About the property

2 Bedroom Apartment with views of Salthill Village or Galway Bay

With a great location in seaside Salthill, Galway, Jameson Court apartments are a great choice for those planning a self-catering break in the West of Ireland.

This apartment complex is within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and pubs and offers an ideal base for exploring Galway and the surrounding locality.

The apartment has modern furnishing, a plasma TV, full kitchen, separate laundry room, two bedrooms, including an en suite master bedroom and free Wi-Fi. The apartment has lift access and free underground private parking.

The complex is designed with only two apartments on each floor which allows for greater privacy and quietness.

The two-bedroom apartment has a wonderful view. So whether taking in the beautiful village of Salthill or the stunning Galway Bay guests can make the most of the location and the sea air.

As well as pubs and restaurants, guests will find casinos, supermarkets and coffee shops all within walking distance of the apartments. Galway City is also a short 15 minute walk away. Galway, the cultural capital of the west, boasts attractions and amenities like the Spanish Arch which was built in 1854 and Galway City Museum which tells the story of the city and its surroundings with artwork and objects from medieval times to the present day.

Or what about a visit to Nora Barnacle’s House? Nora was James Joyce’s wife and is said to have provided the inspiration for the character Molly Bloom in Ulysses. Visitors will also love the Saturday and Sunday Market which takes place every weekend beside St Nicholas’s Church. The market sells a variety of local produce including fruit, vegetables, cheeses, jewellery and hand-made items.

Many visitors are also drawn by the fantastic array of festivals that take place here. The Baboro International Arts Festival for Children is held annually in October while the Galway Arts Festival thrills visitors in July. Or what about the Galway Oyster Festival in September or the world-famous Galway Races in July each year.

Excellent Stay - I would give 6 stars if that was an option.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this apartment for my wife and I plus our two kids aged 12 & 15. The condition was wonderful, location was great, and staff were super to work with. Ocean view room, less than 1/2 a block to the water with a long promenade to walk along the water. It's right on the main strip of Upper Salthill. Salthill is a little seaside resort town right next to Galway. Salthill had a number of neat restaurants and bars. Then it's a decent walk or a super short drive and you can enjoy all the historic sites, lovely shopping & restaurants.

Salthill offers everything a guest would require, from Coffee Shops open from early to late, great local restaurants and lively bars. There are a selection of local shops for your day to day needs and Casinos as well if you wish to try your luck.

In the Summer, Salthill has its own Amusement Park and this is a must with kids. Leisureland is a five minute walk from the apartments and has a swimming pool and a newly built Public Gym with all the latest equipment.

Salthill Tourist Office is directly across the road from Jameson Court Apartments and it is possible to have many of the tour buses stop here to collect you on route to some of the more popular tourist attractions. These include the stunning landscape of Connemara and famous landmarks such as Kylemore Abbey and the Aran Islands. There are also tours to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher.

If you enjoy a round or two of golf the Salthill Golf Club is less than 1km away, or you can venture a little further with the Barna Golf Club and Oughterard. Glenlo Abbey has a 9 hole golf Course and this is approx 3 kms.

Galway City Centre is approx 15 mins walk along the water. There are buses across the road to take you to Galway City and they run every 30 mins. There is a taxi rank right outside the door and a taxi to town should cost no more than €8.00 euros.

Salthill and Galway has much to offer whether you are coming for a quiet break or a holiday for the whole family.
