apartment at various times of year and never cease to be impressed by the beautiful surrounding scenery. Each time we visit we find new things to do and new places to explore. The apartment is a real home from home, warm and comfortable with everything that one needs for a relaxing holiday.

Why Andy and Lesley Walker chose Annecy - Lake Annecy area
We love the location of our apartment because there are things to do all year round. In Winter it is in easy reach of a variety of ski resorts. What's more, there's plenty to do on non-skiing days as the small complex has its own indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna, a tennis court, petanque and a games room with table tennis, pool table and table football facilities. There is also play equipment on site for families with young children.
We bought 'off plan' which was fortunate as we were able to choose which apartment we wanted and we stood on the site armed with a compass to determine the perfect aspect - sun, privacy and stunning mountain views! We know that our apartment is unique on the complex and we believe it enjoys the best location!
What makes this apartment unique
This particular apartment is unique within the Le Birdie complex for the following reasons: the owners arranged with the architect, at the time of construction, to alter the original design so that there is a wider living area, a separate shower compartment as well as a standard-sized bath and shower and an additional door from the WC leading into the bathroom. Furthermore, this is the only apartment to have a garden with all day sun, benefiting from a greater degree of privacy than most of the other ground floor apartments and with outstanding mountain views.

Lovely simple accommodation in a beatutiful location.
Great little apartment with all the essentials. The website photos meant we knew what to expect and it did not disappoint. We loved the swimming pools, indoor and out meant our girls could swim whatever the weather. The only minor annoyance was the wi-fi was an extra charge and was only available in the pool/reception areas. Lots to explore in the area but we had fantastic August weather so enjoyed lounging around the pool and exploring the village. It was a comfort to have plenty of English speaking support should we have needed it. We all had a brilliant holiday.
Lovely peaceful stay
Lovely compact apartment ideal for a couple. All your kitchen etc basics provided and local shops easiily accessible. Beautiful surroundings and lots of strenuous and not so strenuous activities in the local area. Further afield Mont Blanc is an (expensive ) must. Village is very quiet and peaceful. Complex pool is good and some activities arranged in the week. Thank you for a well organised stay.
we are cyclists and found this pretty much ideal for our needs, very clean and in an area full of scenery and interest, thanks Andy and Lesley.
Great Alpine Escape
This is a lovely little apartment on the edge of a small residential complex, in a hidden valley, close to Lake Annecy. It is on the edge of a beautiful village with fantastic scenery and walks.
There are 2 small towns within walking distance and the lake is 5 minutes drive away (or an easy bike ride). Although this area is more renowned for it's proximity to ski resorts, it is a fantastic place to visit in the summer with plenty to do and see.
The apartment was very clean and provided everything we needed. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) TV and DVD player.

Great little gem in quiet village near Lake Annecy
This is the second time we have stayed in the apartment with our two girls. Both times we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay.We found it to be clean and very comfortable.We enjoyed breakfasts out in the garden under the sun umbrella enjoying the superb views.We enjoyed all the facilities the pool and tennis courts/ games room.
There is so much to do around and about. Montmin to watch the para gliders/ yellow boarding on Lake Annecy, bike riding on the cycle trail and markets galore.Late evening walks around the village of Giez was peaceful too.
Such a great place to stay and Andy and Lesley the owners (who we met last year) have been very easy to communicate with.
Would thoroughly recommend this little gem to anyone.
great place to stay
We had a wonderful stay in the apartment, it was very clean and tidy and lovely to have a patio area outside. The bed was comfortable and the water was piping hot. There are lots of walks from the apartment and we watched the cows going up and down the road each day! Its a very tranquil spot away from the road but easy accessible to Faverges the nearest town where we hired bikes for the day. There are some good restaurants around which we enjoyed. Would definitely go back again!

Activity and Interests
The apartment is in the Residence Le Birdie, a recently built holiday complex of approximately 100 apartments, tastefully constructed in the local traditional Alpine-style to blend in with the historic medieval village of Giez. The apartment is in a south-east facing corner plot benefiting from all day sun in its own private lawned garden with outstanding views of the surrounding mountains. On the site there is a heated indoor pool and sauna open all year round and an outdoor pool for use in the summer. There is also a tennis court, petanque lanes and an indoor games room. The property is located next to the beautiful 18 & 9 hole Golf de Giez with discounts offered to Le Birdie occupants. An excellent car-free cycle path linking Annecy to Albertville runs 1 kilometre from the apartment with outstanding lake views. The picturesque south end of Lake Annecy, with its beaches, lake cruises, boating and lake swimming in crystal clear water is a mere 5 minutes drive from the property. The town of Annecy, known as Little Venice due to its network of canals, is half an hour's drive alongside the length of the lake. The property is an excellent base for a large choice of ski resorts and other adventurous activities such as paragliding, hang-gliding, canyoning, mountain biking and hiking. The attractive small towns of Faverges & Doussard with a selection of supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, shops, children's playground and weekly market, are both approximately 5 minutes drive away.

Reservation deposit of 25% of the rental is required to secure booking. Remainder due 6 weeks before arrival together with refundable 200€ security deposit.

- The partially tiled bathroom has a full length bath with shower over and an additional separate shower enclosure, particularly useful for those with limited mobility. There is a very efficient wall mounted warm air heater, towel rail and pegs and wash basin with storage space under. The bathroom is accessible from the bedroom and WC. The separate WC has additional access from the living area.

- The bedroom is curtained off from the living area and there is a curtain partition between the double bed and single sofa bed to give some privacy. Bedroom has access to bathroom and separate WC. In the bedroom there are bed-side tables with lamps, fitted wardrobes and shelving with sliding doors, a framed picture and wall mounted mirror. BED LINEN: We provide pillows, blankets and one double duvet. We recommend that our guests bring their own bed-linen and towels. Alternatively, sheets and towels can be hired from reception but duvet covers are not available for hire.

- We love the fact that Le Birdie is an all-year-round holiday destination. In Summer, on Lake Annecy can be seen boats of all types, swimmers in the clear water and sunbathers on the beaches, the cycle path is popular for cyclists, joggers and roller skaters whilst the sky is full of paragliders. In Winter the snow-topped Alps encircling the property tempt skiers up from the valley to enjoy winter sports. Spring and Autumn are quieter seasons with their own individual beauty offering a variety of pleasures to holidaymakers. Nature has blessed this area at all times of year and there is truly something for everyone all year round.
