villa!Maison Fleuve – your perfect river side retreat.This property is set in beautiful mature gardens with a wooded area to the rear of the property and private access to the river but yet only steps away from the picturesque village Aubeterre – officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France! With a total of seven bedrooms – 5 doubles, a twin/triple and a large quad – there are three en suite and 2 additional bathrooms including a spa bath! There are also two lounge areas,one for the children with, TV, PlayStation, Wii and Internet! Furthermore, there is the option to separate the ground floor into a self contained 2-bedroom apartment and the bedroom and bathroom on the 1st floor are ideal for wheelchair access or the elderly.

Relax in the 12 meter solar heated (April/ October) pool and dine in the super alfresco eating area with its huge BBQ,pizza oven and summer kitchen. Table tennis,large table football, pool or badminton – it’s all here! Furthermore, just a short distance down the road at the foot of the village, where the meadows meet the River Dronne, there is a riverside beach and restaurant, a canoeing center and tennis club. Or up the road in Aubeterre – relax with a glass of wine at a choice of superb cafes, restaurants and the hotel bar at Place Trarieux - comfortably shaded by ancient lime trees.

About Roland Hainsworth

Having moved from Cornwall to France in 2005, We spent two years renovating a luxury manor house overlooking the market town of Chalais and successfully built a rental business that grew annually until December 2011 when he purchased Maison De Fleuve and moved to Aubeterre. The extensive renovations were completed in March 2013. The aim was create the perfect property for group/ family holidays.

Taking what we learned from the last 6 years,we feel we have achieved that goal.

Why Roland Hainsworth chose Aubterre sur Dronne, Location, location, location!! Idyllic setting overlooking the river, close proximity to the riverside beach and everything you require from the local village shop, bakery, butchers and chemist, plus a great choice of restaurants in the village square and the hotel bar. All less than 5 minutes walk! Locally there are further great facilities - such as a water park, several golf courses, a Formula 3 race-circuit, go-carts, jet-skis, quad bikes, tennis and - of course - fishing!

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Nature with a beautiful French village/ More for the kids by far, more than any other house i know/ safe river frontage/ superb house layout with plenty of areas for personal space/ Heated pool( needed spring and early summer and great for a night swim)! 2016 we are creating a fantastic out side area, with pizza oven, BBQ and kitchen. This will enhance the games and lounge area that already works so well!

Great family holiday home in a great location

We were a family party of 9 spanning 3 generations. Having viewed the property on HomeAway we felt that it would fulfill our holiday criteria. We had plenty of space to enjoy around the house but equally we felt that we could enjoy family time together. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool as we had fabulous weather. The pool table was also enjoyed by all members of the family. As the beautiful village was only a few minutes away we were able to enjoy all its facilities from fresh bread, sun hats, cool drinks in the square & lovely food in the restaurants. On arrival, we were greeted by the owner Roland even though it was after 10pm. He was more than happy to show us around the property & even the log fire was lit for a warm welcome. It was great value for money & would definitely recommend.

The Perfect Retreat

The Maison du Fleuve is the perfect retreat

You forget all your worries and put up your feet

Sat round the pool where you can gaze upon

The ancient town walls of Aubettere Sur Dronne.

The house is a good size with plenty of charm

Instilling in oneself a good sense of calm

Two kitchens are handy, one up and one down

The veranda with games room the jewel in its crown

Each night we sat out to chat and play games

The pizza ovens great but ours went up in flames

Heed our advice and don't use too much wood

'Cos when there's no burnt bits the Pizza tastes good!

La Taverne is close by, the service is great

No complaints here for the food that we ate.

The kayaks were fun but the course is a test

Even Ray Mears would've struggled at best

Overall everyone had a great stay

The greatest of times in every way

So thank you to Roland, and Janie and Sue

Hopefully one day we'll rebook with you.

Incredible holiday home in great location

This house is brilliant, I have never seen a holiday house so well equipped. From kitchen equipment through to every kind of outdoor game you could imagine. The house is in great condition and in a great location in the beautiful village of Aubeterre. I can't recommend it highly enough for large groups. Roland was a great host and everything was organised really smoothly. We'll be back for sure.

PERFECT HOLIDAY HOME AND LOCATION

We booked this Villa to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our family ages 8-73. It more than exceeded all our expectations. There was more than enough games and activities to keep everyone occupied that is when you weren't exploring the beautiful area. The church in the village is well worth a visit. If you want an excellent meal cooked for you then Roland and Sue are the ones to do it we could not fault the one we had. Would we go back again a resounding YES.

Perfect for large groups of various ages

This house was perfect, we were a group of 16 with ages ranging from 7 to 69. It is very spacious with lots to do, the swimming pool, pool table, canoes, bikes, badminton and pizza oven were all used. The location is perfect to explore the town, walk to the bakers in a morning and the restaurants for an ice cream in the evening.

I don't think I could have chosen a better place to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary.

Excellent location and good easy to contact owner.

Large property with all necessary amenities, very good swimming pool with private garden. The village is very attractive with a good choice of restaurants and well stocked local shop. Easy cycling and canoeing from the village. Roland and Sue were easy to contact and very helpful in providing basic food and booking a restaurant for the first evening. (Shops closed on a Sunday afternoon.) Good value and no hesitation in recommending.
